A happy positive thread 😃

Covid and flu jabs for us both today but off to the Grange Garden Centre after for more plants (wallflowers we hope). Hope all are having a good day.

Spent an hour in the garden pottering about. Our aging spaniel was very in the moment, she charged about full of the joy of spring. Just watching her made me smile.

These posts are truly wonderful, reading each 1 brings forth a lovely sense of positivity...... each 1 is leaping off the screen with fulfilment..... WONDERFUL 😊

Just want to say to madeleine45 that I have visited Harlow Carr a couple of times ( we live about 10 miles from there ) brilliant idea of the binoculars...... its amazing how we find a different way of doing A, B and C which results in us still maintaining the pleasure and bringing us happiness 😊

Which brings me to 2 particular instances that involves my walking stick ( or 1 of them, i have 9 !!!!! Colour coordination to my clothes haaaaa ) anyway so the 1st instance was when i was at the supermarket and the item i wanted was top shelf and the LAST IN THE BOX so right at the back ... ping ... idea i got my stick and hooked down the item in question.....

2nd instance my GD was going to climb up on a chair to get something in the house, DA-DAH I said use my stick.... job done.

improvisation wins the day

We had a wonderful weekend in San Francisco, celebrating my Granddaughter’s birthday, my birthday and DS and DIL’s 20th wedding anniversary. Monday DH and I were home again, and went to a local restaurant who were celebrating their 1st anniversary, and as that was the actual day of my birthday we had another joint celebration. To round it all off, we were at a friend’s 80th birthday party yesterday. On Saturday we leave for a week in Nashville to stay with dear friends.

I reckon this thread should continue like a diary for whoever wants to post either happy or sad. The support is tremendous and at a time when life has its challenges there is someone we can relate too that is refreshing.

due to a lot of pain in my back awake at 3.30am, and couldnt get back to sleep. did some emails etc and decided to go to RHS Harlow Carr. I cannot manage to walk round now but was able to organise to use the scooter. It looked as though it might rain, but rain held off. I put my mac, and bits and pieces and my small binoculars in the bag and this meant that when I saw a plant at the back of the bed and could not see the label the binoculars let me check it out. So I ended up being able to go all round, the plants were giving a great autumn colour display with sedums and michaelmas daisies etc. Have been a member of RHS for some years but as I was unable to book ahead have not been able to visit all through covid etc. So today I was happy to see it all again and have renewed my subscription. This gives me gardens to look forward to visiting this year, and as you are allowed to bring one guest with you free, I plan to go back shortly with a friend. It was great to get outside, at home there were jobs that needed doing etc and it was more relaxing to be away from the flat. The trees were just starting to change and it was great to get out and look forward to more gardens in the future.

I felt so much lighter today after reading, last night, the messages of support for the poster who is having to consider that her DH may have to go into a care home. I have spent a few years now feeling so guilty that my late DH, who suffered from Parkinson’s and Lewy Body dementia, spent his last two years in a care home. It has been with me at all times, but now I can more readily see that it was justified.

This morning we went to a coffee shop we haven't visited before (but will go back). They employ people with disabilities, and it's a popular cafe.

I am having a delightful happy week, with incredibly lovely thoughtful people and all on the same wavelength

Had the results of a full set of blood tests. After 13 years of GP forgetting I should be tested due to reaching different ages and I'M all NORMAL!

Chatting to my daughter she said she'd bought winter flowering pansies reduced in Home Bargains. I said I'd looked everywhere for them and she said I could have hers!

I went a nice walk through the woods with my lovely dog this morning, called in on one of my GD’s who is off school with Tonsillitis and made her a hot chocolate. This afternoon I’ve Spring cleaned (well Autumn cleaned) one of the spare bedrooms, put some nice new bedding on and I’m off to a knit n natter group this evening.

Your post is sooooo lovely... wowwww the girl bought herself a goat, you are spreading happiness across the world... THAT is wonderful.

Tomorrow I am going to my craft group that has developed into a circle of lovely friends then I am going to see a friend who has just returned from Spain, so a day of happiness 😊.

Let's all put the happy things in our lives to the forefront and smile ... and the negative to the back of our minds. We know every mortal thing in life can't be sweetness and roses, we know that but we have control over whether to allow it to monopolies our life or not. I CHOOSE NOT and so its as far far far far back as is possible.... and it can stay there..

Two weeks ago I had a lovely weekend away with family (16 of us), we rented a big house together. It was lovely just being together. Last Sunday I met my closest friends for breakfast in a garden centre. My DH is lovely, we’ve been married 36 years, my Labrador is gorgeous and I better mention my gorgeous adult kids who are wonderful. Life is busy, we’ve dealt with friends passing suddenly and illness and it makes you realise that life is for living x

What a welcome thread! Today DH and I pottered about in town and I went into the sewing shop: my first visit there. Had a lovely chat with the owner: I will be returning there. I feel inspired to return to sewing by machine.

Last night I met three friends I've known since school for a lovely meal out. One of them has recently had a hip replacement after years of pain and it was such a joy to see her walking around normally. To add to that, she told us that her husband had been given the 'all clear' by the consultant following cancer treatment.
What a great evening.

My eldest DD came over this morning. She bought a lovely lunch with her plus HM cinnamon buns. She accompanied me on a walk and we laughed a lot., real ‘belly laughs’ .

The pool where I swim was very quiet this morning. Bliss, then an older gentleman got in with a mask and snorkel. He swam a full length and as he swam towards me it looked as if Jaws had turned up in our pool. Either that or a submarine periscope was heading my way. It just made me laugh out loud.

I sponsor a girl in Uganda and in a letter this year she told me that her favourite chore is looking after the family goats. When it came round to her birthday I really wanted to buy her a goat and while the charity offers a gift catalogue and you can buy a goat in it, you can't give it to a specific family/child just to one in need. You can only give a birthday donation to your sponsored child and the charity decides what they need most. So I gave my usual money donation.
Yesterday I got a letter from the sponsored girl. As she is 14 now they seem to changed how they do it and just gave her the money to buy what she wanted. And guess what, she bought herself a goat! The money stretched for some sugar and some soap as well. She send me a photo of herself with her goat. I honestly was so happy that I had shed some tears of happiness.
Clearly it was all meant to work out like this.
