Bye bye bath

The best type of shower is a walk-in with a glass brick wall, a window next to it and an extractor that comes on automatically.
Seen this in a relatives house and think it is just the best idea - plus room for a seat.
No cold wet flappy curtains to go mouldy, no smeary and precarious glass screens( I always think they’re going to break or come unattached

LadyStardust me too! About once a month I do spray the screen with a limescale remover, give it a scrub with a scourer bathroom cleaner sponge and rinse. Does the trick!

What is all this wiping down malarkey! I shower, get out, wrap myself in a towel, make sure the window is open and clear off. Clean the shower about once a week. I'm obviously a total slattern.

I hate glass screens. More work! Much prefer the old shower curtains.
My solution, which I love, is a large thin plastic table cover draped completely over the screen. It takes the splashes and the screen remains immaculate!👍
I take it off when I have visitors and rather resent them splashing my screen…

We take in turns to dry our shower daily. Using a window vac and the a microfibre cloth, it takes a few minutes. The grouting and sealant stay pristine so we see it as saving work in the long run. Also, the bathroom always looks as new which pleases us. Ours is a big walk in shower where the bath used to stand.

I agree. I have a walk in shower and use a squeegee on the glass and tiles followed by a window vac. I use a micro fibre cloth around the bottom of the walls then spray all over with Shower shine. As you say it takes minutes and well worth doing.

i use "wet and forget" spray - spray it on the shower after each use, and it helps keep it clean

I dry off the shower walls and glass surround with a large microfibre towel before I get out of the cubicle after showering, then use the Karcher window vacuum to clear the base after I get out. Luckily we have reasonably soft water so limescale is not a big problem.

We have showers which we use mostly but also a small spa bath, same dimensions as an ordinary bath. Easy enough to get in but getting out I have to turn onto my knees first these days. That works for me. Sick of getting older, it sucks!

After every shower I wipe down the glass doors, taps, shower head and holder with a flannel, as well as sopping up the water lying on the flat surround, to stop mould appearing.
For cleaning I use whiter vinegar, which I spray everywhere on the walls and doors, when I feel the need to clean.
I can’t deal with those rubber scrapers, they leave streaks when I use them.

I spray the wet bits with Method daily shower spray after each use.- before dressing. I am asthmatic and avoid most cleaning sprays but don’t seem to react to this one.

I have hip and knee problems, so I was having trouble getting in and out of the bath.
I found a firm called U-door, which put a waterproof door in the side of the bath.
Problem solved!

'Astonish' daily shower spray can be picked up in most bargain homeware stores and pound shops. My local pound shop still sells it for a £1.
Also if you are having a shower/bathroom refit consider using wall paneling instead of tiles. Lots of new finishes and colours to be had.....and no grout to clean! What's not to like!

Invest in a shower head with masses of tiny beads in the stem - available from Amazon. Our water here on the edge of the Cotswolds is as hard as you can get it, being a limestone area, and this shower head is amazing. The beads filter the water so there’s absolutely no scum at all and feels beautifully soft. Just a quick wipe down with a micro cloth is all you’ll need, I promise you!

I use mr muscle shower shine,just spray and leave,it’s brilliant stuff, no need to wipe or anything!

We have a water softener too and it solves most problems, though the water tap in the kitchen and bathroom sinks need to be hard water so those do need more cleaning.
It also improves the toilet, just a quick swish with a brush is all you need.

Apparently Method and Ecover have both been bought by SC Johnson, a large company owning many household brand names.

I've used Method products for a long time and thought the ingredients were natural but one spray did cause me a problem recently.

Apparently big supermarkets in Australia have stopped stocking them since they found that they were being labelled as non-toxic when in fact they are not.
Has anyone else had a problem? Do you use a mask when spraying any of these shower shine products, supposedly natural ones like Mehod included?

I use a rubber scraper after each shower as well. No different really from cleaning the bath after each use.
On reading this back I must clarify, I use a rubber scraper to clean the shower cubicle after each shower.
