Good morning from a sunny W Kent. We shall be taking DGD1 out for lunch today as her mum our DDIL has her breast cancer operation today. DS will be backwards and forwards so we thought we could keep GD busy.
GCSE results tomorrow are giving both DGDs a fraught week.

Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
Will soon ring the surgery for referral for my hearing, which has deteriorated a lot, not helped by my tinnitus. I mentioned it to the doc on my last visit for something else, apparently I am on a list dating back to February…

I didn’t enjoy the music club so much yesterday as we had the concert the night before and it was a bit deja vu. I need to get there earlier for the setting up. The clearing away at the end means people can’t chat to me so much, which is a pity.

Good morning from a glorious sunny Suffolk. It’s so good to come back from holiday and have such good drying weather! The last load about to go in the machine and then the job I hate…..piles and piles of ironing. I’ll have to do it in small batches I think.

Lovely posts about those on holiday and sad news too. I hope today is the best it can be for all and thinking especially of those whose lives have worries and unhappiness in them.

I’m meeting a dear friend for lunch at an old coaching inn in our nearest market town. Wednesday is market day and the pub is always very busy because of the good friendly service and tasty and reasonably priced food.

Hope you enjoy your afternoon tea Gingster which I imagine is at the Wentworth. Lovely to be able to have it outside or,if inside,in one of their comfy lounges with their wonderful vases of seasonal flowers.

Good morning all from a misty Glasgow, where its only 8°C. We are definitely finding it feels more like autumn.

Sago, I'm so envious. We visited Avila in July, you can imagine how hot it was!

Susan, probably better to have the cyst removed, to prevent it returning. It sounds painful.

GB, good luck with the POA. One of the first questions I was asked on my admission to hospital recently, was did I have medical POA. We have both legal and medical. It saves to much hassle for family, if you become seriously ill. Many people leave it too late, unaware that you must be of sound mind to arrange it.

Ash, if you are no longer enjoying your role, its best to walk away. Its sad, but if it is causing you stress, it's not worth it.
I'm in a similar position at the moment, regarding my safeguarding role, but it is very difficult to let go.

DH and I had a most enjoyable day in Glasgow yesterday. We had a delicious Italian meal and the restaurant honoured my request for a ground floor table. Great enjoyment was had watching the comings and goings in George Square and in the restaurant itself.
The dessert were amazing. I took a photo to see if I could replicate them. There was a traditional Scottish strawberry tarts, covered in white chocolate. I am definitely having a go at making that.

It's great to see the tourists back in Glasgow.
My walking wasn't great, so I only managed to visit four shops, one of course was TKMaxx, where I bought a pair of shoes, (which I did not need!)
Gone are the days when I could visit every shop in Argyll and Buchanan Street!

I have the hairdresser today and then a day of rest. I'm exhausted after yesterday.

A busy day lies ahead for us with DGC and DGdog, however it’s unlikely we’ll be having an outdoor adventure, riding “Shotgun” 🎼, as it is raining.
The best thing about going to Nana’s is Nana herself? Oh, how wonderful Mizuna. Equally delightful is news of Sago’s holiday. Foxygloves, what a tragic story.

Good morning all from a rather dull Black country. No plans today after 2 days with the boys it will be nice to relax a bit.
Yesterday's trip to Tamworth was good but they spent so long in the play area there was no time for the castle, so its been promised for another day. We rounded off by going to the local for our dinner.

Good morning Mick and all, from a sunny Oxfordshire, yesterday was beautiful, not too hot.
I mowed the lawns and then moved into the garage to start sorting the crockery out, I’ve done 6 crates and added extra packaging in case we move and sorted out some that I don’t like to send to the charity shop, only another 24 crates to go!
Sago your trip sounds exactly the kind of holiday that MrOops would love, but I get so car sick that I would dread it.

Gingster we had a lovely holiday in Aldeburgh last year, we would love to go again as we were very fortunate with the weather, either side of our holiday it poured.
Well I have more crates to sort today then I can forget about them.

We had a really enjoyable day yesterday, out and about exploring, the Harris beaches are so sandy and beautiful. The heather is out on the hills and the colours are lovely. We’re doing more exploring today, lots of walking and fresh air is doing us both good.

Last day at work before my holiday. I’ll be glad of the break.
Yesterday I ironed and looked out toiletries and other bits and bobs so I think I’m organised.

The side effects of my weekly tablet for osteoporosis mean that I’m more tired and sore than normal but that will ease as the day goes on.

Thanks for the good wishes about my decision to stop working. I was a bit down about it as it felt like giving up until I decided to reframe it as ‘retirement’ even although I actually retired years ago and his is supposedly a part time job.

Just sat with my morning cuppa - a bit later than usual.

Away for a weeks break on Friday so DH has seemingly spent the last fortnight rigging up a watering system for his vegetables.

A relaxed day planned today.

DHs birthday so he has requested steak and his favourite apple and blackberry crumble with thick custard.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's going to be another hot, humid day.
Usual Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre followed by a mooch around the shops as DH is fishing.
I need to hoover the bathroom before I use it. Last night DS had a long bath with the window open and the light attracted lots of moths. He managed to get the big ones out by luring them with his phone light but there are tiny ones everywhere.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an overcast South Yorkshire. I think it may have rained in the night. Yesterday I cleaned the car inside and out. I was going to take it to the local car wash but doing it myself is good exercise and it gave me a sense of satisfaction. Later I had a walk to see if there were any elderberries ripe and came home with a pocketful of hazelnuts. After dinner, I had a long chat on the phone with my oldest friend, who is very ill at the moment but sounded quite chipper. We made each other laugh, which is always good. It’s a shame we don’t live nearer. Writers group at the library this afternoon, and I may do a bit of shopping while I’m up there.

