Good morning everyone .
A little misty this morning but hopefully the sun will soon win through.
I have 2 yr old DGS for a couple of hours this morning. No doubt water and the garden will be involved.
Our craft club starts again this afternoon. My friend is leading the project but I have samples of the next one to show them.
This evening is WI so a busy day.
Hope you feel better today Mick and kind thoughts for other poor lies. Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from another glorious sunny Suffolk.

Open Reach came as arranged to sort out our lack of internet yesterday morning. Our neighbours hadn’t been affected so we assumed( well DH did) that the problem was in the house and so it was. We needed a new power cable as the old one was dead, apparently knocked out by a power surge! Not that we had noticed one. Anyway,Skye, the female engineer soon sorted it and about 10 minutes after she left.Jack, another engineer, turned up to do the job! They must be very short of work at the moment. In the winter when we have storms with eg strong winds and overhead wires down, they have to get engineers in from all over the country to sort out the multitude of problems.

Keep fit classes restart this morning and then an afternoon in the summerhouse I think with the doors and windows open and my Anne Tyler novel….the 3rd one of hers I’m reading in a row.

Good morning all, from a cloudy Glasgow. Where it's already 16°C.

Sago, last night we were talking about our trip to Segovia and the impressive viaduct a number of years ago. It was 40°C and unbearable.
We also visited The Valley of the Fallen, which was built in the 1940s by order of dictator Francisco Franco and, was in part, built by forced labour from political prisoners.
Many family members of Republicans who were buried here are upset that their loved ones shared the burial site with the tomb of Francisco Franco, Spain's dictator, along with José Antonio Primo de Rivera, who was the founder of the Spanish Fascist Party. These controversies have led to the removal of Franco's body.
What an interesting holiday you are having.

Wishing you all the best of days. Enjoy every moment, while you are able to do so!

Good morning everybody. Another gorgeous sunny day forecast here in south Manchester. Here’s Matt.

Beechnut Wed 06-Sept-23 07:47:08

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. There is some light cloud. It’s nice and cool where I am sitting at the moment.

Good news about Olddudders Ash and for yourself of course.
Your pear story tickled me Mizuna. It’s the sort of thing my little brother would have done, and he can still be a scamp as old as he is.
I skipped swimming yesterday and took myself off to Hobbycraft and I’m a bit miffed as I bought some floral snips and on the receipt it said Confirmed customer is over 25 and I wasn’t even asked if I was 🤣 I then went to a garden centre just to look and of course bought some plants, one of which I had been keeping an eye out for and noticed another customer had it in their trolley so I went off to find it. I got 20% Seniors Citizens Discount and I wasn’t asked about that either 🙄
Today I am going to tidy up my plants before it gets too hot and then sort out some of my craft stuff for something I want to do. It should be cool in my craft room until the sun comes around.

Wishing you all a pleasant day. I’ll go back and read properly now 🌻🌞😎

Good morning all from a very misty Black country.
Mick hope your better soon.
Yesterday's meal was delicious honeyed parsnip soup to start I had sea bream DH had fillet of port and we both chose mango creme brulee with ginger shortbread. The restaurant was somewhere we had not been to for 30yrs although the place has changed somewhat they've improved the grounds and it is now used for wedding venues the food and service was how we remembered excellent.
The plan today was a trip to local vineyard and fishery but it appears they have closed the bistro since lockdown so not sure is we will still go.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️

Morning from an already warm S Hants, 30+ due today.
I hope your innards have settled Mick.
Loving your travelogue Sago thank you.
👍Ashcombe 🥂.
Yesterday was a ‘get jobs done in the morning then hunker down’ day, today will be similar. But, this evening we’re going out, for dinner almost on the beach, looking forward to it.
Thoughts with those struggling.

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. More tea drinking this morning and then start packing for a few days away.
Wonderful news Ash enjoy the fizz
Sorry you were upset yesterday Mick
Best wishes to all

brook2704 Wed 06-Sept-23 07:38:28

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve got sea haar that’s rolled in overnight but hopefully that’ll burn off before too long
What good news Ash, so pleased for you both and good to hear you had some fizz to celebrate!
Your poor DGD Susan what a shame, I hope she manages the enforced rest ok and she’s back to normal soon
It’s the gym for me this morning and then home to enjoy a bot of gardening. Probably picking up DGD from school later and bringing her back here for a sleepover but not double checked with DD2 yet 😳
Hope you can get some rest later corner and a better nights sleep tonight
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Wed 06-Sept-23 07:34:22

Good morning all and it’s going to be another 🥵.

Another lovely pic Sago.
Sorry to hear you’ve been incapacitated Mick. Hope today is better 🤞.

I have a friend coming for coffee /iced cordial today and I’ll get the fan back out. I had put it away with autumn arriving. 😤.

Dh is going fishing but he might change his mind as it could be too hot for him.

I spent yesterday morning, waiting!
Queued up outside the surgery for half an hour at 7.30 for an appointment. (Persistent dry tickly cough and family telling me to check it out) 😤. .
Back to surgery and waited for half an hour in the very warm waiting room.
Waited in the pharmacy for half an hour for prescription (they’d forgotten me ).
All to no end! With doc telling me it could be an allergy, post nasal drip, acid reflux, etc etc. I could have told him all that .

