I write a weekly journal.
I am writing my memoirs for my daughter to have a lasting legacy of her background.
My best friend and I write letters as we are 250 miles from each other.
I write a shopping list and a calendar plus a diary. Pretty full on.

I have about 20 pen pals so I write long letters most days. I also love using beautiful stationery! I write in my journal most days as well, and all about my various trips (with picture postcards), lists at the back of events I’ve been to, movies I’ve watched and the rating, books I’ve read..I find writing things down is soothing.

I wrote 30 short letters on Monday, another 40 today and hopefully a similar number on Friday. It’s part of my job. All orders get a handwritten letter included.
I hate my handwriting and strive to write neatly but I do need to be speedy too.

At first I thought I never write, but then I saw the other replies, silly me shopping list, birthday cards etc but I have not written an actual letter for years, a friend of mine wrote in pen and ink to a penfriend abroad for 30 years. The one word I dread is writing 'happy' it always looks untidy when I write it so I sign my name with a flourish and hope they do not noticd the untidy word.

Daily lists, anything that needs to go in my diary eg appointments, shifts at work, etc, messages to pass on at work, couple of crosswords each day, etc.
Last year I wrote an account of my childhood in the sixties and early seventies. Both my late Dad and late Granny were great story tellers but never wrote anything down and I wanted my family to have a written account as these things are easily forgotten.
When my husband died very unexpectedly in his early fifties I kept a daily account of how I felt and stopped about a year later when my Dad, who was terminally ill, moved in with me. Initially it was so difficult as he was very poorly for the first three weeks (we believe he probably had covid but it was never diagnosed) and I stopped writing. I did glance at one of the last installments recently when I was sorting through things and it was heartbreaking.
Used to write to my husband as we lived in different countries for a couple of years and whenever he was away on military exercise we wrote to each other even though we had mobile phones and computers. Still have all his letters to me and the ones I sent him but cannot bring myself to read them.
Wrote my son a letter on his wedding day three years ago.
My son and his wife each wrote a letter to their baby on her first birthday and will continue to do so as she grows up.

I'm left-handed and have never been particularly proud of my handwriting, which is entirely legible but not as neat as it used to be. Normally, I make notes and lists, write birthday cards etc., but nothing extensive. Otherwise, it's on the devices.
Recently I addressed about 100 envelopes for the political party which I support. I think it did improve with practice.

I write all the time. Lists...and then lists about my lists! I write reminders in a note book and I keep a diary every day. I don't send letters anymore as my friends in the USA and I now email but I love to write and I worry that no one does enough of it anymore!

I wrote a letter to my 10 year old grand daughter wo lives 400 miles away in Staffordshire She took it into school to show her teacher. Her teacher said I was a beautiful writer.

Last week I made a note of an appointment to have blood tests soon and I also wrote a birthday card to my great nephew who has just turned 10 .

I usually jot down notes several times a day, but very rarely write anything long these days, and my handwriting, which was never great, is definitely deteriorating.

I write shopping lists and 'to do' lists but that is about it. My writing is not good and I would prefer to type it on the pc and then print it and send it. It's so stressful for me to try and handwrite something for someone else that it's not worth it and I probably wouldn't do it.

Every day

I use a diary and wrote in a journal. Will sometimes write to friends, as well.
Still send Birthday and Christmas Cards.

I journal everyday - not a diary - but make notes of interest, books I want to read, record a recipe I want to try, make a list of boy/girl names for new family baby, a good quote I want to remember, references to things I want to investigate, lists of gifts I’ve given at Christmas/birthdays, music notations… All Kinds Of Things!!

It’s like my personal encyclopedia. It only takes a few minutes each, but I don’t want to forget certain things of interest.

I also send lots of cards and thank you notes. Who doesn’t love getting things in the mail?

Do I write letters? Why ask when a glance at my pen holding hand shows a clerk’s callus.

I write shopping lists, lists of things to do, lists of questions for DH's oncologist, but apart from that I no longer write by hand.

Due to deterioration of my eyesight, my handwriting is awful these days, and I have never subscribed to the view that a hand-written letter is better or preferable to a typed one, or an e-mail.

Letters should be a joy to write and to read, and my handwriting being what it is these days, mine would be neither if I wrote them by hand.

I was once told by an else friend of my mum to write every day. It’s a skill that’s easily lost. I keep a journal, write when I have something to say, reading journal, after every book read and a yearbook for the family events also write events and appointments on the wall calendar. Sometimes my writing resembles my younger writing sometimes it doesn’t. Reinforcing what my my mum’s friend told me.

I keep a diary and also a weekly to do list.I have just written a note to my granddaughter.

I study online different subjects to keep my brain active so I spend a lot of time taking notes. I don’t keep a diary for personal stuff I just write on a calendar things to do trivia appointments etc.

I write "by hand" almost every day. A small appointment diary, lists, notes (mostly to self!), letters (occasionally), & greetings cards. Pens are located all over the house , but they still go "walkabout"....

Occasional greeting card and I write all my lists and reminders on my mobile now.

Shopping list, birthday card and envelope, reminder chalk board in the kitchen for adding anything we’re running out of.
All within the last day or two.

It’s over 20 odd years ago now, but when I was first facing OU exams (4 essays to write in 3 hours) I was so unused to handwriting anything more than a shopping list, I had to consciously practise writing (legibly!) at length. Which was a tall order, since my handwriting was never great shakes anyway.
My hand actually ached at first!

I write a page a day journal and have them filed all neatly in order in my study/cum office. So if the police came and asked me where I was on the night of the murder I could tell them approximately what I did. Having said that my handwriting is very difficult to decipher and I tend to write in between and over the lines.

I find it much easier to write on the computer because I can see the words in front of me. Words make patterns on the paper and patterns in the mind. Its not a skill I would want to lose.

Yesterday I wrote thank you cards to two regular customers who had very kindly given me retirement gifts. On work days I wrote screeds in the handover diary.

I write lists daily and jot down notes when taking phone calls.

I have pens and paper scattered all around the house.

I am a dedicated list writer so everyday. We also do 2 crosswords daily.
