When selling things on the internet.

Why don't people put the information we need when they are advertising things to sell on the internet? I am looking for a lawnmower for the church grass (so I want it to be cheap). It has to be self-propelled with a fairly wide cut 18" or more. There are lots of adverts just saying 'lawnmower for sale' and a few pictures. I then have to message them to ask all the relevant questions. People also advertise furniture without giving measurements. I wish they would think about the things they would need to know if they were buying an item. Rant over. Thank you for listening.

I sell online (but antiques not modern stuff) Most of my listings have between 10-15 pictures taken from all angles, measurements in imperial and metric, plus close ups of any signatures, faults, dings etc. Precious metal items also have weight in grammes (or grams as the Americans call it).

Most amateur sellers dont have a clue as to how to describe or present items online. They take a coule of shots with a phone and dont even bother to edit or crop it. I spend hours cropping and editing pictures to show the objects in best advantage.

Sometimes I wonder how some people on Ebay sell anything. I see items of interest, blow the picture up or lighten it, and then sometimes realise that the sellers dont have a clue what they have. I once bought an item for 15 euro and resold at Christies for £1500.

You might have better luck with a cheap Amazon one. At least you can return it if it doesnt work,

I buy and sell on ebay and I find that sellers there give you all the information you require. I rarely need to email a buyer for more information.

I suspect that the OP is using Facebook. the modern equivalent to the old notice on the village noticeboard.
