Unblocking shower drain

My drain is constantly getting blocked due to my long hair - and I struggle to unclog it as I cannot bend very well.

I am looking for an unclogger liquid that is safe for my biodigester. The ones I have looked at online say safe for all pipes, but that does not cover my concern. Has anyone found something that might be suitable?

No, nothing works apart from physically cleaning out the shower trap and cutting hair shorter.

Buy a drain snake at the pound shop or online. You can get all the accumulated hair out of the drain without using strong chemicals.

I bought a plastic mesh mat (like this one) and cut it to fit across the drain under the cap.
This traps any hair and I can clean it off easily each day.

Veet hair remover - put some down the plughole, it will dissolve the hairs in much the same way it does for hair on armpits or legs

I have ordered a shower drain cover from amazon - thanks for the idea - in fact it is hard to find one to fit as it is a walk-in shower with a large plughole that already has a solid cover on it, but it lets in water around the edges. I will try the one I have ordered and hope for the best.

It sounds like my Dad's shower in his apartment.
I clean it out every so often for him, fortunately he doesn't have long hair!

I think that the mesh /trap is a great idea .

I discovered Veet after the shower drain was blocked with hair from three long haired women living in the house !
I'd leave it in the drain overnight .
