Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Mick good to hear your feeling stronger enjoy your fish and chips. Ash glad you've arrived safely .
Sago the villa looks amazing what a place for a wedding.
I think I'll do some decluttering in the wardrobe area there a few things not been worn for at least 2yrs so they can go to another home.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning all and it’s dreary here in Essex, but, again so still. Hate this type of day.
September already! 🍂
I put my autumn wreath on the door and the garland above the fireplace - I love autumn.

I had to send a parcel back by Evri. What a performance! The ‘lady’ who runs the newsagents was so unhelpful. I’ve never done it before and asked her to help. ‘Instructions are there’ she said. 😤. I won’t be going back there and told her so.

Dgd1 is coming home today after finishing Uni. She’s back later than others because she’s been on placement. Can’t wait to see her. We’re taking her out for afternoon tea next week and I’ve booked a London show for us nearer Christmas.

Ash glad your journey went well.
Wow! What a place sago. Have a wonderful wedding.

Meeting our Friday pals today. I don’t think we’ll be sitting outside, more likely around the log fire.

Hope your days are *good’ ones. 🌻

Marydoll Thank you, we do have a problem with 3 year old grandson who is out of sleep routine and likely to kick off during the nuptials.😬

Good morning from rainy Colchester. I've an early hair appointment and will need a brolly.
It's our sonIL's 40th today and there's a surprise party this afternoon that is partly outdoors so that the children can play. Hope the weather clears up.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
I'm glad to hear you are feeling stronger Mick and you have arrived safely, Ash.

We had a busy day yesterday, between SIL popping in and looking after Babydoll.
I regretted giving away a lot of our baby equipment, which we had for Dollie, we needed a removal van yesterday to transport all the necessary paraphernalia. 😁
I had forgotten how hard work it is to look after a baby, we fell into bed last night.
You would never know that we had brought up three children and Dollie, we were like novices.
DH went to fold the pram, when we were ready to go home and didn't return. I found a very frustrated papa trying to work out how to get the carrycot off the chassis.
My usual ploy is to go to You Tube and find a solution. On finding a video, I gave it to DH. A few minutes later he came back, saying he couldn't hear a word (remember, he is not deaf) and would look on his tablet.
By the time he returned, I had the carrycot off, it took seconds. All it needed was, a womans touch. 😂
On arriving at DS', I asked where the freezer bag of expressed milk and bottles, which I had asked him to put in the car, was.
What bag? 🙉 ( Please remember, he is not deaf!).
The upside is that they are going to come and pick them up today, so we shall see Babydoll again. 💕
Grannysomerset, the singing did indeed work, especially the lullabies in French and German. I think she may be a future linguist! 😉

DH is golfing ( he forgot to turn off the alarm, when he got up at 5.30am. 😡), but regrettably no empty for me.
I need to go to morning Mass and catch a few people, who do not have an email account and then Sainsbury's, for the cupboards are bare. I would rather doze laze in the conservatory and watch Turkish dramas! My Turkish is coming on a treat. 😉
The afternoon will be spent on parish and safeguarding admin. I'm swamped, because I didn't feel well enough to keep on top of it and time is now of the essence..

For all those on holiday enjoy and safe travels to those on a journey.
Candles today for all the poorlies. I hope Mr C managed to get his dental problem resolved.
Have a good day folks!

Good morning all from Villa Candela en la Colina Benahavis.
Good to hear you’re better today Mick.

We arrived here yesterday after a 90 minute drive, it was lovely to see the Mediterranean glistening in the sun as we approached Benahavis.
Our daughter and SIL (to be) have hired this villa for their wedding tomorrow.
Our other sons and lovely DIL arrived just before us along with other principal guests.
We barbecued for 12 last night and sat eating and drinking on a high terrace overlooking the sea in the distance.
The moonrise last night was spectacular, the picture doesn’t really do it justice.
Today is a busy one as other guests arrive later to stay and the caterers will arrive to set up, there will be 56 guests.
Here’s a link to this beautiful villa.

Have a great Friday all.

Good morning from a cloudy NE.
Weather yesterday was mild so spent some time cutting back the lavender.
Decided to contact the solicitor regarding POA, I asked her to sort it 18 weeks ago and I have still not heard anything.
Wasted another hour trying to contact the bank about an ISA that they have not opened, it is three months since I submitted the form. A human being will not answer the phone and the automated does not cover the subject I want. Have emailed them from my online banking and they just ignored it 😠

Late last night I had a message from DIL asking if they could come to mine for cutting of GD's birthday cake, I don't mind but their house is ten minutes from the restaurant where we are having lunch, mine is 40 minutes away.
Housework all day today.

RosesandLilac Fri 01-Sept-23 06:16:03

Good morning, it’s a damp corner of the Cotswolds this morning.
Yesterday I had a good sort out of my side table drawers, far too much rubbish just stuffed in and I can’t ever find what I’m looking for! I also did my bedside table drawers too.
Had a good clean and tidy up and, along with two dog walks, I was tired last night.
I’ve put my 10.5 tog wool duvet on the bed, I realised that sleeping poorly was possibly because I was getting coooler during the night; I slept much better. This weather is so strange, I’ve never changed duvets before in August, it’s usually towards the end of September.
Judging by the volumes of berries ripening I hope we’re not in for a hard winter; the hawthorns are heavily laden with ripe haws, the hedges with blackberries and rose hips.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

mikes = miles! 🙄

Ashcombe Fri 01-Sept-23 06:09:41

Good morning from a cloudy corner of La Sarthe, where I arrived safely yesterday evening.

My journey went like a dream. Despite being at the back of a (very steep) ramp on board ship which was subsequently lifted, I was away from Ouistreham and in DH’s arms within two hours, having covered 110 miles. The toll roads just eat up the mikes, or I should say, kilometres? Having a transponder on my windscreen means I can avoid having to vacate the car at the Péages. The company which supplied it then DD my account according to usage.

The photos show the view from the back of my car on arrival in Ouistreham. The weather isn’t great currently but due to be hot next week. We’re visiting Lidl today to see how the bargains compare with the ones in Torquay!!

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning and it will be a nice sunny day in s somerset

I had a taste of cool autumn yesterday, rain all day and I cooled down so I needed a jumper. Boiler service is due in three weeks and the apples are ripening fast.

Today I need to take one freezer drawer out at a time, to sort and tidy, I need space for frozen stewed apple. I can keep a good few apples safe in my garage for a few months but the howgate wonders need to be picked over and dealt with, for freezing

Otherwise, this and that as the fancy takes me

Have a good day

Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy here in brackley at the moment still a bit twilight.
Today , plan wise go into Bicester ,return and do Fish & Chips in the air fryer prior to watching cycling on TV .
My condition after surgery seems to be improving each day .
Take Care,
Mick
