Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in brackley at the moment but remains dry.
I have been experiencing problems bowel wise , today I need to sort out a few things laundry etc.
Take Care,
Mick

harrigran Thu 07-Sept-23 07:39:36

Good morning from an overcast NE.
I am feeling completely washed out with five days of bowel problems, you have my sympathy Mick, it is very draining.
Yesterday it was good to be in the supermarket, so much cooler than outside.
After lunch thought I would have another go at ringing the bank and managed to speak to a human on the complaints line. An hour on the phone and it transpires they had no record of my transaction, either my bank lost it or the ISA team did. Fourteen weeks of chasing them and they told me to pop my copy of the papers in the post and they will sort it.
Emailed the solicitor again about the POA, they ignored my last one, I think eighteen weeks is a long time to wait.
The whole street is celebrating, the second hand car dealer, who purloined all the parking spaces, did a Moonlight flit on Sunday night.
Going to have a quiet day and finish my novel.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a very humid Black Country, where it was hard to sleep.

Great day yesterday with a friend to Hereford. Went on the train as you have a 1/3rd off with the Rail Card. Walk and coffee along the river, visit to the Cathedral, lunch in a pub garden. Perfect, as the sun shone all day.

Thursday walk this morning with a group, with a coffee and chat at the end.

Yes, I would be intrigued to know where those meringues were hiding Foxy

I agree with other Mick a call to your GP is necessary.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good morning from Shropshire.Another hot day was forecast but it has just started raining.I have just checked the weather forecast and now rain until 11am then back to the heat🥵

A pleasant day yesterday with lunch out after dropping H at school. They just do half days in the nursery class. We then had a sit in the cool of their village church before collecting both children.DGD is coping better than expected with the enforced rest after her head injury.

Today a quiet day until early evening when I have an Opthalmology appointment.I always worry before these appointments so hoping all goes well.

I would suggest phoning the nurse at the hospital department you have the contact details for Mick.

Glad you found the meringues foxy!Wondering where they were🤔

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Gingster Thu 07-Sept-23 07:35:17

Good morning all .

Not too hot at the moment so I’ll walk the dog and scurry home.
I have bowls club which is in an a/c hall so that will be pleasant.

We might take a walk along the river later as it’s woody and shady and might be a bit cooler.

A few poorlies on here this morning. Rest up and keep cool.

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Like everyone before me, I really do think you need to get medical advice Mick - we surely can't all be wrong! But if you carry on like this you're body is not retaining the nutrients it needs, and you will become very poorly again.
I don't envy you all with that heat! I think I prefer the day of 'mist' that we had here yesterday. The sun eventually broke through for an hour at 6pm when I went to the pond to feed the fish. Otherwise a very nothing sort of day.
Loving the photos again sago. (I look forward to your next holiday!). I never cease to be amazed at how the things the Romans built 2,000 years ago still stands. Comparisons are odious, I know, but .......
Is that dust from the Sahara again karma?
Grandmattie words fail me regarding that management company! Their "coyness" surely amounts to criminality in the way they appear to have deliberately withheld information from you all. I feel so sorry for you and your fellow residents.
Today is Tai chi followed by shopping and should be followed by plum harvesting. I also have a load of washing in the machine which will be ready to hang out soon - but while I've been writing this the mist has enveloped us again and the bottom of the field is fast disappearing from view. Oh well, I shall discover if washing can dry in the mist I suppose 😉
Enjoy your Indian summer everyone.
Oh, and foxy - where did you find them?

Pittcity Thu 07-Sept-23 07:32:47

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Not a cloud in the sky and 26° forecast.
Thursday is my housework day but thankfully there's less to do this week as the men aren't here to make a mess. The washing machine is on and the ironing will be done before it gets too hot. I'm wearing clothes that I'd put away for next summer and had to get out again. Looks like they'll be put away again next week.
Love to all 🦩 x

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Sept-23 07:30:25

Morning all

Mick sorry to hear you are experiencing dodgy bowels again, hopefully it will settle soon.