Good morning all and it’s beautiful here on the Suffolk coast. The sea is calm and already I see swimmers.

Yesterday we walked in a near deserted forest. We only ever see a couple of other dog walkers. One lady stopped to chat and we found out that she used to keep her horse at the stables next door to our previous house in Essex. Small world 🌎.

Today we have booked afternoon tea (a Xmas gift) at a lovely old hotel in Aldeburgh. Joyce Grenfell used to holiday there and Benjamin Britten frequented it..

We went to our usual nurseries on Sunday to buy some autumn plants for our pots and tubs. I was telling my db what wonderful produce they have. Well there was hardly anything to be bought and what was there looked half dead. Very disappointing.

I hope all feeling under the weather are a little brighter today.
Life can be so tough at times, but hopefully we can all find some small pleasures. ❤️

Cleaners due this morning to deal with the floors, kitchen and bathroom, feels a treat for sure. Mr C is keen to begin building the Harry Potter Lego delivered yesterday, a gift from one of our sons. Dad will enjoy it I’m told. Yes, he will. I’ll ponder the question of where it will live once built another day.

That’s sad news foxy, a shock for everyone. Look after yourself. Good to hear you sound less fraught grandmattie. It sounds as if you made a wise decision ash. Hope you got your walk sago, sounds wonderful there.

Best get a wriggle on or the cleaners will have a shock. I’m sleeping little at the moment, that’s fibro for you and reluctant to move.

Good morning everyone, it was a bright start here on the hill in south Gloucestershire but it’s clouding over.
Yesterday a sat outside and did some sketching, rather enjoyable and a first for me, so will definitely do more. Apart from that the dog and I had a very pleasant evening walk, chatted to several friends en route and the mellow sunshine was bliss. I do love the softer sunshine now autumn’s approaching. I think it’s one of my favourite times of the year (spring is my favourite)
Today DH was talking about taking the dog for a long long, possibly over the bridge to Wales? Unfortunately long walks are out for me but she’ll enjoy it.

Good morning from a bright, breezy Cornwall. My 7-year-old granddaughter is coming for the day. She is apparently very excited, so her mum asked her what she likes best about going to Nana's, because we do so many different things. 'Nana' she replied.

A budding artist friend who I've mentored for years has introduced me to a '50s avant garde artist called Rauschenberg so I requested a book on him from the library. It's mega-huge and I staggered home under the weight of it in my backpack yesterday. I'll enjoy browsing it at the end of the day and maybe I'll tackle some collage next.

It's a shame about the committee though. Susan hopefully the cyst will soon be no more. Enjoy your time with your grandchildren. Sago your trip sounds wonderful.
Yesterday dgs2 and I had a much better day. We walked all round the park, feeding the ducks and playing in the play park along the way. Then a walk to the swings and playing in the garden once home, not forgetting puddle splashing. Not as much screaming yesterday. Dd gave me chicken curry for dinner which was lovely.
Today I have phonecalls to make and a trip to the doctor to sort out my prescription. The pharmacy which normally dealt with it all has apparently shut which I didn't know, so I'll have to find out how to get hold of it. It's time I moved doctor's to Polmont but I fear there's a very long waiting list. I'm booking an autumn wreath making class for me and my aunt, hence one phonecall. The other is to make an appointment to sort out my will and poa. Head in the sand time is past. Other than that, I'll potter about. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from Foxyland where it looks as if it will be another fine day.
BT might turn up at an unspecified time between 8 and 1 to dig the trench from the road, up my drive and front garden for my Broadband - but they haven’t managed it on the previous four appointments so we shall see.
It all seems a bit trivial though as I am still processing the news that my BIL in Canada has died suddenly after a short stay in hospital. I was due to ring him to ask after my sister who is in a care home with now advanced Alzheimer’s. It had never crossed my mind that he would go first. The family (2 sons and a daughter) are spread across Canada and only their daughter, my niece lives in Nova Scotia near where they are . Sadly she was widowed suddenly last year. Nobody can say how much my sister Fiona will be able to understand, she has no speech any more so she may be spared the reality of the loss of her partner of over 60 years. But it is just so sad. They say when you lose a parent you lose your past and I fear they “lost” Fiona some years ago.
Hoping today will be kind to you.

I missed posting yesterday as I was very tired but managed to provide breakfast for my visiting friend who joined me at Props before driving back to Stafford. It was lovely to have her here to catch up and especially to unwind after my busy time with the play, about which she was most enthusiastic.

A quiet day today but then I’m being taken out for a meal later by a friend from Toads. He’s a lovely guy and I think he wants to bend my ear about something. Last night I announced my intention to resign from the Committee at the next AGM which is in October. I’ve served as Membership Secretary for five years and I’ve enjoyed it until recently when I’ve found it increasingly difficult to support decisions being made, sometimes by cliques within it. Nobody seemed surprised or disappointed by my announcement.
