Two church services, the Sunday paper and a couple of family phone calls today, and a grey and windy morning suggests no time outside - it feels distinctly autumnal. Yesterday’s cupboard sorting was worthwhile and several jars marked Best Before 2019 were binned; can’t quite think how I have not spotted them before, but feel quite smug to have kitchen cupboards which are not shameful, at least for now.

Thoughts with all those having a difficult or worrying time.

Storage container should be storage box!Sounds like I have a shipping container sitting on the drive🤣

Good morning- much cooler here and the garden has had a good wash overnight.
After an exciting days TV sport yesterday - women’s football in the morning and rugby in the evening I was quite wrung out. (!)
D and SIL and the children were at Twickenham and of course thrilled by the result.
I also had the dubious pleasure of trying to put petrol in my super shiny new courtesy car only to find that as I sat at the pump, I had NO idea of how to get the fuel cap openblush I had to drive away, go online and look it up on YouTube! And then go back. Was it too much to expect a handbook in the glove compartment ?
Today I am going to see the streamed Oklahoma! with Hugh Jackman. I got the last seat in the little local Filmhouse I like when I went online so there wasn’t even time to ring round my friends and see if anybody wanted to go with me.
I hope you get to enjoy your Chinese soon, Mick and that all with pain or worries find some relief today.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Thank you Grandmabatty. It doesn’t get any easier does it.

The children were returned to their parents last night! Both very excited as they are going on holiday today.

I have set myself the task of sorting out a huge storage container of photos my mother dumped on us a couple of years ago.She said they are of no interest to her🙄well I don’t think they are of any interest to me as a cursory glance shows holidays she went on with friends after my dad died.I have no clue who these people are.My first thought was to burn the lot but DH thinks I should go through them as there may be family photos in there too.Not a task I am looking forward to.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from Colchester where the sun is shining out from a sky dotted with greyish clouds. There is rain in the forecast. It feels humid.
The park next to our estate is holding musical events all weekend so it won't be a quiet day unless we shut all the windows. But we've no plans except for a roast pork dinner.
Love to all 🦩 x

Childhood memories of Beer and Seaton. Happy times.

Gingster Sun 13-Aug-23 07:53:00

Good morning all and Ive had a sleepless night - gnat bites and a sore thumb 😳.
I read for an hour and eventually dozed off for a while.

I enjoyed the Oppenheimer film and it didn’t feel like 3 hours.

Love pic of the wedding LLF . Your niece does look so young and pretty.
Blossoming take it easy today.
Karma your garden sound beautiful. Love the sound of trickling water.

Not much on today. A chicken casserole for dinner.

Take care 🌻

Good morning from a bright morning near Lyme Regis.

Had a lovely week so far, with hardly any rain luckily.

Yesterday we went to Beer on the bus, walked to Seaton, then bus back to campsite.

Travelling home tomorrow, so off to Sidmouth today.

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire.

Beautiful wedding pics LadyLFL

I have had a sleepless night thanks to a sudden attack of diarrhoea, so a lazy Sunday for me today.

Have a good day all whatever you’re doing.

Thoughts to Kalu, Baggs, *Urms and all those with troubles 🌻

Good morning from a dull Torbay.

Thank you for the sympathetic comments yesterday regarding the tragic loss of a baby in my ex's wife’s family. The death is being investigated by researchers at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We have completed our first week of performances and today is a welcome day off! Some evenings we’ve been joined by representatives of local re-enactment groups who have been collecting for the British Legion.

What a beautiful bride, LLFL; she looks very young. It sounds like you’ve had a wonderful couple of days celebrating.

You must find it hard to see your Mum in decline, Grandmabatty so it’s good you have the joy (?!) of caring for grandsons.

Enjoy your lunch, monk08 and blessings to all on this Sunday. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° with blue skies. So nice to see. Ladyleftfieldlover what a lovely photo. It sounds like you are having a good time. Whitewave that's very industrious of you! I should emulate you. Susan I was thinking of you yesterday and your trials with your mum.
Yesterday was the usual housework and washing. Dgs2 didn't require looking after so I pottered about. Dgs1 didn't want to go to the football with his dad and grandad. Sil was very disappointed but I'm sure he'll go at some point. I visited mum at night who was ok but couldn't remember it'll be her birthday tomorrow.
Today I'll get the ironing done. I'll nip out to buy a gift for mum and do a bit of weeding in the garden. Roast chicken for dinner. Have a good day all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Cloudy in South Yorkshire but the sun is trying to break through. My son was too late to eat lunch when he came down yesterday but we ate the pie I had made when he came back from the match. It was always a tradition that the first match of the season meant that meat and potato pie was served for lunch before going to the ground. It was lovely to see him, even for a couple of hours.
Today I will take back the last of the equipment I was loaned when I had my hip replaced. It’s been in the garage and I had forgotten about it. When I come back, if it’s not raining, I’ll clean the car.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from cloudy and bright s somerset

Yesterday was a good day and I finished a dress in a lovely printed linen, the previous three have been made from quilting cotton and have all been utilitarian, for daily wear. I only have one of those left. Depression era chic, is what the style is described as, the linen will last me for many years

Also a dungaree toile is cut out for dd who asked for a pair, size 10 and now traced. I shall make them as good as ever and I think they will fit, if they do then another pair in very good fabric will wing her way for winter

The garden is super lush, the many stepping stones are partly hidden and I expect there are lots of creatures hiding under protection of ground cover. Sedums, pops of echinacea, geraniums and roses. It is still a jumbled mass of flowers and bees buzzing all over, with a trickling solar water feature for the birds and for my ears. No entry needed until october for apple picking

Good morning from a clear Bristol.
After the damp squib that yesterday morning produced for the balloon festival, some are flying today, and coming north my way.
Yes, I have been up in a balloon over Canterbury many years ago and would go up again in a breath. In fact, I’ve asked SiL to investigate a flight for DGD1 and me for our shared birthday next year.
Just church today.
Prayers to all in need/distress, especially Urms, kalu, corner, Marydoll, et al. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a cloudy South Downs.

I Love weddings llf it is always such a happy occasion.

Quiet day yesterday, drizzle kept me indoors, so I knitted and read. A neighbour popped in to tell me about her holiday - she was a bit sad as they had spent the time in France getting ready to sell her FiL’s house where they had spent so many happy holidays and in fact lived a while.

Not sure about today as more rain forecast. It does look much more optimistic as the week progresses though. So I think I will give the kitchen a good clean - fridge, oven, cupboards etc today whilst stuck in.

Veggie day today so spicy aubergine pasta.

Enjoy peeps

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 13-Aug-23 06:24:29

I don’t know why the second photo is there!

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 13-Aug-23 06:23:37

Here is the happy couple.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 13-Aug-23 06:22:48

Afternoon all. The wedding yesterday was wonderful. A happy couple, delicious food, dancing and finally a football match which Australia won. This morning my sister in law hosted a brunch where the wedding guests met again but in informal clothes! My number one niece told me she is expecting a second baby. We went to her wedding in December 2019. My great nephew is now two and loved the toy waitrose van I bought him. My brother and I are off to Port Macquarie for a few days tomorrow.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but grey sky here in brackley this morning.
I did not go out yesterday, but stayed in apart from an attempt to eat a Chinese Take Away .
Buy body is still not a 100% tempted to drink more bottled water as opposed to tap water.
Must plan my week next week ,after I have watched to women's road race champs from Glasgow.
Take Care,
Miclk
