Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very cold but bright South Yorkshire. I woke at ten past four because I thought the heating had come on but it hadn’t. Just one of those strange noises this house is prone to make! No sleep after that. DS is coming down for football and I hope he will be early enough to eat lunch before he goes to the ground. Last time he came he only had time to use the facilities before he was off again! I have a quiet afternoon planned - knitting and a walk out.
Bathroom looks great, GM!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country.

A pleasant day yesterday with my friend. We went on the train to Solihull, for a little shopping session and lunch. I only bought something from Lakeland and a couple of Christmas cards for DGD3 and Niece. Train was stood at Snow Hill station on the way back for about 25 minutes, but arrived home by 5pm.

MrJ left for Bristol yesterday, and will be home this evening. He said it was gridlocked in Bristol when he arrived around 4pm. I did warn him that he should have left around 11am!

Today I am meeting up with DD and family, and Mum for lunch. I booked a table at their local over the phone. DD messaged me this morning with a screenshot of them saying the kitchen is closed today! Thanks for letting me know! I managed to book a table at another pub near Mums.

Just made a Lasagne for DD for her freezer or to have tomorrow. That's one meal for them in the week sorted!

Your Bathroom looks lovely gM I am sure you are glad it is all done, and was worth the wait.

Wishing you all a great Saturday.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Off to catch the train to London soon, meet up with DD, a few days away. I never seem to sleep well the night before a trip, even though I turn in early…I have to pick up my tickets from the machine in the main station. Much prefer to have them previously rather than mucking about in the station…
Enjoyed art yesterday and now have two Xmas cards to print off.
Glad your outing went well Mick, I love coach day trips, no hassle. Birthday greetings Gingster DH, fab bathroom GM and thoughts to all with worries🌺

Ash enjoy being an elf.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a bright but freezing Colchester. Zero rising to 6° today. Staying dry and yesterday's wind has dropped. I love weather like this.
Hair cut this morning as we are off to a wedding later. Young friends who have lived together for ages are taking the plunge.
Love to all 🦩 x

Mick glad you had a nice day yesterday.
grandMattie the bathroom looks great loving the flooring.
Ash one of our local churches has its Christmas fayre I may wonder along if it gets a bit warmer.
Friends coming later and we shall go to the club.
Usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later, enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gingster Sat 25-Nov-23 07:43:29

Good morning all and it’s 🥶.
Dh and ds2 still snoozing but they’ll be down soon for a birthday breakfast. DS1 will appear before he takes his family to London for lunch and a show. (Can’t believe he’s 50. Born 6 weeks early and in an incubator for a couple of weeks). 👶🏼

Dd and DGD will come round with Gaga’s present and wish him a happy birthday .

Lovely bathroom GM. So pleased for you.

Good morning from Shropshire.Like elsewhere we have the first frost of the season.

Out to Shrewsbury shortly for an early endoscopy. When we get back I shall read/nap in the conservatory which should be nicely warmed by the winter sun.

The bathroom looks lovely grandMattie.Enjoy!

Have the best day you can everyone🌺🦩

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is -2 according to Alexa.

Our choir is singing outside this morning - must look out my thermals. We also have a man coming to clear the gutters - we live the high life here!!

Grandmabatty Sat 25-Nov-23 07:34:10

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -2° with clear skies. It's a cold one nearly everywhere this morning. GrandMattie the bathroom looks great and will give you peace of mind now. Ash enjoy being an elf!
Yesterday I got all the housework, washing and ironing done. I visited mum in the afternoon and she was ok. At night I drove to Stirling to a private showing of an art exhibition in aid of the local hospice. I gave a donation but didn't buy anything although I was sorely tempted by a painting. I met my chum there and it was nice to see him. We are making arrangements to have afternoon tea before Christmas.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food. I want to go to a local Italian restaurant to pick up a gift card and then I have deliveries due, so I won't be going far. Have a good day all

karmalady Sat 25-Nov-23 07:27:56

very cold and we can look forward to a very sunny day in s somerset

Yesterday involved some heavy lifting and several walks into town, I don`t need to repeat that today. I intend to bask indoors, to take advantage of the sun, which will soon be streaming in. I will probably read my book and get on with knitting. I love it when the sun streams in during the cold months.

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from a cold and dry Inverness, definitely need to wrap up warm
What a lovely bathroom gMattie pleased it’s all done and dusted for you now.
I’m off to the hairdressers first thing for a much needed tidy up and then a trip into town for a bit of shopping
Enjoy being an elf Ash and hope the Christmas fayre goes well
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a cold and frosty Torbay, reflecting the dramatic decrease in temperature, which seems to be countrywide.

