Morning all.
DD and youngest GC had an unexpected sleepover here last night, so it’s all go this morning.
Hopefully I will get to the gym this morning, I am expecting a parcel from John Lewis (yes, I have started Christmas shopping 🎄) this afternoon.
Happy Anniversary NanKate 🥂
Marydoll and other poorly folks I hope you have a better day 😘
Have a good one folks 🦩🙋♀️

Good Morning Monday 23rd October 2023
(84 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
At the moment its dark but its dry here in brackley , I feel sorry for those living in the North Midlands ,and further in Scotland trying to recover from being flooded .
Today , usual trip into Bicester on the bus ,small shop then home .
Take Care,
Mick
My strike through word never works! 😥
Good morning and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.
Condensation on the windows.
Yesterday was sunny and quite warm. Little DGD and Dd came for lunch after her swimming lesson and both enjoyed their meal. First proper meal Dd has had after being poorly and she has lost about a stone in weight.
DGD carved her pumpkin (all by herself) and it looked satisfactorily creepy when we put the nightlight inside. She’s very particular so we were all relieved it turned out well 😤.
This morning I’ll walk the dog and then thoroughly clean the windows in the conservatory. A big job so ill - -make- - ask Dh for a bit of help 😅.
This afternoon we have Music and Memories, a U3A group which is great fun. It’s only once a month and my friend and her husband run it. She is a larger than life character and it’s very popular. Her lovely Dh does the music and is a quiet, smiley chap. A lovely combination.
Take care all and I love GM’s sign off - ‘don’t forget that random act of kindness today’ ❤️
Morning from South Lanarkshire, cold but calm. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs*NanKate*, enjoy your day.
Hope things improve Marydoll, you’ve been having a poor time of it.
I’ve got the chiropodist at 9.30 then a trip to Hobbycraft in the Fort shopping centre on the outskirts of Glasgow. Only my beloved DGD would make me tackle this, I hate the M8 and am managing to go because I’ve found a back roads route. I may be gone some time😂
baubles your day sounds quite elegant!
Wishing everyone the best of days.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another bright day in prospect.
Happy anniversary NanKate.
Strollers and striders at Masham this morning. A walk through the wetlands where there are good paths.
Home to some ironing before taking a friend to hospital for her radiotherapy. She has to go every day for 3 weeks and it’s a 70 mile round trip. I’m driving her to four appointments to help out a bit.
Wishing you all a good day.
Good morning from a frosty NE.
Yesterday was a much calmer day with a fair bit of sunshine.
My sister came during the afternoon and she showed me photos of her river cruise in France.
Simple meal of pasta with mushroom sauce and a salad with a glass of rose wine.
Nothing urgent today so will tidy round and maybe read my book.
Good morning from dry Harrogate- I do feel so sorry for those affected by the floods. You seem to have a good friend upstairs GrandMattie.
This morning DH has to phone the doctor, he has managed to get 2 appointments with Drs. The first a telephone 📞 appointment at 11.15 when he should be leaving for a face to face appointment which he needs!!
While I have my telephone call to my friend in Ayrshire. If I have time, I reckon it’s time to put my summer clothes away and bring the winter jumpers out!
Have the best day possible folks
Good morning from a brightening Colchester. The heating has bumped on and the rain is due back this evening.
My arm hurt for a week after this latest covid booster GM.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day, which we mostly spent outside.
This and that today, which will include a walk and laundry.
Love to all 🦩 x
Oh: happy Anniversary nankate
Good morning from a dry - forecast sunny South Downs. DH is out with the dog - urgent call - so I’m lounging in bed with a cup of tea. I can see my days are numbered though and I will be allowed to drive on Thursday - so DH will be the one doing the lounging.
Had an unexpected visit from friends yesterday, who called in and spent the day. Her niece is in Israel, and times are very anxious. I think that the family are hoping that she will return to the U.K. asap. The lamb I planned did nicely for us all and I had made enough chocolate mousse - so that was fortuitous.
Housework today - so a mundane day.
Pumpkin curry for supper.
Peace and harmony to all.
Good morning all from a foggy Glasgow, where it is -1°.
Happy anniversary to the NanKates.
I'm feeling pretty grim after my Covid and 'flu, jags, so I will just wish you all a pleasant day. I feel even worse than yesterday. Someone is using a jackhammer inside my head
Good morning from Shropshire.
Yesterday we all met at mum’s.It was lovely to see my little family all together.Mum seemed overwhelmed which was understandable but I noticed a decline in her.I can’t put my finger on it but something wasn’t right.I am expecting a phone call from her GP today so will see what she has to say.
