Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey outside but dry ,signs of the daylight hours shortening here in brackley.
Today after some essential housework , I will get the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours hopefully .
Return for lunch and a easy day at home.
Take Care,
Mick

In answer to your question Susan, I think a light raincoat with room for a thick sweater beneath! But September is usually a lovely month in Scotland 🤞

Good morning Mick and all. A day of cloud and sunshine forecast for the Angus coast, with sunshine predominating in the afternoon. Yesterday was glorious and I enjoyed a 'garden appreciation day' just sitting by the pond. The bench is under a rather large buddleia so I was able to have close-up encounters with the many butterflies. The attached photo is of a little corner of the garden where the last of the crocosmia is in beautiful colour contrast with the echinops.
Grandmattie like you just now I went through a couple of years of hell when in my 50s and was discovered then to have high BP. I've taken the medication ever since and am as fit as a fiddle (🤞) in my 80s. Doctors seem to love our blood pressure - it gives them a chance to be proactive for a change! So please try not to worry too much. And remember, you do tai chi which has been proven to be great for keeping blood pressure in check.
What a glorious pic of little Dolly, Marydoll. Hope you're feeling a little better today.
That's an early start Grandmabatty! Have fun with dgs2 - one at a time is always easier.
Karma I loved the story of your tall, straight oak tree yesterday. How lovely to be able to sit under it and just think.
Your days sound very much back to normal now Mick - congratulations for coming so far.
Safe travels home across the world Llfl tomorrow and happy landings.
I'm off shortly for a tai chi committee meeting - I'm not really a committee sort of person but it's the price I have to pay for the joy I get from being an instructor. As Bruce Forsyth used to say - "You get nothing for nothing - not in this game!" 😂
Have a good day everyone x

Another lovely bright & breezy start to the day here in Sefton.
Singing group this morning. We now have a full group of 40 people which is the maximum we're allowed in the room. Finding a bigger venue is difficult.
A quick lunch then off to "child mind" GDG2 for the afternoon. A busy day.
Take care.

Good morning everyone from a bright, sunny East Yorkshire. I have a gorgeous view overlooking a small pond and there is a large party of ducks sitting beside it.

We had a very pleasant day yesterday. After tidying round we went for coffee and then a walk around another pond area where we spotted a duck family and about 5 ducklings. I took a video and sent it it to Ds to show the gc who love all the wildlife here. In the afternoon our friends visited and were able to see the park at its best. Usually when we have people over it’s been dull and grey which is a shame. After they’d left I cooked a quick easy meal. Food tastes better here too out in the fresh air!

Unsure of plans today even if we are going home or to leave it till tomorrow morning. Family are away so no childminding and can please ourselves this week. We will make the most of a nice day and have a run out at some point today.

Will catch up with threads now.

ginny Mon 21-Aug-23 08:21:28

Good morning to you all. It is overcast here in N. Bucks but is there should be some sunshine later.
We have decided to have a trip out to Sulgrave Manor, about an hour away. Hopefully my hip will not be too bad.
I will take my walking stick which helps
a bit.
Wishing you all a good day and thoughts with those with illnesses and problems to deal with.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining.

We walked into town for the balloon festival yesterday.A strong breeze meant a disappointing day for the balloons but the festival atmosphere and entertainment was good.

A quiet day today🤞🏻The children have all been away so no childcare so garden and housework are all up to date.

DD1 and family start their return journey today. They will stay in Belgium tonight.DGD (8) has been emailing me signing off your loving granddaughter!

We have booked a short break away in September to Dumfries. Will we need our big coats?🤔

I hope your ECG results reassure you grandMattie.

Safe travels Llfl.

Take it easy Mary.Hope you are feeling better.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning everyone from Lewis we’re we’ve it’s looking quite wild and windy!
Hope you get your bp sorted easily gMattie
Safe journey home llfl I’ve really enjoyed hearing about your trip and hope you have a great holiday sago
Yesterday we had another lovely walk around a headland and ended up at the Gearrannan blackhouse village which was interesting to see. Today as it’s wet we’ll be looking for something inside to visit and maybe a look around some craft shops and art studios. And maybe park the car up somewhere and sit and watch the waves crashing against the rocks!
Gorgeous picture marydoll
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's warm and dry but less humid and so comfortable. Pottering day which will include garden watering, which has not been needed for ages.
Love to all 🦩 x

Marydoll Mon 21-Aug-23 07:54:22

Aggie, she was such a scrawny wee baby when she was born. The benefits of breast feeding! To my regret, I couldn't breastfeed, due to being on steroids for long periods of time.

However, I don't think the angle was very flattering! 😊

grandMattie Mon 21-Aug-23 07:48:20

Ash, this is a totally new situation for me. My BP has been normal to low all my life. I’m on no medication for it, nor steroids. In fact, on no medication at all…. So this comes as an unwelcome surprise.

aggie Mon 21-Aug-23 07:42:55

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh, it’s 16 degrees , rain on the windows front back and sides , which is very unusual, we generally just get it hitting the back windows
I’m told we are off to Tesco this morning instead of Lidl ?
Marydoll that’s a lovely sturdy baby , sorry you are so poorly today
grandMatie the Doctor always found my BP too high , but the practice nurse finds it fine , I hope your ECG shows nothing untoward
I’m supposed to be making a shopping list ! Better get on with it

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Lovely afternoon in the garden yesterday for DGD2's 15th birthday.

Today I am back over to DD's to be with the girls whilst she goes away for 2 nights with a friend, whilst her DH is working.. So back home around lunchtime Wednesday. Planning to go out and about today whilst the weather is good. Tomorrow they want to go to the cinema.

Have made a Lasagne for dinner for us all tonight. Tomorrow will be the chippy!

Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning from another non descript morning down South.

