Can anyone share their experience of an ENT appointment for Dizziness/Vertigo?

I have my appointment soon and have been warned that some tests may be uncomfortable. Also, although my high blood pressure and age are likely to be a contributing factor, I wonder if other things are relevant.

I have a fear of gabbing on at appointments and always rehearse what I want to say. Since a young child, I have suffered from motion sickness, a fear of heights, travelling at speed. Also from childhood up to the present day I am prone to vomiting.

Would you mention any of this things.

Like me, you may have an MRI scan to rule out anything else happening. That’s the only thing that might be uncomfortable for you.
I have a friend who gets nervous in Drs surgeries so I go with her and then tell her what’s going on, so ask a friend or family to go with you.

Please mention everything little flo and try not to worry.
If you worry about talking too much you could write a list and just hand it over for the doctor to read.
Good luck and hope you get some help,

Your dizziness/vertigo could be related to your stomach issues little flo. Latest research shows that GERD/acid reflux is responsible for a whole host of seemingly unrelated bodily reactions and it seems, somewhat bizarrely, that it can be the cause of heart attack like pain as well as dizziness and vertigo.

I'm sorry I can't post a direct link but if you google GERD/acid reflux there's lots of information online. Hope it's of some help to you.

Thank you everyone. I think I might make notes just to remind me. This might sound like another stupid questions. I am quite deaf, should I wear my hearing aids to the appointment?

Yes! You can take your hearing aids out if they ask you when you are there.

Yes you must wear your hearing aids so that you can hear what they are asking or telling you. If you are having a scan of your head you will have to remove the aids for that and then put them back in.
