Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry. I’m so delighted this morning to be able to share some joyous news. After 18 weeks of gruelling chemotherapy treatment at the Christie hospital tumours have shrunk by 50%. We are pinching ourselves about our much needed boost this morning. Back to the Christie today as i.v. immunotherapy begins. It seems indeed the case that there can be Life After Diagnosis.
😊
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the many caring folk on GN. A wonderful community offering support and kindness in spades. When I wasn’t posting (initial shock and devastation) I was reading and all your mentions were so uplifting as I realised you were cheering us both on from the sidelines. It truly humbled me.
Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone.
Yes Maw the garden centre is half way between us.
Pleased to hear some poorlies are feeling better and hope others will follow.
Happy anniversary to Mr &Mrs Lester
I’ve pursuaded DH to go for his golf lesson this morning. He wasn’t sure if he should leave me, first time since my op 6 days ago. I’ve promised not to do anything I shouldn’t
and he’ll only be a couple of hours.
Hoping to do some crafting today and have a walk outside later.
Wishing all a good day.
Good morning all and it’s another glorious day here on the Suffolk coast. What weather we’re having.! Yesterday was perfect - just a beautiful day. Making the most of it while it lasts. ☀️.
I was feeling so relaxed and peaceful and then DD messaged to say she was back in hospital. Strange symptoms that she’s had before, when coming off steroids, but she’s been off them now for 4months 🤔. We’re are going back to Essex tomorrow so will find out more. 🙏
Urms fabulous news! You’ll be on cloud 9! ❤️.
Sar so glad you’ve had a great holiday. Hope your journey home is trouble-free.
GM enjoy your lunch. Perhaps once you get to know your friends friend better, your feelings will change. 🤞
Today we’ll tidy the house and get ready for our return ‘home’ tomorrow. 🌻
Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow.
I had trouble sleeping last night and a snooze later should help to make me feel more awake.
Wonderful news Urms
Have the best day possible all.
Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it's 16°C, We have yet another flood alert in place. 😔
Great to hear better news this morning of Mr Urms.
Oops, asthma exacerbations, seem like they will never settle and along with the steroid side effects, they leave one very low, I do hope you are on the mend soon. 💐
GM, it was very kind of your new friend to include you in the lunch. It is always difficult when people have been friends for a long time and they know each other so well.
Another day in bed for me. Yesterday, I couldn't stand up, without keeling over. My very high BP kept dropping like a stone. This is one of the worst heart episodes yet.
My life is so limited at the moment and I'm not very happy about it!! I feel totally powerless, having no control what is happening to me.
I hope the Lesters have a lovely day, ginny is making good progress and that the Covid warriors feel better soon.
Make the best your day folks, you never know what is waiting round the corner. 😉
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and dry, although rain is forecast. Happy anniversary to the Lester's. Have a lovely day. It is such good news for Urms and her dear man.
Yesterday I made spiced red cabbage after a visit to Tesco where I also bought stuff for the Christmas cake. Unfortunately I forgot one ingredient (mixed spice) so I'll have to go back today. Aldi don't have a great selection of spices. I'll steep the dried fruit in brandy today and make the cake tomorrow. A friend is phoning this afternoon for a catch up. She's struggling with sciatica so doesn't feel comfortable having a face to face one. Apart from that, I'll potter about. Later I'll visit mum. Have a good day all
Good morning from an overcast Sefton. Forecast seems to be for no weather today - no, rain, no wind, no sun.
A quiet day today after yesterday's singing session turned out to be a bit chaotic but in a good way. Then I fell asleep on the sofa having forgotten to put the slow cooker on.
Zoom strength class this morning, then a small food shop & possibly a charity shop drop off. I have decorations/lights for a certain time of year that I don't need since downsizing.🎄
Happy Anniversary to the kittylesters. Hoping today is kind to you all.
Good morning all from the Angus coast where the sky is beginning to lighten. It's supposed to be a sunshine and showers sort of day. On Saturday the temp didn't rise above 11° but today it's forecast to be 17°! Strange weather indeed.
Sorry you're having such a hard time with your asthma Oops.
Happy Anniversary to the kittylesters, enjoy your day.
Delighted to hear that Urms has good news at last.
Today for me is just the usual Tuesday tai chi class followed by a visit to Nature's Garden and the fish shop. A little trot into Tesco's is also needed, and then after that I'm finished and a good book beckons.
I hope everyone has a good day and the poorlies are less so x
Good morning from Durham. Another warm, but heavy cloud day is forecast - no sun at all. Washing is on the line for hours, but still damp.
Good news in the kitchen last night from Urms isn’t modern medicine wonderful!
My strange neighbours appear to have moved, after 20+ years here, without saying a word. They and their 8 cars won’t be missed, but the mystery is what they do with the house - sell or rent out. It needs work.
DD2 and family are off to Majorca first thing, so today’s job is to take their Little Dog to the groomer, then pick up a ‘script for a friend who has back trouble. She’s had a key cut for me, so she doesn’t have to move! Happy Birthday and anniversary wishes where appropriate, whilst sorry to hear some GNs are under the weather today.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a dull Suffolk where sun and a temp of 24 degrees is promised for later.
