Good morning from grey-skied Somerset, my last day here so we’re painting at Wells Cathedral today. It’s been a lovely week with a group of friendly people, many of whom have been painting for years.
I’m hoping that the weather holds for today.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s cool but not actually raining at the moment.

What a wonderful thing to do Mizuna.

Marydoll enjoy your day with Dollie and I hope you feel better.

We will take the daft dug over to DD’s later today where she’ll stay for a couple of days. I hope she doesn’t annoy one of their cats who is wobbly from having been dosed with methadone by the vet after having a nasty leg abscess drained. The vet reckons it was caused by a cat bite so she must have been in a skirmish poor thing.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Morning all, it was really windy here in S E Essex from 10-12pm last night then it calmed down, this morning it is very very dark grey!

No plans, I didn’t sleep well and feel decidedly off if it doesn’t rain I will walk to Aldi for a few food bits.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Marydoll, at the interview the organisers mentioned in passing that references take ages to come in and that's why the whole process can take so long.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but it seems calmer after last night when it was blowing a hoolie! I’m not sure there will be much standing in the garden. I can’t do my usual Thursday morning walk because for some reason the chiropodist appointment that I thought was tomorrow is today. I may go over to the park this afternoon and have a walk, weather permitting. I’ll miss the company, though☹️.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from a grey ish North Leicestershire.

Ironing for me today and a Sainsbury's delivery. DS2 is 50 (!!!) today but is away so we won't see him.

It is also DGD4's 10th birthday. We will see her at the weekend when we take her shopping. She loves stationery so time will be spent in Smiggle!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a very wet and windy Glasgow, where it is 12°.

I have decanted to the spare room, (after climbing over the many charity bags) due to my excessive coughing, to give DH some peace, although he wouldn't even hear a bomb going off!.
Many of my clothes no longer fit me 😔 and I know in my heart they never will, so I have been ruthless. Someone is going to get a few gems, when they go charity shop shopping.

We have Dollie 😍 today, because of the strike. She is bringing her homework, I can't wait!! 😉
Her topic is The Titanic, a topic on which DH is very knowledgeable. He used to be a member of the Titanic Historical Society Inc. in the USA.
I have set up a book template for her on my PC, so the morning should pass quickly. I used to enjoy doing similar projects with my pupils.

I'm glad you had DD to support you, but what a lot of fuss, GM.
Susan, I hope H has a lovely morning with you and Mizuna, that's great your referees are on the ball, I can wait weeks to get references back and it slows the whole process down.

I wish you all a pleasant day and as always my thoughts are with those with a mountain to climb. I think I may be stuck at the bottom today! 😉

Ash, I’m not holding my breath. My aim for Easter doesn’t seem so silly after all.
Yes, I’m keeping all emails very carefully. Everything is either in the diary or in my mailbox. Yesterday was the only face to face meeting I’ve had with the management; I don’t count this with the warden, who is only the messenger…

Good morning, dry and cloudy today but humidity will be quite high with very gusty winds

I am pre-washing and gentle tumbling, bargain fabric lengths today, had to get them at such cheap prices and such good quality. They are end of season and deadstock. Later I will start to catalogue, fold and tidy away. I need to keep a record so I keep track

A walk is on the cards later, otherwise it is just a pottering day

Have a good day

Good morning from a mild South Downs. Forecast another mild day. I have had to retrieve a few summer weight clothes from the cupboard as it is far too warm to wear heavier weight stuff.

Dog now has harvest mites, so I’ve ordered a spray, and soaking his rear end (where they are residing) in hibiscrub which gives him relief. What a year for parasites!! I think he got most of it in the New Forest.

Today I’m having my haircut and then the covid jab. Might potter into Waitrose - just up the road from the polyclinic - and get something easy and delicious for dinner. Otherwise it is beetroot, bulgar wheat and feta salad, which I suppose is easy enough really.
I might also get some ingredients for sister birthday meal next Tuesday. Having a selection of tapas for a change.

More bulbs for pots have arrived - I am all behind somehow with the garden this autumn - must get moving.

mizuma 🥇for your volunteering.

Peace and harmony to all

Good morning from Shropshire. The wind seems to have died down but I noticed the climbing roses around our neighbours front door are a victim of Agnes.

Today is H’s 4th birthday. He does afternoons at school so we are going over to take him to Smyths Toy Superstore this morning. He has been asking to go for ages and we had said we would take him on his birthday.

I am glad the meeting went well grandMattie but what a blooming palaver🤯

Mizuna I hope you get the volunteering role you would like.

Thoughts with Grandmabatty and all going through difficult times💐

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay following a very windy afternoon!

Wednesday Club went well, enlivened by the presence of the director of Spider's Web, who regaled us with anecdotes about the rehearsals and some of the players. Later, I was pleased to reunite with some members not seen for some years, as we gathered to read through Cranford at Christmas.

A well captured photograph, Mizuna and a most noble plan of yours to support terminally ill patients.

Let’s hope you'll have your bathroom completed this side of Christmas, grandMattie. Are you recording the dates of all these meetings and interventions? Enjoy your family time this evening!

A calmer day for all, I hope! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning Mick Mizuna and all who follow from the Black country dark but dry start here today.
Early today DH is fishing so I have an empty not sure of plans yet may take a trip to the outlet have birthday money to spend and would like some new Sketchers.

Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a dry Bristol. We only had a couple of squalls and some wind in the daylight hours, no idea about hurricane Agnes’ misbehaviour overnight.
The meeting with Mr. Teflon went well, DD was in attendance wearing her dog collar to give more authority! At the time, he was very helpful, not least accepting the floor plan from the estate agent, rather than me paying some £300 for the plumber’s designer to do it. On reflection, he’s done exactly as his moniker suggests, kicked everything into the long grass again. Ah well…
Reading between the lines, this is all about a very new surveyor who wants to earn her stripes and doubles checks everything…. Good for her, but why me? And why the extensive time scale? Probably another two months before I can book the plumber…. It was mid-June when they received my application.
The rest of the day was spent pottering and getting on really well with the first of three very pink patchworks.
Today, early haircut here. I can’t decide whether to keep my longer hair or go back to very short hair.
Tai chi later, the dinner with DD. Iris’s birthday is on Monday, she will be 11! Doesn’t time fly?
Mizuna, what an admirable thing to volunteer for. It will give families so much comfort if they can’t stay themselves.
Gentle thoughts to those in distress. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and all, an early start from a dark, wet, Cornwall. Stayed in yesterday, unusual for me, knitting, watching films and enjoying a blackbird pair eating the red berries off my pyracantha just outside my window. They gorged all day, returning every few minutes. I don't know how their stomachs coped!

Today I'm back at the hospital, to have my police check completed. My referees promptly returned their documents to the volunteer office yesterday. I'm considering applying to volunteer to sit with terminal patients to give their family respite in the final hours, but you have to be carefully selected for that, understandably. Also I'd like to help any way I can on the general wards.
