Good Morning all.

We haven’t done childcare this week as 2 year old GS has hand foot and mouth again which I caught from him last year and ended up with a red raw mouth. We are going on a cruise to Madeira and the Canaries on Tuesday and we don’t want to be ill. As it is I’ve had a cough also caught from him for 6 weeks which is only just easing.

Having fun with the pressure on our boiler atm. And there is a crack in a flue noted during our service this week. The service engineer could not have timed his visit better as he helped DH lift up the storage unit he had just constructed from IKEA. Pleasantly surprised at the ease of construction though we need 2 missing screws which they will send. We are turning our small study into a storage room. We will turn the heating and hot water off when we go away.

Thinking of the population in the Aberdeen area this morning. 💐to Dusty Angel and her DH. Hope you feel better soon *Marydoll I have had 2 attacks this year of BPPV. It’s really horrible. Nanagarra I hope you’ve found some relief from your shingles. I don’t understand how 65 year olds can get a vaccine but at 68 I have to wait until I’m 70.

Have the best day you can in this very dreary, soggy week.

Good morning from the South Downs. Haven’t a clue what the weather is doing as it is still dark, but whatever it is it is doing it quietly.

1 week since my op and progressing very well. Bruising should begin to fade with luck, and scars are looking less red. Stamina still not 100% but that will build once I start walking the dog etc. so all good.

My sister still has her mountain to climb, but now only has a week to wait. I’m sorting out Christmas who dun it’s for her recuperation period. Once her operation is done the doctors will be able to tell if there is any spread. She seems so well…….

Nothing planned - I will get the Christmas puddings made eventually - today might be the day😄.

Cold roast pork, salad and jacket potato for supper.

Peace, harmony and a full stomach to all of those in need of those things.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10°, windy and wet. The weather is usually from the west, so this storm from the east is hitting my living room window. It's nowhere near as bad as those further north are getting though. Ash it's an unbearable situation for the family.
Yesterday was the last of four childcare days on the trot. It wasn't great because we were stuck indoors for most of it. I did take them out puddle splashing but neither boy was happy as the wind was strong and they were uncomfortable. So rampaging round Grandma's house was the next best thing. I visited mum at night. She wasn't chatty but that was because she was working her way through a Tunnocks chocolate wafer. She has turned around her no eating or drinking and is eating much better.
Today I'm doing nothing! I have to go food shopping but that's it. I shall play with my new pastels, read, knit and watch tv and probably sleep. Have a good day all

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, I heard the rain beating on my window in the night, but not enough to wake me properly.
Covid jab yesterday left me with a thumping headache so I was in bed by 9pm but slept through which was good.

No call back from the GP yesterday so I’m left with my new meds not on my repeat prescription list and my old meds have been removed, I have enough to last me until Monday morning, so I guess another phone call (and join the queue) to the Drs this morning, let’s hope I can speak to someone today.
The cough is still there so this isn’t the time to run out of meds.
Ash a terrible time for all of the family.
GM you’ll soon have your new bathroom!
Hope everyone has a good day, safe travels to those on the move and a peaceful day to those who are unwell or looking after poorly relatives.

Morning all from a still dark and wet S E Essex.

I have to wake the 8 yr old GS at 7pm his request for breakfast is a bacon sandwich. Then it’s making his pack lunch for school. I will have a couple of hours then before I go to the gym.

Ashcombe that poor devastated family, I hope they get the emotional support and bereavement counselling they will need.

I hope our a Scottish Grans are all safe and well

Have a great day folks, those who can 🦩🙋‍♀️

Good morning from Bristol. Bad night, overslept a bit. No idea what it’s like outside but am very sad for eastern Scotland.
My heart goes out to the little family, Ash, May they manage to carry on.
A parishioner took the preserves to store in her garage, leaving me with space for my stuff, when I empty the cupboard for wall removal.
The plumber sent me a huge bill for things like shower trays, large even with a discount 🤨. Then I got one from the solicitor for some legal fees to extend my lease. That fee is humungeous and yet to come.
Spanish today, then and empty afternoon, I hope.
My prayers for those with physical and emotional mountainsvto climb. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset and the rest of the rain will fall today, with breaks

I have a room to clean today and machines to clean and oil, new fabric to catalogue and tidy away. Some more cutting out today and stashing in labelled boxes with the pattern instructions, all to keep me going for winter crafting. Only then will I tidy my dining/cutting space. I am liking my busy messiness

My dress has turned out perfectly, nice warm flannel, hanging for a day on my model. Now that the alterations and tweaks have worked, I may well trace that pattern as it has become a `tried and tested` and will join the others

Ash, I hope that peace descends on your family flowers

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. The rain kept me awake for some of the night. OH is getting up early again to let the decorators in for one last time. They have about an hour’s work left.
I should be going to London today for a day school on Holbein at the Royal Academy. Sadly my post covid fatigue makes that impossible. At least the administrator has said she would give me a free ticket to a future event.
So a quiet day. We can’t start putting things back in the bedroom/study as the paint won’t be dry.
Have a good day especially those who are suffering.

RosesandLilac Fri 20-Oct-23 05:57:45

Good morning, it’s been a stormy night here on the edge of the Cotswolds, I had little sleep.

Oh Ashcombe, as you say, there are no words. Utterly heartbreaking 🤗🤗

Off to the coast in west Wales today for two weeks, I am not overly excited about going because of various things but it will be good to get away. I think I’m well prepared for the weather! I’m taking plenty of things to do so I certainly won’t mind if the weather’s bad and I have wet weather walking gear so that won’t stop me getting out either!
Take care everyone 🌹

Good morning from a calm and dry Torbay.

I’ve been awake since 03.00 so can’t see much being achieved today. My ex and DS attended a Memorial Service yesterday for the poor young woman who took her life following the death of her baby. She was DIL to my ex's wife and leaves a distraught husband and daughter, aged 7. Some of you will remember me mentioning this tragic news last month. There are no words.

Thinking of those with health issues and other worries, especially our Scottish grans. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and appears to have rained in the night here in brackley.
Autumn seems to be slowly happening locally with trees and others yet to shed there leaves .
Went out on the bus yesterday ,and supermarket wise seemed very quite as to customers , mind you Bicester town centre has seen numerous store closures including Banks .
Although a bus pass holder < i go into Bicester on a service which starts before 0930 Monday to Friday bus start , mind you as to this adjoining counties have a 0900 start .
Take Care,
Mick
