Good Morning Everyone,
Dark but dry out here in brackley this morning.
I had my flu and covid jabs yesterday afternoon , the manager of the residental home where I live , knock on door telling me surgery was paying a visit to give jabs , given both in shoulders still feeling pain on left which was the Covid one .
Today , no change to what I normally do , but I am finding taking the loperamide capsules does help my system .
Take Care,
Mick

Next ones are from Barri where the women make and sell pasta in the street. I think Gordon Gino and Fred went there for one of their programmes. Lovely old town with narrow winding streets.

Oops pressed to soon Matera where people lived in caves till 1950’s when they were compulsorly moved out. Another UNICEF village. So many difficult old steep stairs to get down to the caves.

Good afternoon from Puglia. Have had a busy few days. Fantastic place. Some more photos. First ones are from

Good morning Mck and everyone from rainy Lancashire. Just a flying visit as we are going for our Covid vaccinations this morning.

Grandmachrisy47 Thu 05-Oct-23 09:24:13

It’s a grey, wet day here in Co Durham. Slept till 8 this morning, very unusual for me. No dgd and dogs today. Might swap summer and winter wardrobes.
Hope the appointment has wood outcome Baubles. 🤞crossed for your bathroom grandMattie. Glad you found your key, Grandmabatty. Safe journey, luluaugust. Marydoll, hope you feel better as the day progresses. Good you had no reaction to your jabs, Aggie.

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

Despite feeling well I am still testing positive for Covid, so another day in. Will get on top of housework today. My Brother is taking Mum for her Covid jab.

Quite frustrating as I have not been out now since we arrived home from Sicily last Thursday!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

aggie Thu 05-Oct-23 09:10:58

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh
Had my jabs yesterday, the queue was out the door and halfway up the street , we were so lucky that the weather was dry !
I was leaning on my walker chatting to anyone who was within striking distance , when the nurse came up and told me to skip the queue, I was having good chat so I stayed where I was
Some others in a worse state than me took advantage of her offer , I thought it was very kind of her
No reaction so far , not even a sore arm
Thoughts with Marydoll
Fingers crossed 🤞 for your bathroom grandMatie
🕯️🙏🏼💐for those that need them x

Good morning all,
A drizzly, damp, grey morning here today. Not a lot happening other than my fitness class and the supermarket shop today. There is a pile of ironing waiting, too, so will probably tackle that this afternoon.
I hope all of you feeling unwell have a better day today, and those of you venturing out have an enjoyable time.

harrigran Thu 05-Oct-23 09:06:37

Good morning from a grey, rainy NE.
DS came for lunch after a half day at work and we were able to do the shopping and return before the school run filled my street with their Chelsea tractors.
We had steak and salad for dinner and DS left at 7.30pm. He had a 45 minute drive home and an early start today so needed an early night. He still suffers with long covid and gets exhausted.
My sister arrived at Newcastle airport during rush hour yesterday plus Newcastle were Playing Paris St Germain so traffic was bad. She will be ringing me today.
I might do some washing but it will have to go in the dryer.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Another good morning from Sefton: it has been raining and looks gloomy here. Having put away some summer clothes, I heard earlier there’s a possibility the weather will warm up at the weekend. Typical…but most welcome.
Today involves minding the golden retriever, having a swim and meeting friends. Oh, and there’s a small matter of deciding exactly which handbag - of those I have purchased this week 😂 - I’m going to keep for an upcoming celebration. It’s a necessary accessory under the circumstances, I feel; can you tell I’m not enthusiastic?
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where it is absolutely pouring down.
I'm glad I went into town for my various errands yesterday when the sun actually came out now and then.
I walked through M&S where I noted they had a large new stock of trousers in which looked as though they'd bear investigating shortly. I've been looking for a pair of smartish, heavier weight trousers for years and now M&S might actually have some. I did have success in the handbag department, my current summer handbag has fallen apart and I've been unsuccessfully looking for a replacement for weeks. Yesterday M&S had it so I snapped one up though it won't get much use before spring as I'm about to transition into my winter black.

Today, the ironing is about to be tackled and I may get out the vac also followed by an afternoon of reading etc.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning all, dry at the moment in Glasgow and thankfully no strong winds.

I got caught up in torrential rain yesterday. Parking close to where my appointment was is always down to luck finding a space, out of luck I had to park a short walk away and got drenched despite wearing a long hooded raincoat. Drenched again to reach my car which was by this time sitting in a lake!
Wearing full sailing gear would have been a better option.

Foutering around indoors today.

Best wishes to all for a good day along with special best wishes to all with troubles and worries, stay strong and positive.

Gingster Thu 05-Oct-23 08:30:12

Good morning all. It’s grey but dry here in Essex.

Yesterday I managed to catch a train to see my friend for coffee.
There was a strike on but one train per hour was running. Perfect for me, but not for workers 😤.

The plumber came and fixed our overflow .
Fingers crossed for your bathroom GM 🤞

Today I have my bowls group and a quiet afternoon reading, I hope!

Safe and troublefree journeys for those who are travelling
And get well wishes for those who are poorly.

Thanks, my dear friend Kate, I have try everything to help with the nausea. Unfortunately it is a symptom of congestive heart failure and nothing really helps. 😢

Grammaretto Thu 05-Oct-23 08:28:34

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Not raining. 😊

Good news gMattie! I hope it works out.

