Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and appears to have rained in the night here in brackley.
Autumn seems to be slowly happening locally with trees and others yet to shed there leaves .
Went out on the bus yesterday ,and supermarket wise seemed very quite as to customers , mind you Bicester town centre has seen numerous store closures including Banks .
Although a bus pass holder < i go into Bicester on a service which starts before 0930 Monday to Friday bus start , mind you as to this adjoining counties have a 0900 start .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Satisfying meeting with consultant yesterday re hernia, will have a scan and then decisions will be made. She thought it was not connected to my stomach upsets, probably the IBS I was diagnosed with, or what I call my nervous stomach.

A bad night for me so not looking forward to art this morning, something with pebbles and water? Off to play tonight so will have a hap this afternoon.

So utterly tragic Ashcombe, what a sad situation.
baubles 💐 and thoughts to harrigran today and all with worries.

Nannagarra Fri 20-Oct-23 08:36:04

Good morning from a very wet Sefton coast as Gala attests. If anyone’s interested, yesterday’s “Ramblings” with Clare Balding is centred upon our corner of the country.
I well remember that poor, poor woman Ashcombe and often think of her husband and young child. It’s an immense tragedy.
Your thoughts about the shingles jab echo mine glammagran: a month ago I was refused.
DGdog - retriever - is now one year old. Her photo, with party hat, bandanna, banner and balloons, was circulated on the family WhatsApp yesterday. Barking mad. Her “cousin”, a pocket-sized apricot cockapoo, will live with us from Sunday. Our DGC believe next week will be the usual…
Not keen to write this for the third time due to page reloading, I’ll speedily post. I’ve not read the whole thread, and hope the weather hasn’t been too awful for our members. Thoughts to those who are poorly and to those for whom life could be fairer. Take care and have the best day possible.

Good morning all from Glasgow. Wet and windy again today which is bad enough but not as bad as the east who are suffering a lot more.

I was lucky yesterday to hit a dry spell as I did a Waitrose visit, that done it was straight home to batten down the hatches and coory doon with pastries and coffee.

Unusual goings on I have noticed, Waitrose are selling bunches of tulips and we have 5 white Iris blossoming in the garden….in October??

Wonderful news baubles

Hopefully a pleasant day/better day is ahead for all, especially for those with so many mountains to climb.

Urmstongran Fri 20-Oct-23 08:26:29

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We had rain of biblical proportions during the night which woke me but it seems just to be spitting now with everywhere dripping. We have to go out today for two separate appointments so I’m glad we’re in with a chance of a lull.

Photos in the newspapers this morning show how much damage Storm Babet has wreaked in some parts of the country. We’ve got off very lightly here.

Susan56 Fri 20-Oct-23 08:23:16

Good morning from Shropshire. It’s still raining.

Yesterday was a quiet day catching up with admin and reading.Today more of the same until school pick up time when we will be bringing the children back here for the weekend.

Thank you for your supportive comments yesterday regarding the mistakes made with my medication.I am still feeling upset and a bit rubbish but also grateful the mistake has been rectified.

Grandmabatty what a rollercoaster you are on with your mum but glad she was enjoying her caramel wafer. Its all so difficult for her and you💐Enjoy a quieter day today.

Oops I really hope you can get your medication sorted and Marydoll I hope today is a better day for you.

Harrigran 💐

Thinking of all with sadness, illness and worries to deal with💐

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Alygran Fri 20-Oct-23 08:12:16

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Dark and very windy with heavy rain expected later.
I’ll use today to catch up on the admin after the AGM. I have a friend calling later for me to look over his tax return. Harvest supper this evening.
Thinking of all the poorlies.
Have a good day everyone.

harrigran Fri 20-Oct-23 08:11:18

Lovely ro hear the good news Baubles 💐

harrigran Fri 20-Oct-23 08:08:09

Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
Didn't put the wheelie bin out last night, would have made for noisy night as it is not that full.
Today is the second anniversary of death of DH. I am going out to lunch with DS and GD2.
A very sad time Ashcombe, thoughts are with the family especially the young DD.
Stay safe and warm today if you are living in the storm path.

Pittcity Fri 20-Oct-23 08:03:34

Good morning from a dark, damp Colchester. DH has just popped out for a blood test. No other plans today other than laundry and a supermarket shop.
Sending hugs to all especially those with illness and worry.
Love to all 🦩 x

luluaugust Fri 20-Oct-23 08:03:05

Good morning from a damp W Kent. A small shop required today, see how bad back feels, otherwise quiet here. Staying in close touch with DD1 and family in Perth, she has said they are just starting in the two workers are working from home.
Ash prayers for the little family
Best wishes to all

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Oct-23 08:02:56

What lovely news to read baubles you must both be so relieved.

Grandmabatty Fri 20-Oct-23 08:00:16

Baubles that is good news

Grammaretto Fri 20-Oct-23 07:58:38

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry here but I was fretting yesterday for my DD and family who are affected by storm Babet. They all made it home safely and will stay there.

