Back Brush, a Shy Recommendation

I made a better back brush today.

Took one pot scrubber brush the sort everyone has very cheap from Tesco.

Took a large towelling wash cloth and a pyjama cord off old pyjamas.
Wrapped the soft cloth round the stiff bristles ( which keep the soft cloth in place, and tied it on at the neck with the cord tied in a bow.

The cord is easily untied for washing the cloth, and the shape of the dish scrubber gives some purchase on that tricky area just below one's shoulder blades.

I've got one of these - I put it on my wish list for last Christmas and one of my DDs bought it for me. It's much softer and more manoeuvrable (wow - that was hard to spell!) than a traditional back brush and doesn't scratch. I really can recommend it, only trouble is that the wooden handle gets a bit soggy and mouldy after a while. Sorry for the long link:

I guess for a lotion applicator I'd use the back of a long handled serving spoon. I have a plastic one that would do just fine.

I use a hairbrush, one that doesn't get used for brushing hair.

Maybe use that thing dry rather than in the shower, Bella?

I’ve used a sponge headed washing up on a handle ( the scrubber surface, I slice off) thingy for years - to apply sun tan lotion to my shoulders and back. Works beautifully! Don’t think I’d do it in public though 🤣

I find the bristles on back brushes a bit painful, I’ll buy a mop next week.

I great idea one of my DDs bought me what looks like an oven glove with handles on either end to sort of push and pull across your back, don't go there, especially in a small shower I had bruised elbows and it took ages to dry.
