Good Morning Everyone,
Dark with sins of overnight rain on the ground here in brackley .
Its beginning to look as autumn is around the corner with temperatures dropping.
Todays plans I hope to get the bus to Bicester , having had a bad day yesterday.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, cold toes here in the midlands. Not quite time for digging out the woollies but wont be long! Wishing you all the best for today Whitewave, take care everyone. Stay cosy x

Good luck to you, Whitewavemark2! Will be thinking of you. 💐

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Northampton. Will be the same all day, according to Alexa.

Enjoyed the film (The Great Escaper) yesterday, very moving, both lead actors brilliant ( in their 80/90s). Managed to avoid the rain until I got off the bus at the corner of my Close, had a 2 minute dash to my door, and then had to put the bins out.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then dance classes after lunch. Macaroni cheese for dinner tonight, but the cheat's version with a chilled ready made sauce- I will put plenty of grated cheese on top though, and add seasoning to the sauce! Will make portions in individual dishes so I have one to freeze.

Wishing WW all the best.

Good morning all from a foggy Glasgow, where it is only 2C!!! I woke up really cold during the night.
Mick, I hope you have a better day and your op goes well WWM.

Yesterday, I had a phone consultation with one of the more experienced GPs. She took the time to listen to me, which I really appreciated. I explained that all I wanted was for someone to help me, I can't go on feeling awful and being incarcerated for weeks at a time. There is a limit to being upbeat, even for me!
The GP explained that the cardiology professor had contacted the surgery to say that he had reviewed my scans and recent bloods and couldn't see any signs that my heart was struggling any more than it usually does, therefore there seems to be something else going on for me to feel so unwell. 😔

Consequently, I am off to the surgery this morning for a raft of blood tests, to try and get the bottom of things and I will have a GP face to face consultation on Monday.
Poor DH will have to miss the golf, because I'm too dizzy to drive.
I feel so guilty, because he is having to do everything, shopping, housework etc and now he cannot even have a break from me. 😔

Dollie paid a surprise visit after school yesterday, which lifted my spirits no end.
She proceeded to ask me to test her on her French colours and impressed me greatly by getting them all correct. She is only seven years old!
I was chuffed to bits, because I wrote the French programme for the cluster primary schools and it is still going strong, ten years later. Recently I saw an electronic whiteboard display and realised it was one of my lessons! My legacy lives on, even if I am forgotten,🤣

DD has been unwell all week and phoned last night in tears to say that after a week of testing, she had just tested positive for Covid. The problem is that she must have been infectious when she visited on Sunday and is worried she may have infected me. I tested last night and today and thankfully it's negative. I don't fancy a trip to hospital for an anti viral infusion on top of everything else.
She had a social event with colleagues from South Africa on Friday and one was complaining of being unwell. She thinks that is how she caught Covid.
Its all very well advising that people should go about their business regardless, but it could be fatal for people like myself.
Its very difficult to find a balance.

So lovely to see my pal NanKate posting once more.
Blossoming and Susan, I hope you are feeling better. As always best wishes for all the poorlies.
Have a good day folks.

All best wishes for today WWM

Morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire where I stayed last night with DD4. She has a very demanding job and it’s ages since we had a cosy evening, just the two of us. My son in law very kindly left us to it.

Hope and am sure all will go well Whitewave, it will be good to get it over though.

cornergran, me too with the reaction to the flu jab, first ever to any of the jabs, I was really really tired for two days. I knew it must have been the flu jab because I’d had the Pfizer one before with no ill effect.

I’ve been thinking about the young boy you talked about Aggie he and his family are in my prayers.

I’m heading off soon to have my wild hair chopped before going away with friends for a weekend in the Lake District, staying with another friend who is a wonderful cook, grows her own food, bakes her own bread etc, it will be such a treat.
We have all been friends for nearly sixty years and I do feel blessed.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible, of course all who need support are in my thoughts.

Good morning from a very wet Essex. A shock as the last few weeks have been glorious.

Our journey back yesterday was good and we were ‘home’ by midday. We left the cottage and garden in ‘apple-pie’ order, as we’re not sure when we’ll be there next. Hopefully our steps down to the beach will be finished and the next big job is the fencing.

Today I have my bowls club and then I’ll shop .

Dh was going to use our new weed burner but it will be too wet out there. Has anyone got one? No instructions for use! 😤.

DS1’s blisters /burns (from cutting back our fig tree) are getting worse. He has cream , dressings and antiobiotics. So sore. 😥.

