Good morning from a dry clear Suffolk. Disappointed not to have woken up to sun as yesterday was glorious. We had a lovely walk on the common and,as usual, delicious coffee and cake.

I made a start in the afternoon of tidying up the garden. I was shamed into starting to do so when the driver of our weekly Waitrose order had to almost fight his way to the front door through the still lovely but straggling Cosmos on one side of it and the Golden Rod on the other.

Hope today is a good one for all especially those unwell or with worries.

I will think of you multi this afternoon. I hope you can draw comfort from the companionship at your church attending this special but poignant service.

Dull and windy with some rain in s somerset, I need to lighten my own day

I did the last of the garden bending yesterday, quick, before I got zillions of seeds scattered all over. One small bit of easy stuff to do in my slightly raised beds, then I will cover them and bobs yer uncle, all done and dusted until march. I was achey yesterday and am achey again, the garden plus the damp

Disappointed when I realised my `hippy` practice garment was too baggy with gorilla arms. Up until midnight as I never give up, sorted it, pattern will be modified and another practice garment cut later. I won`t touch my precious new fabric until I get perfection. I have a nice fulfilling project for today and the archers

Have a good day

Good morning all and it’s chillier with a choppy sea and breezy, here on the Suffolk coast.
Yesterday was beautiful and we got a lot of work done in the garden. I’m feeling it now !
More to do today.

I started my book club book ‘Conclave’ about election of a new Pope and all the shenanigans that go on. I think I’m going to like it.

Watched Strictly - which I wasn’t bothered about - and enjoyed it. Lots of different celebs and a lot of potentially good dancers.
What about Angela Rippons leg! Wow!

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday and take care 🌻

Morning Mike glad to hear your health seems to be improving it’s been very rainy throughout the night here on the east coast of Fife with moderate rain forecast for later on.
It’s going to be a bittersweet day today my church is holding a bereavement service this afternoon.
I’ll be thinking of my dear husband of near 53 yrs when he sadly passed away in January. He’s left me with so many memories, 2 children and 6 grandchildren

Have a good day my friends think of me this afternoon sad

Foxygloves Sun 24-Sept-23 07:54:49

Good morning all from cool and overcast Foxyland. It is however forecast to be warm in London today -so layers I suppose. I’m meeting up with the family for a surprise lunch for my sister in law at a Brazilian restaurant/tapas bar called Tia Maria in Vauxhall. Never eaten Brazilian before although I have a Brazilian niece living São Paulo from BIL’s first marriage.
Yesterdays clothes “transhumance” was accomplished and the bags for the charity shop good to go next week. Memo to self, do NOT let myself be tempted by any more knitwear! If I wear two or three at a time it will save on my heating bill though.
Wishing you all a peaceful and pleasant Sunday with especial thoughts for the unwell, unhappy and lonely.
Sundays can be hard

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another cloudy day with showers expected.
Some ironing to do after breakfast, then off to the next town where a friend is taking the Church service. It’s the 50th anniversary of his ordination. Then quickly back to the village for Sunday Lunch Club, a pub roast dinner for village residents who live alone.
Still no gardening done, too showery yesterday, so hopefully I will get some done later.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a dull Black country where it rained overnight.
Today DGS2 is 5 we will see him later at DiLs mums , he wants a party with all of his cousins.

Good morning everyone from a dry but chilly south Manchester.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning all from grey Harrogate
What a faff GrandMattie not being in Control of your own flat!!
Yesterday I had my flu jab, today I have the sniffles so had better stay at home, just attend to the piles of ironing. Maybe try VM once more to get the internet on our TV working - if I can understand the customer service help line, one lady suggested it would be easier if I understood Indian!!!
Have the best day possible folks

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 24-Sept-23 07:45:48

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’ve no idea what the weather is like! I had a lovely day in London yesterday with daughter, elder son and granddaughter. A delicious lunch at a Persian restaurant and a couple of hours at the Open Day at the Transport Museum in Acton. A quieter day today. I’ll probably make a beer stew and strawberry crumble for dinner.
I’m thinking of those who are having difficulties or heartbreak at the moment. Especially the Urms and MaryD.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 24-Sept-23 07:39:48

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Oxfordshire, I had a busy day baking, cooking for the freezer and bed changing along with dog walking yesterday, so a more restful day today.

We will have to move some pots later in the garden and move some cars around as the tree chaps will be here first thing in the morning to hedge and tree trim.

Apart from that a rest full day and it looks as though it’s started to rain.
GM what can I say? What a pain your management company are, pleased though that you have settled down in Bristol. You have such a ‘can do’ attitude and must be a blessing to your Church, especially as the regulars seem to take a back seat when the real work starts.
Hope everyone enjoys their day, safe travels to those on the move, enjoy family get togethers and birthday parties for those who have them and a gentle hug for those with worries, stress and ill health.

ginny Sun 24-Sept-23 07:36:40

Good morning.
I’m not sure if it is wet out but it is certainly windy again.
Had a very busy day with the two smallest DGS yesterday but very enjoyable.
Today we must do a small food shop and a couple of jobs .
Early evening we are off for a family dinner to celebrate DGS1 turning 21 last Thursday.
Good wishes to all, hope the day is kind.