Thank you for all the supportive messages yesterday regarding my rather surprising health news. I guess I’m adjusting to it now and hope that I shall soon hear about the promised referrals.

How disappointing for you, RosesandLilac! Would another company fit your needs better? I hope your cold symptoms soon subside, baubles. The bathroom looks great, grandMattie; what a relief…..!

Our Christmas Fayre is on at church today and I’ve agreed to help Santa in his grotto so I must find something suitably elf-like to wear!!

Have a good weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Whitewavemark2 Sat 25-Nov-23 06:39:20

Good morning from a dry and frosty South Downs 1c. I assume there is frost as I haven’t looked out yet. If so it is the first of the season. Puffa jacket to the ready!!

My son will be returning from the Galapagos this weekend, so I will be regaled with hundreds of photos of Machu Picchu, the rain forest and animals. They have been away for just over 3 weeks - seems ages.

I plan to make the Christmas cake today, the fruit has been soaking in brandy, orange and lemon juice overnight. I’ve decided on a GH classic rich fruit cake this year. So the house will smell delicious today🙂

The birds are very hungry at present - they must be stocking up for winter.

Lamb Shanks and fresh fruit salad with vanilla yogurt for supper.

Peace and harmony to all

grandMattie Sat 25-Nov-23 06:36:57

Good morning from a frosty Bristol. I have no idea what the temperature is, but it is sub-zero as the cars are all frosted.
All done in the bathroom, just the hall floor to do! Yippee!🥳
You can see the difference and necessity of the work done. I had4 people in the bathroom and hall, all squashed together. It was very funny.
I made a cake for my upstairs neighbour to take to her family as thank you for all her patience with the noise and my constantly using her loo.
DD likes to see the murmuration of starlings on the Somerset levels as birthday outing. I have been before. Although fascinating, I get so very cold in the damp air, that I am miserable and grumpy, so have declined.
No coffee in church this morning, so I’ll go to town to get some backing fabric for the sailing boat quilt.
I hope all the weekend plans work,n that everyone has a contented weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, pleased you had a good day Mick
Not checked on the weather yet, but the moon was bright in the sky so it’s probably going to be frosty.
Out today to try to find a pair of boots for MrOops to replace the ones he bought over 20 yrs ago, the soles have split so they have to go, he will reluctantly get rid of them one day, sigh……
I’m sure he won’t want to pay the updated prices though.
Apart from that a nothing day
Have a good one everybody, let’s hope we see some sun even if it’s freezing cold.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. I haven’t looked out I’ve no idea what the weather is like.

Thank you for all your good wishes for DH’s birthday the other day. We had a really good time and finished the day having dinner with DD’s family in a favourite restaurant near their home.

I knew I was brewing a cold on the way home on Thursday and woke up yesterday feeling shivery and nauseous with absolutely no voice. My throat feels fine but my voice is still AWOL, weird.

Today would have been my mother’s 93rd birthday, it’s also the anniversary of my father’s death 18 years ago.

No plans today other than doing some online shopping for Christmas.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

RosiesMaw Sat 25-Nov-23 06:06:05

Good morning from cold and frosty N Bucks. Another dog has opted for snuggling up and I can’t say I blame her.
No plans for today as yet - too early to think about it! Glad your day went so well Mick - what a nice start to the festive season!
Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.

Good morning from Cornwall where the moon is shining like a beacon on to my patio and the air is crisp and dry. Delicious. Today I must get an early bus to my daughter-in-law's, only a ten-minute journey away, to feed her window-busting cat before returning to welcome my eight-year-old granddaughter for the day. She and I will make our usual controlled mess with paint and cornflour.

Plans to meet another Gransnetter before Christmas are afoot, yippee.

RosesandLilac Sat 25-Nov-23 05:53:55

Good morning Mick, good to hear that you had an enjoyable trip yesterday's!
It’s a cold -4° start here in south Gloucestershire, the cars have a layer of frost on them, the dog is snuggled up alongside me and I’ve been awake since 4am for no particular reason.
An exasperating couple of days Thursday and yesterday trying to book a few days away in Wales. It appears that unless you want to start on the crossover day then you won’t find anything unless you want to stay in the backend of nowhere (I definitely don’t) or pay for the whole week 😡
Given up now and cancelled my plans.
Today a nice dog walk in the sunshine hopefully!
Have a lovely weekend everyone 🌹