I volunteer at the community store today and it's my Helpers' final day. I'll miss this couple. They've worked hard and been good company. Their next placement is in Aberdeenshire so I hope the buses will run.

Ash how terribly sad for that little family.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from a windy Glasgow, its 10°C.

Yesterday wasn't a good day, vertigo all day and not too great this morning either. DH will need to do the supermarket shop, heaven knows what he will come back with.
It is probably for the best, I can never resist the TU section of Sainsbury's and reading the Style thread has resulted in me being a naughty girl! 😉 I live in hope of getting out and about again.

Safe journey to all who are travelling and if you are on holiday, enjoy.
Keeping the poorlies in my prayers and pleased to read that some of the sick bay patients are improving.
Have a good day folks.

baubles Fri 20-Oct-23 07:54:38

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, it’s a bit grey but not raining here at the moment.

I’m joining you with a lighter heart today as, after weeks of investigations, we have been told that DH’s illness is not what we were originally told. He has been so ill but is beginning to feel a little better and hopefully will continue to recover.

My most grateful thanks to the Gransnetters who have been such a support to me in recent weeks after we were given the original diagnosis which turned out to be wrong.

I haven’t yet read the thread but I will go back and do so. x

Gala Fri 20-Oct-23 07:50:07

Good morning from what sounds like a very wet Sefton. I haven't looked out yet but feel very tempted to stay where I am, cosy beneath my duvet. I did have a duvet day yesterday & feel better for it.
Two zoom exercise classes today, then a food shop & that's it. Rest of the day "at leisure".
Hope the Scottish grans are not too badly affected by Babet. We seem to have avoided it here. Thoughts to those of you struggling with life.

NannyJan53 Fri 20-Oct-23 07:49:51

Good morning from a very dark and rainy Black Country.

Off to meet a friend in Bridgnorth today, I think we will stay safely in the Cafe and won't be wandering around much.

MrJ is off to Bristol to help his DD to move into her new house. He is back Sunday morning as we go to a concert in Birmingham Monday night.

My heart goes out the the family Ashcombe especially the little girl.

Thoughts with everyone struggling with health worries.

Gingster Fri 20-Oct-23 07:43:50

Good morning all and it’s dark and dreary here in Essex.

I’m off soon to pick up little DGD for school. I must remember to give her £1 for sweeties or a doughnut as it’s the last day of half term. So exciting ☺️.

Book club this morning and it’s a book I enjoyed. This group are a bit high-brow and not much fun but I enjoy a challenge. My Suffolk group are completely opposite! .

We’ll meet our Friday friends for drinks at lunchtime. The very elderly landlady has stopped providing food so we’ll enjoy the chat and come home for something to eat.

Ash - so sad 🙏.

Take care, especially those of you in west Scotland.

Jaxjacky Fri 20-Oct-23 07:42:03

Morning from a soggy but not raining S Hampshire. A deep wound to heal Ashcombe.
Thoughts with dustyangel.
Busy day yesterday in and out, quieter today with grocery delivery this afternoon and pub tonight.

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset.

Our granddaughter passed her driving test yesterday morning, she was so excited. Big smiles here. Mr C and the mole wrench had sorted the under sink leak so a good sort out of the cupboard contents and some new storage baskets and it’s the tidiest it has ever been. Took some home made soup to a neighbour, chatted with a friend on the phone and that was about it. The sick bay report was that our daughter in law is struggling with pain but more than happy to be home.

I’m volunteering this morning, not sure what else today.

A very sad time ash. Hope you can sort a prescription oops. That’s worrying. Sounds as if your recovery is going to plan whitewave. Good for you.

With thoughts for all with personal mountains to climb. Have the best day you can everyone.

Georgesgran Fri 20-Oct-23 07:39:38

Good morning from Durham. I’m still in bed, but I can hear the wind and rain and it’s forecast the same all day. The pumpkin farm has abandoned its event, so we’ll have to find something else to do later with DGS2. Double jabbed yesterday and both arms feel heavy and sore. Little Dog goes today - he’s company, but time he went home. He’ll be back.
Hoping our poorly GNs and their loved ones are improving. This weather won’t help!
Best wishes to all. X

brook2704 Fri 20-Oct-23 07:24:14

Good morning everyone from Inverness, luckily we’ve escaped the worst of the storm here, it’s just very wet and windy.
Ash so very tragic for the family, my heart goes out to them
A busy day ahead, I’m off to a volunteering session this morning and then to the gym at lunchtime for the aqua class. Need to pop to the optician for an eye test late this afternoon too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Fri 20-Oct-23 07:22:34

Good morning all from a very wet Black country.
Covid jab today then that completes all vaccines for this year.
At DS for tea so no cooking.
I hope our Scottish grans are safe and well in this dreadful weather.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
