Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry here in brackley .
Today , I have my chiropodist at 9 , from then I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester ,after yesterdays attempt which I returned back on same bus as I went on , due the Diahorhrea, or though more settled I still get periods of wet , anyway the basic leporine capsules do not seem to give me the protection I get from the Imodium branded ones .
Take Care,
Mick

Marydoll Fri 06-Oct-23 13:29:26

Exactly, StacyAnna

Many of us on this thread have known Mick for many years and are well aware of his circumstances.
Any interference and nagging is due to a concern for a virtual friend and his health and wellbeing.

StacyAnna Fri 06-Oct-23 12:42:05

Imodium and its generics all have safety leaflets and Mick will have read them
With respect, Karmalady, I think that is what many posters are anxious about - that Mick may not have read the leaflets.

Imodium advice should only be from medics
This is exactly what many posters are emphasising. Mick has recently had a bowel op and needs to be in close contact with his hospital team.

For all Grans 💐

Luluaugust, I’ll be in Perth for the day in two weeks time. Lovely city.
POA s take such a long time, one of ours took a year to be fully registered.
Safe travels to those on the move and hoping those with health issues have a better day.

karmalady Fri 06-Oct-23 11:54:49

imodium advice should only be from medics, even if well meant and caring

Imodium and its generics all have safety leaflets and Mick will have read them. Where people go wrong with imodium is that they use it when there is eg a food poisoning event and in that case the body needs to self-regulate and get rid. When people self dose in that case, they may well end up in hospital.

The OPs situation is completely different

Thank you x

We scattered DHs ashes on a beautiful sunny morning and each brought away a lovely pebble from the spot as a memory

What a comforting thing to do hollysteers. I hope you all drew comfort from your mission. It is indeed a beautiful spot.

Thankyou Whitewavemark2 wondering why I am shattered today. Covid job yesterday.

Mizuna Fri 06-Oct-23 11:39:17

Do we know if Mick reads the posts after he starts the thread every morning? If not, perhaps Immodium advice would be better via a pm?

Taichinan Fri 06-Oct-23 10:34:10

Good morning all from a sunny (ish) breezy warm Angus coast. Just a quickie as I forgot to post earlier and must now get ready to go out for lunch with friends in honour of my recent coming of age 😉.
Just wanted to wish Lulu a happy time in my favourite city and county, and glad you had a good journey.
I echo the concern re Mick's self-medication - but there's none so deaf etc etc
Which reminds me RoseandLilac, I do sympathise with you re the problems deafness brings. It is so isolating and even the best hearing aids can't bring back the hearing that is lost. I know today, for instance, that I will be unable to follow the conversation and will sit there like a smiling Buddha.....😁
Have the best day everyone and see you tomorrow x

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy damp Lancashire where it is currently 16°C and feeling cooler as there is a stiff breeze. Although temperatures have been relatively mild here we’re not seeing much sunshine.

MrB and I had our Covid vaccinations yesterday. I have a slightly sore arm and was sleepy all afternoon but otherwise Ok. MrB had flu and Covid jabs but no side affects whatsoever! Today I need to clean bathrooms and if any energy left I will spend some time on my exercise bike.

I love homemade soup kalu, great that your DH managed 2 bowls.

Hope your prescriptions are all ready for you Marydoll, and you are not having to chase around after them. Chronic progressive conditions are already draining without extra hassle.

Lots of travellers, safe journey to you all.

Hope any poorlies feel better soon and a virtual hug to all with troubles.

Happy Friday to us all 🌻

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Arrived back last night from a wild and windy Isle of Man after a nice week with DS and DD. We scattered DHs ashes on a beautiful sunny morning and each brought away a lovely pebble from the spot as a memory.
I have my covid jab this afternoon and DD drives home to the south in a couple of hours.
Thank you for all your kind thoughts and my thoughts go to all on here with troubles of any kind.
Here is a photo I took of the bay on the morning we scattered the ashes.