Finally think I may be getting somewhere with all my health problems of the last few weeks.
Doctor reckons I had an infection, which then caused an internal irritation.
I have to be careful what I eat to calm things down inside. Will take weeks. But at least I may now know what is going on.

*multicolourswapshop" Glad you are healing well.

monk08 Mon 21-Aug-23 07:24:37

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
DH fishing gear in the wash ready for his next match Thursday should dry a treat.
We're seeing DS and the boys today have promised them we would go to the zoo sometime during the holidays so it looks like that day may have come will see what they want to do when we pick them up.
Hope Marydoll is feeling a little brighter and thoughts and best wishes for anyone else under par.
Will make a cuppa and catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

RosesandLilac Mon 21-Aug-23 07:24:23

Good morning from sunny south Gloucestershire, clear skies at the moment.
Yesterday we drove to the edge of the village and had a lovely walk through the trees and fields, a coffee in the village and a wander back. Very pleasant but I was wiped out for the rest of the day, quite ridiculous 🙄
Today laundry, housework and garden chores await, I intend to sit outside with my book if it’s warm enough. I also need to find a recipe for pork tenderloin, not sure what you do with it!
Take care everyone 🌹

Grammaretto Mon 21-Aug-23 07:23:26

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The weather looks fine.
My DSis and DBiL leave today and I'll try to get back into a routine after my party weekend. I have 2 helpers who are eager to be useful and there are 5 beds to change for a start.

Well done Ash on the successful run.
Safe travels LLFL and others on their holidays.

Hoping everyone has a happy and productive week.

Marydoll Mon 21-Aug-23 07:19:00

I forgot this!

DS2 is a Star Wars fanatic, but I couldn't believe it, when Babydoll, arrived wearing a Star Wars vest!
What happened to pretty dresses and frilly pants? 😉

Marydoll Mon 21-Aug-23 07:08:34

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 16°.

GM, you have had such a stressful year, hopefully your BP rise isn't anything too sinister. It's good to hear your surgery is on the ball.
My BP is always very high, like many on GN, but symptomless, it's good you are being checked out so promptly. I have to monitor mine daily, as I think Blossoming does.

GMBatty, I used to be up early to look after Dollie, but there is no way I could do it nowadays. I commend you!

DH is golfing and I plan to do nothing. I felt so awful yesterday, that I eventually did a Covid test before Babydoll's visit. I resorted to taking the anti nausea medication, because the room kept spinning. The embarrassing yawning episodes have started again, which is another heart problem symptom.
People must think I find them boring, when I'm sure it must be the other way around! 🤣
Thankfully the test was negative and we could enjoy her visit. I had forgotten how anxious I used to get doing them, a positive results means I have to go into hospital for an anti viral infusion. I'm reading too many Covid threads on GN! 😉
She was very unsettled and there was much crying and chewing of her fist. 🦷?
There is something about a baby's cry, which touches your heart.

The only place she was happy was in the garden, where DH spent most of her visit walking her around. We have a spinning glass ball water feature, which fascinated her.
DS2 and DIL arrived at lunchtime, so the freezer was raided. My children always joke about my seige mentality, but don't complain when they need fed! 😉

I wish you all a pleasant day and that GG is having a good break.
As always, keeping the poorlies in my thoughts and prayers.

P.S, DH has just put out the washing, now we have torrential rain! 😡

Greyduster Mon 21-Aug-23 06:58:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a blue sky South Yorkshire. I had a lovely afternoon watching GS play football with his new team. He has friends that also play for the team whom he has known since they were all in reception class and now they are tall, hefty young men! How time flies. We had a convincing win. Afterwards I had dinner at DD’s. There was hot sun and a cool breeze at the ground though and I thought I’d caught a chill last night. Felt quite poorly. Today the plan is to cut the front lawn, wash my car and make chicken and vegetable soup.
Safe travels, LLFL. Have the best day you can folks!

karmalady Mon 21-Aug-23 06:57:00

Good morning from s somerset, seems like a nice sunny day ahead

Craft and chat this afternoon, looking forward to that. I have some sewing to finish and want to do some hilly exercise and make a soup

Have a good day

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, we’ve had overnight rain again.

I don’t envy your early start Grandmabatty, I’m grateful that we no longer have that on our childminding day as DDoutL is able to start later.

Safe trip home Llfl.

I’m off to work again but only have two days this week, thank goodness.

Have the best possible day everyone.

multicolourswapshop Mon 21-Aug-23 06:49:00

Good morning everyone it’s to be a cloudy but warm day today here on the east coast of Fife, I’m fairly getting around I met up recently in St Andrews with a couple of grannies we had a good catch up. The nurse comes today to dress my wee basil cell carcinoma she says it’s healing well

Have a good day everyone remember it’s still out there.

BlueSapphire Mon 21-Aug-23 06:48:11

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, but sunshine is forecast for most of the day.

Yoga this morning, then home for coffee. After lunch I shall try to cut the back grass again,; hopefully it won't be as hard as last week. Spent a couple of hours yesterday weeding and tidying up a border at the side of the house- my muscles are really aching this morning! After that effort I sat outside the summerhouse with a G&T and my book.

Pity about the football yesterday, but the girls did us proud.
Happy Monday everyone.

Sago Mon 21-Aug-23 06:43:43

Enjoying our crossing from Plymouth to Santander.
We had an M&S picnic rather than the restaurant food on board, apparently it is dire.
We have seen dolphins from the deck and are told we have a good chance of seeing whales later today.
The boat is not full so it’s quite pleasant, lots of children in the swimming pool having a fantastic time!
Unfortunately we sat near a group of 4 men who just drank and swore for 5 hours.
I hope they throw up all morning the swell here in the Bay of Biscay is unpleasant.