Good morning everyone from a gorgeous sunny day in Basel
We had a similar pigeon silhouette on our window at home gMattie we saw it fly into the window with a big thud, it rested a while and then it just flew away again.
We had a lovely day yesterday just chilling and relaxing in the sunshine. DH cooked for us last night and we had a really nice family evening together. Today we’re off up into the mountains somewhere for a little walk and lunch in a mountain cafe
Hoping all goes well at the party today Susan - enjoy the fun!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Sun 24-Sept-23 07:19:39

Morning Mick, morning All from a very damp corner of Somerset. With luck it will clear later, hope so.

Its one of those mornings when I think what did I do yesterday? Ah yes, a heap of ironing, some admin, cleaned out the bottom of two wardrobes and had a very good lunch at our little garden centre.

No real plans for today other than to do much less! Our Welsh friend is unwell, at my insistence she tested and yes, it’s covid. I’ll call her at some point, her health is precarious and she lives alone. I’ve no idea why but she listens to me, todays suggestion will be to make her kind (and young!) neighbours aware as they will shop for her and also to contact her surgery in the morning. She’s very bad at self care at the best of times. We are worried, it feels strange as this is the first time she’s been so unwell and we can’t go to her.

Safe trip back tomorrow ash. It can be very frustrating not to have control of things in your home mattie. Hope the party goes well susan.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 24-Sept-23 07:18:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and wet. All three of us are sitting on the couch watching dgs2's favourite programme Bluey or Bleurgh as he calls it. They haven't been up for long and both slept all night. Yesterday was busy but fun, walk, swings, garden etc. Today they will be picked up at some point. I'm not sure what we'll get up to til then. Then I shall collapse on to the couch. Have a good day all

Pittcity Sun 24-Sept-23 07:18:37

Good morning from a cloudy but dry and mild Colchester.
I had my Covid booster yesterday and feel yuk this morning. I slept badly as my arm was painful.
I've taken a couple of paracetamol but may have to miss watching DGS3 playing football this morning. See how I feel.
Love to all 🦩 x

Susan56 Sun 24-Sept-23 06:53:35

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday was a busy day and quite tiring.H was very emotional and tired.I hope the sleepovers went well for Grandmabatty and glammagran.

We are up early today to do food preparation for the party then will leave at 10 to collect the sandwich platters then on to DD’s house for the party.I can’t believe he’s 4 either cornergran, the time has flown by😢

It sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday Ash.

Thoughts with all who are struggling.

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Ashcombe Sun 24-Sept-23 06:34:10

Good morning from Rugeley where it’s dark but breezy.

I love your poetic description of the leaves, Mizuna!

I’m glad you’ve had reassuring advice, Mick.

Thanks, grandMattie; we travel home tomorrow but no pressure to be home for a time. I thought your comment regarding the low turnout for cleaning at church was revealing. They must be glad you’re such a stalwart.

We enjoyed seeing our friends yesterday then having lunch with my DS and lady. She was good company: bright and articulate and seems to have the measure of DS! We both warmed to her over the couple of hours we spent together and hope this will last!

Afterwards, back at the hotel, DH and I slept for two hours: the stresses of Friday’s journey had caught up with us!

Today, DH will be at the Model Railway Show at Stafford show ground whilst I shall meet up with DS and DGS. Unfortunately, another friend I’d hoped to see has Covid.

Well wishes for those having tough times, especially Marydoll, Urmstongran and Kalu.

Have a blessed Sunday! 🦩💐 ✝️🥰🦩

grandMattie Sun 24-Sept-23 06:11:08

Good morning from a damp Bristol. Not looked out but I think it’s wet, I heard rain on my window.
The sun shone directly on my living room window yesterday and I was ashamed of my filthy glass. Closer inspection revealed the ghostly outline of a bird, dusty pigeon? It must have hit the glass. Probably survived as I saw no trace of it on the pavement.
The Dorset apple 🍎 cake went down well yesterday, but attendance was low as parishioners had been asked to help with the clean! After church this morning, I shall do my Spanish homework and some cleaning. I’ve got a rather busy week ahead.
I hope your journey home is better Ash. And, re. Bathroom, my hands are tied as my leasehold flat structure is the responsibility of the management company. I just react to their patronising comments and unconcerned slow responses…
My continuing prayers for those in need, Urms, Marydoll, kalu, apologies to those I have missed.

Mizuna Sun 24-Sept-23 05:58:02

Good morning from a dark, wet, windy Cornwall. The trees outside my window are swaying and the street lights reflected on the wet leaves make them look like they're dancing. Glad you're feeling some improvement Mick.

My knee didn't agree with an allotment trip yesterday but I'll keep living in hope of getting there eventually!

Today I'll potter with more sewing, am covering the arms of a metal chair using foam piping bought in the plumbing section of a DIY store, and will cover it with stitched denim. To church at 4pm, with the knitted cafetiere covers, to measure them before I attach the button tabs.

Michael12 Sun 24-Sept-23 05:49:00

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but a dry start here brackley this morning.