I am off to the hairdresser this morning, I have a photo of a short graduated bob that I an absolute love… Am I brave enough having taken a year to grow out a bob 🤣🤣🤣

I am enjoying this late summer, (((hugs))) to those in need along with the hot and bothered

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

cornergran Thu 07-Sept-23 07:27:14

Morning Mick, morning All from a warm, humid corner of Somerset.

Did little admin yesterday, my brain definitely out of gear. Will have another go today. Enjoyed an hour on a cooling sea front late in the day. May try that again today.

Safe trip home sago, I’ve enjoyed hearing about your travels.
Where were those elusive meringues hiding foxy? Another here thinking some medical advice would be sensible mick.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

BlueSapphire Thu 07-Sept-23 07:26:35

Good morning everyone from a brightening Northampton; another hot sunny day forecast.

The fencers did a sterling job yesterday in the heat, and finished early afternoon; I now have a lovely new side fence, and a well repaired back garden fence. I can now put my bird feeder back up, and no worries about the fence blowing over on windy days. They also straightened up my side gate, readjusted the latch and bolt, and planed a bit off the side, as it as prone to sticking.

As it was such a nice warm day yesterday I decided to wash my mattress topper, and it dried beautifully. Will probably put a load in the machine shortly.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning, and will then take it easy and sit in the shade reading. No dance classes today; our teacher is taking a break.

May Thursday be kind to us.

monk08 Thu 07-Sept-23 07:26:13

Good morning all from an overcast Black country but still very warm.
Mick I'm another who thinks you should contact your GP or your hospital team.
Sago have a safe trip home I have really enjoyed your photos of your time in Spain.
No plans as yet the garden is all up to scratch lawns mowed deadheading and weeds sorted so it looks like I might start another book.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

brook2704 Thu 07-Sept-23 07:25:32

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny Inverness, a high of 25 forecast for later today
Oh my goodness WWM what a night you had but pleased things are a bit better now
DGD stayed over last night so it’ll be school drop off first thing and then back home. This afternoon I’ve got one of my volunteering sessions online, a virtual clinic where I’m a patient with a scenario to act out, it’s the first time I’ve done this by myself so hope all goes well !
Hope everyone is ok in all the heat further south, take care everyone
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 07-Sept-23 07:20:26

Blindly Whitewave, I hope you’re feeling better this morning!

Whitewavemark2 Thu 07-Sept-23 07:18:23

Good morning from a hot 21c South Downs. A better night last night, as the previous night I was up tramping the streets with my poor dog who had severe tummy trouble and won’t go in his garden. So I was out every couple of hours from 1am, the final trip out at 6am (DH took over then) when I tripped and fell grazing my knee badly causing it to bleed and jarred my shoulder and wrist. So we have all slept like tops last night. Knee has stopped bleeding and all the bruising is out.

Nothing planned during the day as it is really too hot to do anything exerting outdoors. So today is a day of relaxing after the morning walk.

Peace and harmony to all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 07-Sept-23 07:17:11

Morning all from a warm and muggy West Oxfordshire. Yesterday was a bit hopeless. First our cleaner was unwell so couldn’t come. OH did a bit of hoovering. I wasn’t the full picnic so did very little. I asked someone else to take the notes at the WI committee meeting. All I managed to do was listen on zoom to a talk on Belgravia, which was excellent. I am feeling more perky today but find this type of weather difficult. We have booked lunch at our favourite restaurant, so we’ll see. I am seeing friends this evening and will hopefully get an update on our friend who is seriously ill. She is still experiencing a lot of pain. Have a good day, especially those such as Urms who are suffering in myriad ways.

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Sept-23 07:11:58

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and very misty. I think the dust is from the Sahara karma. Mick I'm another who thinks you should seek medical advice. Sago your tales and photos of your Spanish trip have been lovely.
Yesterday was a lovely day. The clouds lifted by early afternoon and it was a sunny end to the day. I met art friends for lunch at Nick Nairn's refitted restaurant in Bridge of Allan. It was practically empty and when we saw the prices, we realised why. I had a very nice cauliflower dish but it was seriously over priced. However it didn't stop us having a really good chat and we only left at four o'clock having met at twelve thirty. Later I visited mum who was fairly alert.
Today I need to withdraw money from the bank to pay the gardener tomorrow. Then a quick stop at Marks and Spencer for cake as I have a visitor coming this afternoon. I bumped into a former colleague who I was at university with many many years ago, so invited her for a coffee. Gammon steak for dinner later. Have a good day all

Grammaretto Thu 07-Sept-23 07:06:32

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 13°c and cloudy. England really is another country smile
A coastal walk today with U3A.