I never go to the docs and now I know why! What a waste of time.

Keep cool and take care 🌻

Good morning all from bright South Lanarkshire.

I haven’t caught up with everyone’s news yet, I’ll try to do that tonight.

We got home late last night and I’m working today, very bad planning on my part.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, thinking especially of those with troubles to bear.

Nannagarra Wed 06-Sept-23 07:13:18

Good morning from currently cool Sefton though the heat’s rising.
We’ll have a maintenance kind of day - MOT, replacing kitchen goods (so frustrating when they’d rendered useless because of an irreplaceable small part) - then meet up with a friend and a visit from the family.
Have the best Wednesday possible everyone.

Whoops

Sago Wed 06-Sept-23 06:56:06

Good morning all, sorry you’ve had a set back Mick.

I feel I am getting to know you all, as you know I am not a regular contributor as time doesn’t always allow when I’m not holidaying but it’s lovely to hear your news and see the support and love on this thread.

Yesterday we arrived in Segovia, we drove for 3.5 hours, en route we saw an enormous cross on a hillside it is Franco’s mausoleum, it was quite moving.

We walked through Segovia and we were blown away by the Roman aqueduct, it is a feat of engineering, the Cathedral is equally impressive, Gothic in style and stunning.

Today we leave for an hotel near Santander then thr ferry back to Blighty.

We walked many miles yesterday so I think it will be pool time when we arrive at our hotel🤞.

Today’s picture is the Cathedral.

Mizuna Wed 06-Sept-23 06:52:36

Good morning from Cornwall where it's going to be hot again. A fun day yesterday with an unexpected visit from my granddaughter. More machine sewing; she's getting really adept at it.

Today I'll have to get by the coast initially for some coolth before the warmth really gets going.

Pittcity Wed 06-Sept-23 06:51:30

Good morning from Colchester where a 30 degree day is dawning.
Regular Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre today where I'll drink iced coffee. I'll come straight home at lunchtime to keep cool indoors.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from Shropshire.Another hot day forecast🥵

A lovely start to the day reading your good news Ash🍾🥂

We had a lovely relaxing day yesterday until 7pm when a message from DD with a picture of 7 year old DGD with the biggest bump on her head.An upsetting couple of hours followed while they got medical advice. She seems ok, more upset as told no screens or sports for four weeks. This is a girl who dances, runs and cartwheels her way through life.

Today a quiet morning then over to DD’s to take H to school and then collect both children later.

I am sorry you missed your appointment Mick and hope you can reschedule soon.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Grammaretto Wed 06-Sept-23 06:40:56

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I could get used to this lovely weather.
Yesterday my df drove me and another pal in my car to a garden open for Scottish open gardens scheme. I packed a picnic and we sat amongst the heather. It felt like a holiday.
Today will be more mundane. I'm trying to join a class but getting stuck with enrollment online!

I am so glad DH was given the all clear Ash such a relief.
Sorry about the wretched diarrhoea Mick. Hope you soon get back to normal.
Enjoy the lovely weather if you can.

Greyduster Wed 06-Sept-23 06:29:34

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a “can’t see yer hand in front of yer face” South Yorkshire. Low lying fog at the moment. Take it easy today, Mick. Hope your system settles. I went out yesterday to try and find some elderberries. They were sparse. Then I found a bush dripping with them - at the bottom of our road! I could have saved myself a hot two mile walk, but it was enjoyable. Today I will make cordial for the winter. Good for coughs and colds.
Very good news about Olddudders, Ash.
Have the best day you can folks!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 06-Sept-23 06:28:55

Morning all from a warm West Oxfordshire. Commiserations to those with difficult news and well done to those with good news.
Our cleaner will be here today. I have a WI committee meeting early evening so must prepare for that. Afterwards I have booked to watch a zoom lecture on Belgravia. Have a good day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 06-Sept-23 06:25:37

Good morning everyone, it’s fine and dry again.

I didn’t do very much at all yesterday so I’m going to have to do it today, we are away on Friday so that only leaves today and tomorrow to get everything washed, ironed, clean the house and get packed.

A dog walk early I hope, if she wants to go out, she usually decides she need to go out around 2pm which will be too hot really, but when she needs to go, she really does need to go.

Shopping delivery early with odds and ends and that my day.

Hope you soon feel better Mick it’s an up and down journey for you at the monent I’m sure.

Have a good day everyone, thoughts are with those who aren’t feeling so chipper today. For everyone else, be careful out there.

cornergran Wed 06-Sept-23 06:23:31

Morning Mick, morning All. Another sunny day ahead, a little cooler than yesterday if the forecast is right.

Been awake since 3, oh dear. Admin for me when our cleaners have gone on their way, New contracts to source and general catching up. Mr C is finding the heat difficult and I hope will rest. We enjoyed a late afternoon half an hour on the sea front yesterday when both temperature and people had reduced. May try that again. See how the day goes after the anticipated call from then surgery.

Excellent news ash. Hope you’re more settled today mick. Shame there’s not a local t’ai chi group better suited to your experience mattie. Must be frustrating.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

multicolourswapshop Wed 06-Sept-23 06:19:36
