Everywhere there is bad news be it in the world or at home, in families or within our own 4 walls, its worrying, its sad, its heartbreaking and its beyond our understanding so to lift the dark, depressing and worrying feelings we have I have decided to start an uplifting πŸ˜ƒ, happy πŸ˜ƒ, joyful πŸ˜ƒ and POSITIVE πŸ˜ƒ thread......

Toooooo much negativity πŸ˜ͺ everywhere we look and causes anxiety because there is nothing we can do about some situations. We need to let happy, joy and positive feelings circulate around us, hard I know, but for our OWN sanity we must grab the tiniest bit of positivity as it passes us by.

I will start..... today I have been to see a neighbour who is in a care home and we have had a right laugh and a venture down that wonderful, peaceful Memory Lane 😊 and tomorrow I am picking my 2 youngest grandchild up from school and I have bought them a Curly Whirly each πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜‹.

Thank you so much ladies. Off out later to see what I can buy him. He needs vests according to his Mummy. Suppose you can never have too many.!!.

AGMs are not usually the brightest of meetings but our WI one this evening was also a lovely social event with a supper and lots of chat.

This afternoon was FANTASTIC... took my 2 GC to the local garden centre where they have a fabulous Christmas display, then we went to the ice cream parlour afterwards.

We had a visit from 2 grandchildren this morning. Wolfue wolfed down the final 3rd of DH's cheese bread (a weekend treat) with salted butter and told Pa he would have to eat normal bread. Not much to some people but he has been a really fussy eater since he was weaned.

Off to Waitrose to stockpile cheese bread now.

Love this thread.

Wonderful news.Witzend

This morning I went for a walk in the sunshine around some lakes. I walked about 1 and a half miles with just a little back ache by the end. Not bad 3 weeks after my hip op’.

That is wonderful Witzend.....

Yes, and it was the very last embryo after she’d given up for some time - couldn’t face the heartache and disappointment yet again. But finally thought, well, one last try, and lo and behold….❀️

A friend of a dd, in her mid 40s, who has suffered many years of infertility, and so many rounds of unsuccessful IVF, finally had her longed-for baby the other day. πŸ™‚

My son brought my two grandchildren for a day’s visit (DIL had an inescapable work commitment). They live at the opposite end of the country to me, so I don’t see them all that often. Gorgeous 14-year-old grandson, getting tall now, and enchanting 11-year-old granddaughter. Both very chatty and articulate.

Oh ginny how lovely is that.

I met two friends for lunch and laughter.

I sent a surprise gift to my Brother and Sister in Law as they have been going through a very tough time for quite a while now and had a lovely message back.

An hour later I received a surprise delivery of flowers from friends.

WAS a courteous driver .... not WERE

Serendipity22 Mon 23-Oct-23 21:43:49

Today i had coffee & cake with a really lovely friend, we laughed, we reminisced and chatted in general and I left her home happy, it was lovely.

On the way home there were a courteous driver that added happiness on top of my happiness. Today there are far too many impatient drivers on the road, so its noted in my happy space when I come across a courteous one. πŸ˜ƒ

What a lovely thread. Today I had a long phone chat with my teenage GS - all about his college work, his new friends and new part-time job as well as about the football match he was going to. I am so glad that he likes to hear from me and always seems pleased to hear my news too.

Well today has thrilled me with absolute WHOOOOPEEEE I have been to Knaresborough to meet a relative in a cafe.... had lot to choose from on menu but settled for a bacon sandwich and cup of tea ( mmmmm ) then went to see a fabulous inspirational friend who lives literally 5 minutes from the cafe, so all in all today has been perfect and to top it all the weather has been fabulous.

HAPPY DAYS smile

Great news Dotpocka !!

Today I am very pleased to have found a Christmas project that I didn’t manage to finish last year. I just couldn’t remember where I had put it.
Will get it finished now for this year although I have a feeling that it might be commandeered by the DGSs1 &2.