I had the usual lovely time with my friend yesterday….over 4 hours involving coffee,a mooch around and then lunch in the garden of our favourite cafe there. The newly opened art gallery which has an exhibition where one of the ladies from my exercise classes is exhibiting was unfortunately closed but we could see some of the pictures through the large windows.
I have my monthly work day tomorrow so have at least 2 hours reading to do today in preparation. Hopefully I can then spend the afternoon in the garden.
Happy anniversary the kitts.
My neighbour’s friend is nothing to do with this retirement area, is from quite a different group and we have no one in common apart from my neighbour.
What bothers me is that she is very imperious. She uses my friend, as a taxi too, having given her car up, no matter that she can well afford chauffeur driven limos if she wanted…. It’s that sort of thing that bothers me, but, hey, she’s not bad company and I don’t have to see her too often.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Another day curled up on the sofa. I am still full of cold and feel achy. I should have been having a covid jab and flu jab today but they are cancelled until I have recovered from covid. Have a lovely day.
Good morning from a grey Belfast. Yesterday was the warmest October day on record here at 21°. We did an open top bus tour and visited the Titanic museum.
We fly home this evening but will do the City Hall tour this morning.
Love to all 🦩 x
Waiting arrival of dgd. Happy Anniversary to the Kittylesters.
Productive day at the retail park. Two tops, leggings and socks for dgd. Georgesgran, maybe we passed by each other.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Mick and All.
Another good day in prospect in South Bucks.
A very Happy Anniversary kittylester 🥳🥂. You are a year and 13 days ahead of us 😀 Hope you are celebrating.
Good morning from the South Downs. No sun😮 hopefully the clouds will burn off.
Had the last lot of blood test yesterday before Thursday. I forgot my papers, so had to trog all the way home for them. I am incredibly absentminded - have been all my life.
Son phoned to see how we are doing. On the phone for an hour and a half - putting the world to rights - shades of his mother😄.
Nothing planned today - apart from giving the kitchen floor a really good clean and prune some more roses.
Peace and harmony to all - the world so badly needs it.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry but looks windy
A very Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Kitty enjoy your special day!
Today a quick trip to the gym then going round to DD2s for a while to help look after the DGC
Great news from Urms this morning ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
PS Happy Anniversary Kitty and Mr Lester!
1970 was clearly a good year! 🎉🥂🍾
Good morning everyone from north Kent. No idea what the weather is like as haven’t looked out yet, but it is supposed to be another lovely day. Yesterday was warm and very still without a breath of wind. Enjoyed my walk along the seafront; lots of people out strolling along and enjoying the sunshine.
Today I am heading into town to sort out a refund that hasn’t gone through properly due to the shop’s computer system having a glitch. Might do some more tidying up in the garden this afternoon as I am reluctant to be inside during this lovely spell of sunshine.
Great news from Urms; a ray of sunshine in a dark news day 🌞
Happy anniversary to you both Kitty
Hope everyone has a good day
Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Lester. Hope the sun shines on you today.
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is very calm and still.
My plans for today are pretty humdrum - a shopping delivery around lunchtime then I am picking up a friend who is becoming increasingly wobbly on her feet and housebound, to take to our local Nursery ( Ginny will know it! ) for coffee/tea with another couple of book club friends.
This evening I am going to London for a “goodbye” supper with assorted family members for Paw’s niece who is going back to São Paulo where she lives. She has been over for a fortnight staying with D2 as well as visiting friends in Lisbon and I will be sad as Brazil is such a long way away and as a not quite starving artist it is not always an easy place to live.
Ashcombe your post reminded me that I have not been asked to wait the 15 minutes after either of my last 2 covid and flu jabs! In fact I was home inside half an hour last time- 5 minute drive there, park, short wait, jab jab, out and 10 minute drive (more traffic) home again. Hmm. Should I take a moment now perhaps? Good thing there were no ill effects!
Gm you remind me of how I felt about invitations to coffee/lunch/ tea when we moved to our village. Everybody knew everybody and there was a degree of curiosity about us as we didn’t quite fit the stereotype of “incomers”. I am not a “village” person by inclination and I dare say some of them found me stand offish as I am not a natural “joiner”. Church and school gates, yes but I felt reluctant to get too close to those who clearly knew all there was to be known about everybody. I may be being unfair, as they were very kind, but my true friends have been made through activities which actually take me out of the village.
Wishing you all as good a day as it gets with especial, thoughts for poorlies and those with worries.
Happy Anniversary to you both Kitty 🥂🎉
Happy Anniversary to the kittylesters 🥂
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a barely light South Yorkshire. Not sure the sun is going to do it’s stuff today but it proved me wrong yesterday. I had a swim, then drove to a nearby village that has a very good wool shop - a rarity these days. Bought some wool and a pattern that, the more I look at it, I’m sure will defeat me, but nothing ventured! Spent the afternoon garden tidying.
The gardener is coming today to discuss cutting the hedges before the winter. Other than that, nothing much going on.
Happy Anniversary, Kitty and Mister Lester! Have a lovely day🥂💐.
Have the best one you can today folks.