Serendipity indeed WWM!
All the best for Baubles DH today.

I managed to spend a garden voucher this week on a kneeler to help me to be able to weed and get up again.

Yoga this morning to help keep the joints mobile.

Have the best day possible everyone.

karmalady Thu 05-Oct-23 08:27:10

Good morning, today was supposed to be dry and cloudy but the washing is almost done and the weather is damp. It cannot be tumbled and is a large piece of quilted fabric which really needs to be drying outside minus sun. Fingers crossed

Flu jab this evening, only a walk away, the pop in centres are many miles away. I want to prep a bedroom today for my guests. Vegans so not the easiest of meals to cater

I did two radiators yesterday, bought a long soft radiator brush that amazingly slips smoothly down between every fin. The radiators were not as fluffy as I thought they might be. I will leave the others to next week

Transition re clothing has started and I wore smooth knee length bamboo socks, tops hidden beneath a skirt, however if I go out then it would be tights

I have enough planned for today with gaps to do as I choose on the spur of the moment

Have a good day

Alygran Thu 05-Oct-23 08:21:14

Good morning from North Yorkshire. A wet start here today.
Nothing much planned, just some ironing and housework to do before heading off to see the family at the weekend. DD2 needs some help planning her new garden flowerbed. All the old shrubs were dug out in the summer.
Wishing you all a good day.

Georgesgran Thu 05-Oct-23 08:20:46

Good morning from Durham. I did a load of washing last night ready to hang out first thing, but it’s raining. That wasn’t forecast.
Tyre pressure warning light on, so I’m off to inflate them and thinking of buying the kit to diy at home.
Little Dog here, so a walk later with him, otherwise a quiet day with some clothes to sort through.
Mick I wish you would get some professional advice on self-medicating.
A gentle day Marydoll.
Best wishes to all. X

BlueSapphire Thu 05-Oct-23 08:19:41

Good morning everyone from a grey and overcast Northampton, but sunny spells forecast later.
A good catch up with my neighbour here for coffee yesterday. Then had lunch and waited for the engineer to come and service my. burglar alarm. All complete satisfactorily in half an hour.
But then a couple of hours afterwards the alarm started going off on its own! Called him back and he soon fixed it; apparently the cover on the side door sensor had not been replaced properly after he had changed the batteries earlier.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning and then dance classes this afternoon. Before that I may swap my summer and winter wardrobes.

Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Thu 05-Oct-23 08:17:14

Good morning everyone from a bright and dry Inverness
Good news about the bathroom gMattie I hope it all goes ahead now with no further problems
Hoping your DHs appointment goes well today Baubles and everyone else with appointments and checks today too
A much quieter day today, the last two days have been really busy and I’ve lots to catch up on at home. It’s DGSs 10th birthday, he’s my eldest GC, I really don’t know where the years have gone! Thursday is a busy day with after school activities so we did presents and birthday cake last night, I really enjoyed a lovely family evening.
Marydoll I too wish there was a magic solution from your cardiologist 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Thu 05-Oct-23 08:15:36

Thank you, just watching DH trying to get the last bits in the suitcase as he decided we could only take one!

Gala Thu 05-Oct-23 08:12:16

Good morning from a dull & dreary Sefton. Rain forecast to last all day.
A busy day yesterday culminating in nursery pickup for GD2 & keeping her occupied whilst mum & dad got on with their conference calls. I now have a very pretty pink set of nails & OH a rainbow set of nails! We stayed for tea which meant I have only had to cook 1 meal this past week. Result!
Zumba this morning, then a smallish food shop, usually followed by a visit to the fish man who is away somewhere warm & exotic.🏖️ No plans fir the rest of the day apart from staying dry.
🤞 for grandM 's bathroom. Thinking of those struggling with life.

grandMattie Thu 05-Oct-23 08:11:00

Poor you, Taichi. I too suffer from tinnitus, but it is a fizzing sound 24/7, sometimes very loud, sometimes almost inaudible, but always present.

Taichinan Thu 05-Oct-23 08:07:02

Good morning all. A lovely sunrise on the Angus coast, but I must remember to take my raincoat when I go out as rain is forecast for just as we finish tai chi.
Had a dreadful night's sleep last night due to tinnitus. I had been asleep for about an hour when I was woken by a shrieking alarm. It took me a couple of minutes to realise that the noise was coming from inside my head! But that was me awake then until after 4am, so very little sleep.
I have my fingers crossed for you grandmattie, but it sounds as if you may have charmed Mr T into submission.
I thought that's where you'd find it Grandmabatty! What a relief.
I hope all goes well for your DH's appointment Baubles.
Enjoy your journey north Lulu - I used to love my train journeys up and down the country.
Have the best day you can everyone x

NanKate Thu 05-Oct-23 08:05:49

Good morning Mick and All. Warming up here in South Bucks.

Had minor eye surgery on Tuesday which was successful but has left me with an horrendous black eye that is making my usual puffy under eye droop even more. I contacted the surgeon who said it was quite normal for someone of my age !! He has told me to take arnica and in a MONTH it should have improved. At least I no longer have dripping eyes when outside.

Mary I too get a lot of nausea have you tried wearing wrist bands for car sickness? I also discovered ginger tablets too in Boots also for nausea. In addition I drink fizzy water and ginger beer when I am having a nauseous spell. It’s horrid isn’t it ?