Today is a day of waiting around.DH will drop the car off for a service and we will wait to hear when we can collect it.I also have to wait for a call from the plumbing company and the call from mums dr.
Thoughts so all and have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩
Good morning everyone from a clear and dry Inverness, it looks cold but I can’t see any frost
Happy Anniversary NanKate enjoy your special lunch! 🥂💐💕
DGS stayed for a sleepover last night so he’ll be up very school and back to school after the half term break. Later this morning I’ll be off to the gym and then hopefully a potter in the garden this afternoon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from the Black country still dark and curtains drawn so don't know what the weather is doing but hopefully it will stay dry.
Housework day methinks maybe the bedrooms unless a better offer comes along.
NanKate happy Anniversary enjoy your meal 🥂
RoseandLilac you sound like you're having a lovely holiday and what a treat to see the dolphins.
Enjoy your Monday folks whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Morning everyone from a bright north Kent.
Still on jury duty so today will be more of the same. We all feel very tired at the end of the day; the after effects of having to concentrate for long periods of time. The weekend passed with some housework (yuk) and some enjoyable pottering in the garden yesterday whilst enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Hope you all have a good day
Good morning all from a still dark outside Glasgow and goodness, is it cold 2deg. but dry and calm.
Although chilly, it was good to be out in the garden on a very welcome sunny day yesterday. Peacefully pottering about listening to music on my AirPods with the inevitable coffee breaks, sitting in the sunshine was just what the doctor ordered.
No set plan for today just do whatever I am in the mood for whatever keeps me occupied today.
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs NanKate 52yrs wow. 🥂
Best wishes to all for a good day and may your burdens feel lighter.
Good morning all from a dark and drippy North Leicestershire.
I have a gentle, pootling and faffing day planned as i am helping on a Carer's session via zoom this evening.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Happy anniversary to you both NanKate
Good morning from the Ceredigion coast where it’s still dark and chilly.
A lovely day yesterday, bright sunshine all afternoon.
In the morning I wandered along to the lovely little church and spent sometime in the churchyard (I love old churchyards), so peaceful and stunning views across to Pulimon and the Cambrian Mountains. I got chatting to an elderly man who has lived here all his life, such an interesting gentleman.
Then I sat on the bench overlooking the sea and did some sketching.
DH and the dog spent the morning on the coast path, both fell asleep most of the afternoon.
In the evening we watched dolphins very close to shore- a real bonus!
The sunset was spectacular, a beautiful end to the day.
Good morning Mick and All.
So dark but dry here in South Bucks.
Hope you begin to feel better soon grandMattie 💐
52 years today we got married and had wall to wall sunshine 🌞 Off for a nice lunch at The Ivy, a treat from our lovely ‘almost’ daughter-in-law !
Good morning from a still dark W Kent. Yesterday as expected was quiet with a bit of pottering going on until the ignition on the hob went on the blink and has been beeping ever since. Hopefully someone should turn up today to deal with it. We talked about downsizing again and had a look at what is available locally the trouble is we are nearly past doing anything about it. Our house is lovely but a lot of steps and stairs.
Thinking of everyone with problems and illness
Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s very dark and no rain forecast.
Had a good few hours with Beechnutella helping yesterday and she went off home with a few things. I have to hopefully take the rest somewhere today and later on in the week. I’m not actually looking forward to the task but will feel cross with myself if I don’t do it.
Have the best day you can all 🌻
GrandMattie freezing fog has now descended! I had to scrape the car before I could leave
Good morning everyone from a dry Northampton, 4° out at the moment, and set to be a sunny day.
Yoga this morning first thing then get the bus home to a day of gentle pottering; may cut the back grass this afternoon.
Very much enjoyed the film 'The Miracle Club ' yesterday, a tale of homecoming, hope and reconciliation. A bit weepy at the end. Did a bit of shopping in town afterwards; some new leggings from Primark, which I shall wear to yoga this morning.
Smoked haddock, new potatoes and peas for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a calm and peaceful day.
Good morning from Bristol, it currently is 10C, a lot warmer than batty’s!
Very quiet day yesterday, still felt unwell. Curiously, the covid vax had given me a rather sore shoulder. Church and nothing much else.
I made myself moussaka for dinner, I had planned for it to give me two meals but it was so big that I had enough for at least four! So I invited my upstairs neighbour for an impromptu meal. She said she’d has a big meal at lunchtime so wouldn’t eat much…. She ate as much as I did! 😂
Tesco this morning and possibly the pensioners’ film after in the church hall this afternoon.
I hope those who are unwell have a reasonable day. Don’t forget your random act of kindness today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