I gave up trying to book a course online yesterday and resorted to the phone instead. Success!

I shall miss your Spanish photos sago
I agree Mick you should ask your GP for advice. You need to be able to get out and about
Hoping everyone has a happy day.

karmalady Thu 07-Sept-23 06:47:04

yes GM, the air is not nice. Hard to sleep too and not at all good for health

grandMattie Thu 07-Sept-23 06:42:53

So the dust is why the sunrise is looking so threatening, karma! I really don’t like the look of it….

Jaxjacky Thu 07-Sept-23 06:33:58

Morning from S Hants, too warm in bed, so up and downstairs windows opened.
Bedding to wash, defrost some chicken for dinner, an early walk and that’s me.
Smashing picture Sago have a pleasant journey home.
We had a lovely meal on the beach last night, it felt quite ‘continental’, very busy with families and groups sitting, swimming, paddle boarding all in a twilight glow.
May those struggling have a gentle day 🦩🦩

karmalady Thu 07-Sept-23 06:31:34

Good morning from s somerset and a bright red, dust -filled sky and very noisy seagulls

Sago, just to say that I have very much enjoyed your holiday descriptions and photos

I won`t be doing much at all today, I want to keep my cool

Have a good day

kittylester Thu 07-Sept-23 06:21:31

Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire.

I am helping at a Memory Cafe this morning - the 2nd time this week - a clever ploy to escape the kitchen work.

This evening we are having 'Garden Drinks' with the neighbours. It's a tradition we have carried on since lockdown.

grandMattie Thu 07-Sept-23 06:20:52

Picture QUIZ

grandMattie Thu 07-Sept-23 06:20:20

Good morning from a dawning, clear, hot Bristol. It is about 19C already.
I went to a ladies group yesterday afternoon, feeling washed out from the heat. The talk was “Picture quill, which I expected to be interesting. If you were local, no problem. I recognised one thing, and dozed the rest of the talk. I hope it wasn’t too obvious, and that I didn’t snore! Several ladies were raving at how interesting it was….
At Specsavers, the computer wouldn’t let the young man input my prescription- too weird - so I was packed off and they did it in the next hour or so. A fortnight to wait, no sunglasses.
My solicitor reassured me that she had done everything to the book, ditto the surveyor. It is the management that has been a bit coy with the information. Not sure how I’ll proceed from now.
Today, different tai chi class; dinner with DD and family.
Have a quiet, renewing day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Ashcombe Thu 07-Sept-23 06:13:22

Good morning from a very warm corner of the Sarthe.

Each day we have to remain indoors from noon until about 7.00 pm because it feels like a sauna outside. Al fresco breakfast and dinner have become the routine.

I hope you’re over the worst of your bowel problems, Mick but seeking medical advice would be advisable. .

Safe travels, Sago and enjoy your mini cruise home! Another super photo.

Many thanks to all of you for your supportive comments regarding olddudders. He is progressing well, as shown by him spending an hour working on his model railway yesterday. This morning he brought TIB after we’d slept for eight hours!

Our British cleaner/gardener has decided it's too hot to work today. (The house is remarkably cool!) She isn’t reliable but does feed the cats when we’re away. It looks like I’ll have to run the vac round, etc.

Take care and keep cool! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩

Foxygloves Thu 07-Sept-23 06:12:59

Good morning Mick and all to come.
Oof!
My Dyson fan has been on all night ((not for me, you understand but poor Rosie was panting so much at bedtime I was quite worried for her)
So, another scorchio. 🥵 🥵
I have my second treatment on my PF this morning and think that will be me for today!
Mick a phone call to either the Cancer or IBD nurse or department at the hospital would be a good idea and wise precaution, don’t you think?
With kind thoughts to all with worries or in pain, I hope you all have a pleasant day.
PS for anybody who knew I’d lost them - I have found the meringues!
