According to the Met Office, the halo can suggest rainfall might be approaching

Yes in south Hampshire, MrJ spotted it and called me to have a look, I’ve seen it before, but not so big. Quite wonderful.

I only saw it because DS2 messaged me after spotting it himself. I'm so glad he did 😁

Yes, I know, but it was still a wondrous thing to see. For me it was the first time i had seen it in my 80 years of life.

Ice crystals

Yes, we have seen it in south Oxfordshire. We came out of Dorchester (on Thames) Abbey after going to a wonderful performance of a Bach Mass - and there it was like some good omen and almost everyone coming out, stopped to wonder at it.

Apparently ths Aurora Borealis is visible from some areas too.

Yes, we’ve got it in Mid Wales, it’s got a green tinge.
