I go to bed approx 1115 and sleep to approx 0730. If I have trouble going to sleep I listen to sleep meditation tracks using the Insight Timer app (it has loads of tracks and is free) and air pods.

I go to bed about 11pm - read for about an hour- get up about 8.15am- and have one or two loo visits but go straight back to sleep.

Mostly we turn off the tv around midnight then shower then I sit at my computer for half an hour or so, get into bed around 1 - 1.30 read my book for an hour or so until I fall asleep. Then we are usually up by 7 ish.

Amazing the number of poorly sleeping women. I thought I was a poor sleeper but I am sorry to see so many who are worse..

Bed at 10 up two or three times a night for the loo. Toss and turn but start work a bit later.

Whatever time I go to bed, I can still be awake at 3, 4 or even 5. Watch TV until husband comes to bed, he’ll be going through social media catching up, while I’m probably finishing watching FBI, NCIS etc that he doesn’t watch or catching up with the soaps that I’ve missed if we’ve had the Grandchildren while playing games on the iPad. TV off, hubby asleep I’m still on the iPad but listening to Audible with one of my EarPods… if I wake up early I put the other EarPod in and go back to sleep… Wake up anytime…

I've been an insomniac since childhood, as well as being naturally nocturnal, so my sleep pattern is all over the shop! I live alone, apart from my pooch, and have a chronic health condition, neither of which help my sleep (my dog is elderly and is becoming incontinent so he needs to be let out every 3 hours or so throughout the day and night or he'll have an accident. And my health condition has interfered with my sleep for years). So I don't have a set bedtime or wake up time. Last night I was settled by 1am, the night before it was 3.30am, and some nights I'm still awake at 7 or 8 in the morning! I would have loved to have had a "normal" sleep pattern all my life but it was never to be (I often used to sit up all night reading when I was a young teen, then go and do a full day at school with no problem at all, before dozing off on the bus home, preparing to do it all again....)

11.00 - 11.30. Don’t read, look at devices or watch tv in bed. Don’t have to get up in the night unless dog needs to go out (which husband deals with). Occasionally wake up for a while which is good thinking time if something needs sorting. Wake about 7.30 and get up. I suspect my epilepsy medication - barbiturates - is conducive to a good night’s sleep!

Sleep 8 hrs Go to bed when tired varies depending on how strenuous my day has been. I sleep on a grounding sheet
Rarely wake up before I’ve slept for 8 hrs.
I’m sure the grounding sheet helps with inflammation in my joints too. So worth the investmentsmile

Between midnight and 0100, having knocked off Wordle in English, French, German and Italian. Latin early in the morning.

Since my husband became seriously ill, I try to get to my bed about 9 as I have to get up and help him three or four times a n ight. Fortunately, I have n o difficulty falling asleep again as a rule, and if I do stay awake too long the one cat comes and cuddles and his purring sends me to sleep again.

At the moment, anytime between 10 and 12.
Read/listen to audiobooks on my old phone until I fall asleep. 2.30- toilet and tablets that need taking at least 30 mins before food or caffeine. Then up between 6.30 and 7.30, depending on the dog’s alarm clock

sunglow12 Tue 31-Oct-23 16:23:35

My phone pings a bit of Brahms lullaby at ten pm - reminds me it’s bedtime so I go a bit after and sleep till 7 am apart from creeping out to the loo x2 in the night ps don’t know how the lullaby got on my phone or why it decided that time ! 😴

Boz Tue 31-Oct-23 16:20:40

Bed 9.30 to 10.00 - Audio book until 11.30 - Sleep - Loo at 2 - Loo at 4 - awake by 8.30. Sleep well inbetween loo trips unless something on my mind. Try not to switch on phone in night to catch latest news as too depressing.
Reading Robert Harris's book Second Sleep, I learned that during the middle ages it was quite normal to sleep in two halves and even get up and walk about or even go out in the middle of the night.

I'm stunned by how little sleep some of you survive on. I thought DH was in the minority but it seems he's not but I, a sleeper, am.

Jaxjacky Tue 31-Oct-23 16:09:24

Janiepops Shetland is tomorrow night in England.
Bed about 10, read for 30/40 minutes, sometimes wake about 5:30 for the bathroom, up about 7, we’re both the same.
I never sleep during the day.

Dempie55 Tue 31-Oct-23 16:08:55

I usually go upstairs at 11 pm, read till midnight, do Wordle and go to sleep. Wake for wee around 4:30, use nightlight so I go straight back to sleep. Sleep through till 9 am, check emails, get up around 9.30. If I can’t get to sleep (e.g. if I eat dark chocolate!) I listen to a history podcast on BBC Sounds- You’re Dead To Me is good - Greg Jenner has a very soporific voice!

62Granny Tue 31-Oct-23 16:04:53

We go up at 10, will read for an hour or so, then put the light out and try and sleep, usually I can drop off with 30 mins occasionally if I can't I will read another chapter, but I seem to sleep in 2-3 your bursts before I need the loo unfortunately, I can usually drop off again but if I can't I will read but no more than 2 chapters. Wake about 7.00am I will make a cuppa another read, but unless we have an appointment we don't get up till 8.30am , shower and dress straight away then breakfast.

Greciangirl Tue 31-Oct-23 15:56:03

Go to bed between 11.-12pm.
I should go earlier but there always seems to be something interesting to watch on telly.

Usually asleep, hopefully by 1 am.
Always wake up early and wish I could nod back off, but I never can.
I’m fortunate that I don’t need ever to get up in the night for the toilet.

Janiepops Tue 31-Oct-23 15:51:02

I go up between 1.30/2.00am. Having binge watched crimes/ murders etc. Shetland starts tonight, yippee!
Got the free online papers, Mirror, Sun,Daily mail, read them from cover to cover, so wish Times, Telegraph did a free online version.
Then play games, majong, word searches etc. Asleep by 2.30ish.
Then up by 11am, watch morning TV, brunch about 1pm, zizz for an hour around 2/3 , and repeat….
I love the lack of ‘clock stress’ now!
My husband is complete opposite, bed by 10, up at 6, but it works well for us 🤪

4allweknow Tue 31-Oct-23 15:44:24

Between midnight and 1.30 am. Have a read of Kindle to put myself to sleep, usually about 20 mins. Wake about 5 am, read and try to fall asleep again. Up 7.30 - 8 am but slow start to the day u less one of the usual days I have an activity arranged.

Dcba Tue 31-Oct-23 15:43:03

I’ve changed my sleep routine fairly recently because I was fed up with waking every 2 - 3 hours at least twice every night and it taking ages to drift off again. So…..stopped drinking cups of tea by 4 pm …..only drink water now with our evening meal and during the evening if I get thirsty…..and no snacking either! In bed by 10 pm - manage to listen to maybe half a BBC podcast before drifting off and am now sleeping right through till about 5.30 or 6 am. Then drift in and out of a light sleep for an hour or so and get up by 7am every morning. Feel so much better now I’m gett g longer and deeper periods of sleep- wish I had thought this whole sleep cycle through and made the changes ages ago.

RosesAreRed21 Tue 31-Oct-23 14:54:35

I would go to bed and sit up all hours on my iPad until we got a puppy now I’m in bed by 10.00 and asleep by 10.30 🐶