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day whatever it brings.🌻

Taichinan Thu 12-Oct-23 08:03:58

Good morning Mick and all. What a beautiful sunrise here on the Angus coast - all peachy pink clouds in a cerulean blue sky. In the good old days we'd have said "Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning" but I don't know if that applies in these days of global warming.
Hope all goes well with your procedure this afternoon Whitewave.
I had a lovely drive to Dundee and then across the bridge yesterday. It's the school holidays here and I think just about everybody must be away on holiday, the roads were so clear. And I didn't come across my first road works until just outside the hairdresser's! The haircut was followed by a lovely chatty lunch with my niece and my six yo great-great niece.
Today is the usual Thursday tai chi and then visit to the fish shop. I didn't sleep well last night, so I expect the afternoon will be spent dozing while reading a book and watching tv
I hope everyone has a good day and those who are unwell has a better day today. Take care x

Good morning all from N Bucks ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️
My aches from Monday night have abated and I feel more lke myself again. Arts Society this morning where we are combining our regular monthly lecture with a coffee morning in aid of our local hospice. We get 100+ to meetings so unless they are tight-fisted it should raise a fair sum.
Yesterdays film group (a group of -now- friends who started meeting on Zoom in the pandemic) has a few new members Three of them have now “complained” about the format, the choice of films and suggested we use some university of Toronto Guide to Film Analysis as a basis for future discussion.
Hmm, I leave you to guess what the reaction is likely to be, I know what mine was grin
Oh dear the rain is getting even heavier and I can hear the poor binmen outside - what a miserable job it must be in bad weather 👏👏
I hope WWM’s gall bladder op goes well, that Marydoll is improving, that Covid jab sufferers feel better soon (and indeed Covid sufferers) and that you all have as pleasant a day as possible.

kittylester Thu 12-Oct-23 08:02:02

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Today, I am putting everything back in the kitchen as, apart from the window seat cushions, it is finished!!!! I have an awful suspicion that we have picked the wrong colour for the walls but we will live with it for a while and, hopefully, we will stop noticing!!

Hoping all goes well today, WWM2 and sending love to everyone with sorrow and troubles.

grandMattie Thu 12-Oct-23 08:00:58

All the best, ww.

Nannagarra Thu 12-Oct-23 07:56:03

Good morning from cooler and slightly frosty Sefton.
Today we’re going to a local market town, past a favourite garden centre, down lanes familiar to us when first married.
Thinking of Georgesgran (hope it went well), WWM2, Urms, Ginny, anyone I’ve failed to name, plus those for whom life is posing some concerns.
🌻

Greyduster Thu 12-Oct-23 07:53:27

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a chilly South Yorkshire where the sun has promised to visit us. Yesterday was very wet. I made a batch of brownies when I came back from the library. I am supposed to be going out with the walking group this morning, but to be honest, I really don’t feel like it. First I must put some petrol in the car or I won’t be going anywhere.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Alygran Thu 12-Oct-23 07:47:36

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear blue skies, pretty sunrise and some condensation on the windows. Must be chilly out there.
Out walking on the edge of the moors today.
My dentist has prescribed antibiotics as a last ditch attempt to sort my gum and save my tooth. I had to pay for the private prescription but all my treatment is coming under my dental contract. I think it would be expensive otherwise.
wwm2 I hope all goes well for your op.
MD and all who are struggling 💐
Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Thu 12-Oct-23 07:43:47

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Off to art group this morning, no idea what to paint. More washing and ironing later.
Best wishes to all

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Oct-23 07:39:07

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. Big change in the temperature here! Whitewave all the best for you today. Mick I hope you have a better day. Ash that's awfully expensive! Brook enjoy your volunteering.
Thank you for thinking of me. It gives me a wee glow. Yesterday I went to the library then checked dd's house for mail etc. Once home, I hoovered throughout and washed floors then started one of my books. GrandMattie it's a long time since I read any Umberto Eco books.
Today I have art class then I'll visit mum tonight and hope she's in a better frame of mind. Have a good day all

Gala Thu 12-Oct-23 07:37:57

Good morning from a dry & brightening Sefton. Sun forecast today🌝.
Zumba this morning, The Hollies this evening. Not sure what I will be doing in between.
Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 12-Oct-23 07:29:48

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I hope all goes well Whitewave. I had mine removed back in 2015. It was an emergency so I didn’t really have time to think about it much. I remember chatting to the anaesthetist about gin cocktails and that was it!
I will do less today. I did all the laundry yesterday while OH made a woodpecker guard for his beehive. I know those of us with covid don’t have to keep to any rules now but I am and will stay in the house until Saturday. I did overdo it though yesterday so will lie on the sofa again after breakfast.
I am thinking of the Urms and MaryD.🌹

Pittcity Thu 12-Oct-23 07:28:34

Good morning from rainy Colchester. The temperature is dropping and I think the heating will be on by the weekend as frost is forecast.
I have my flu jab at Boots this morning and a pile of ironing to keep me busy later.
Love to all 🦩 x

We’ve got DGD here just now, she’ll probably be awake in a few mins. Think we’ll go swimming this morning and then I’m dropping her home after lunch as I’ve a volunteering session this afternoon
Sounds really expensive Ash 😳
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jaxjacky Thu 12-Oct-23 07:23:55

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset.

This years flu jab knocked me for six yesterday, better this morning. First time I’ve ever had a strong reaction. A lot of indoor very slow faffing yesterday. Today some batch cooking and general dust removal.

Dental work is so costly ash, pleased you’re physio appointment was more helpful than you anticipated. Good luck whitewave. Soon be over. Concerned about you oops. Hope for a better day for you mick and for you marydoll. Thoughts go to all struggling with health and to those caring for them.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Morning. This is unusual for me to post at this hour. Awake early up early . Going to Derby to see Brassed Off with the U3a theatre group. Just hope it doesn't rain. Hope everyone has a reasonable day.