Harrigran I've just sorted my will and poa. The lawyer said poa is taking eleven months at the moment (Scotland). It's maybe the same where you are

harrigran Fri 06-Oct-23 09:13:57

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Got all my washing and ironing done yesterday and managed to watch a recorded TV series in between loads.
Decided to ring the solicitor and try and chase up the POA again, 23 weeks since I instructed her and nothing has been done. I have been promised a phone appointment next week.

I was about to sit down to dinner when my sister rang so had to ring her later. Always difficult conversations, she queries everything I say and it is very tiring. My younger sister sent me a message to say that she is going to go on holiday as she can't take the stress. She had taken her shopping earlier, elder sister likes to remove packaging and leaves it at the checkout to make a point. It might please her but holds up the queue behind her.
I was woken by stomach cramps during the night and my guts are working overtime.
I have also woken with severe pain in my wrist, thankfully not my writing one.
Hoping for a less stressful day.
Take are everyone.

Shelflife many of us are concerned and offering our advice for the best of motives, but unfortunately Mick, either doesn't read the later posts or our advice is falling on deaf ears.
Having seen my BIL at death's door after self medicating with Immodium, this upsets me.
However, we can only interfere so much, ultimately it Mick's responsibility. I won't be nagging any more.

Shelflife Fri 06-Oct-23 09:03:48

Sorry - I mean ' long term '

Shelflife Fri 06-Oct-23 09:01:18

Mick , I don't post here but do read.
I am concerned about the amount of Imodium you take , in my opinion that there may well unwelcome side effects from that. Please see your GP and let her/ him know exactly how many you take . I apologize for interfering and recognize it's not really my place to do that , however I don't think taking Imodium land term is a sound idea. Good luck .

Urmstongran Fri 06-Oct-23 08:57:56

Good morning everyone from a cool and damp south Manchester. My dreams last night were very busy with a cast of many - a Cecil B. DeMille production indeed!

Here’s Matt. Topical and amusing as ever.

🕯️🙏🏼💐 for those who need them

monk08 Fri 06-Oct-23 08:50:48

Good morning all from a dull Black country and no promise of any sun.
Friends birthday today so shall pop down to see her, and then later we are at our friends in Redditch
Haven't read through yet having not long been awake slept through even DH nocturnal trips didn't wake me.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Greyduster Fri 06-Oct-23 08:47:48

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp grey South Yorkshire. Got away with a walk before the rain yesterday but the woods were very muddy. I had lunch with DD and did a bit of shopping on the way home. Covid jab at lunch time in a village I’ve never actually been to so I hope there’s somewhere to park, and then to a nearby garden centre for coffee.
Happy landings to all those travelling today.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Alygran Fri 06-Oct-23 08:44:06

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dull kind of day.
I should have been heading off to Derbyshire to see the family but DD2 is quite poorly with a chest infection, cue antibiotics and steroids, so I’m probably going to wait till tomorrow. The fridge is empty in anticipation of a weekend away so I’ll have to go and do some shopping.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Marydoll Fri 06-Oct-23 08:42:02

Georgesgran

I love those Milan street fashion clips Marydoll. They look so ‘at home’ but I can’t imagine what reaction I’d get strutting around Durham like that!

I made a similar comment to DH, GG.

Anyway, I don't think being a vertically challenged, Michelin Man, I would look as elegant and would certainly be draw some stares on the streets of Glasgow! wink.

Have you looked at the St Petersburg ones.? An understated elegance.

Nannagarra Fri 06-Oct-23 08:31:12

Good morning from Sefton where it’s beef casserole type weather or maybe I’m nesh.
I endorse others, Mick, who advise you to seek medical attention.
Not a lot planned here: decluttering (more ruthlessly if I’m to follow a friend who’s about to downsize) is an attractive proposition, an apt exercise for this damp day.
Thinking of those facing concerns and problems. Have the best day possible everyone.
