Shop wise noticed people buying Black Friday white items , plus the cafe I use was busy ,someone I know sat with me talking but because it was busy could not enjoy a proper conversation .
Today will be xmas build up sort cards etc .
Take Care,
Mick

Urms, you did give me a shock, but so relieved to read that your news referred to April!
Late reading again today. So just catching up.
There was the Winter Carnival in town today. Ventured out after Church and could hardly walk through the crowds. Went back into Church and had a lovely mug of soup and a roll. The Church coffee shop was very busy, so pleased for them.

Aw, thank you everyone. You are all so lovely.

Yes, I was just pointing out that although ‘good news’ (Susan 😊) is great to receive as one leaves the endoscopy room, our experience (on a bluddy Saturday morning, typewritten sheet, no doctor) was heartbreaking and cruel, I thought. We had all weekend to just sit with it and were in bits. We were totally expecting news of a hiatus hernia. Our lives tipped upside down at that point as I’m sure you can imagine. Awful.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 26-Nov-23 14:49:58

Blimey Urms! I’ve just reread your post. So glad it refers to something a while ago and not new current stuff.

brook2704 Sun 26-Nov-23 14:33:57

Such a relief Urms thank goodness there’s no further bad news ❤️
Beautiful pictures grammaretto and stilllearning thanks for sharing - we looked out last night for the northern lights but couldn’t see any, you were really lucky!

Taichinan

So glad I misinterpreted your post Urms flowers

Me too. I thought you had more upsetting news regarding your DH this week, Urms.

Good morning all from a misty, chilly Glasgow.

An easy day ahead today. DH is engrossed in watching F1 and I may or may not go to Waitrose or do some housework. I am leaning more towards a lazy coory doon day with my latest book or searching for a decent film to watch.

Wonderful news Susan. Such a relief for you.
What a stunning photo Grammaretto
Easily recognisable photo for me Stilllearning as Connel Bridge brings back happy memories of travelling on to Oban to our favourite seafood restaurant Ee Usk.

Best wishes to all for a calm pleasant day.

cornergran Sun 26-Nov-23 11:36:52

Relieved to read the clarification urms. Phew.

Tink75 Sun 26-Nov-23 10:28:24

Good morning. Covid for the second time last week but tested negative today. Goodness knows where it came from as I have hardly been anywhere with all the rainy weather.

Keep warm Cornergran my sympathies are with you.

Taichinan Sun 26-Nov-23 10:28:08

Good morning all. It's 2° on the Angus coast at the moment which compared to some of the temps reported on here is quite balmy. The tractor's busy seed sowing in 'my' field today - winter wheat. The November storms have put him way late this year, but it's lovely to see!
A mixed bag of health news on here this morning. So sorry to hear that you and DH have received bad news Urms, but delighted to hear your news was a relief Susan. Also sorry to hear that covid discovered your whereabouts Cornergran and hope it's not too bad for you. Marydoll postponing any changes until after Christmas sounds like a good plan. Babydoll sounds like a real little livewire.
By all reports my little Ollie is giving the new parents a stormy introduction to the realities of parenthood - sleeping like an angel all day and screaming all night. They have decamped to stay with granny and papaPat so that there are more people to share the nightshift! Goodness I was lucky with my three - but probably not the best time to tell them that!
Yesterday was a glorious day for me - once I had figured out a way to reach my destination avoiding bridges destroyed by Storm Babet, my main road having been closed due, I think, to a too-high lorry trying to get beneath a too-low bridge. My destination was a glorious garden centre (not a chain) which stocks beautiful out-of-the-ordinary gifts where I could do all my Christmas shopping in one go. Well, maybe not - but I broke the back of it. I wandered round first of all taking snaps of ideas, had a look at the photos and then went wild with a trolley! I did enjoy it! I even got nyger seeds to attract the goldfinches back to the bird table.
The drive home was a picture once I got the city behind me. I took the old coast road home and the view of the huge almost-full moon hanging over a calm sea, reflecting the light of the setting sun, was a sight to behold. I was too busy just drinking it in to take a photo, stupidly. But it was a vision to hold in the mind's eye
Today the clouds are back - but the washing's in the machine! Must get on now after another sleepless night. Have a happy Sunday, in whatever way you can x. 🌙🌝✨

Good morning from a cloudy Oxfordshire, a bit warmer but although yesterdays sun was brilliant to be in, it was -4 for most of the day. We went to buy MrOops some walking boots to keep his feet dry when he is dog walking, came home had a cup of tea and I was suddenly very sick, that continued all evening and part of the night, so I’m feeling a bit fed up.
Excellent news Susan 💐
GM at last the end is in sight for you, you must be so pleased.
Urms 💐yes it’s brutal isn’t it.
MD 💐
Hope all those with Covid soon get better and that all poorlies get well soon.
Have a good day everyone

Blossoming Sun 26-Nov-23 10:13:28

Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 2°C.

I have not posted for a few days as I haven’t received some shocking news regarding two friends and I am struggling to process it. Life can be so cruel sometimes.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🌹

Georgesgran Sun 26-Nov-23 10:03:41

I do hope Urms post refers to past experience, when Himself was first diagnosed and not a new development? X

Jaxjacky Sun 26-Nov-23 09:49:59

What smashing pictures Grammaretto and Stillearning thank you.
Morning Aveline 👋👋.

Aveline Sun 26-Nov-23 09:44:55

Good morning all. I don't usually read this thread but was up very early and am glad I did. I don't have a very exciting day in store which is fine. Yesterday was busy and next week has filled up with activities (how does that happen?!) Among other things, we're going to visit a potential new cattery for 'the boys'. The old one we used to use changed hands and really isn't very well run at all now.

Urmstongran Sun 26-Nov-23 09:42:49

Just to clarify - that news was back in April.

Grandmachrisy47 Sun 26-Nov-23 09:41:29

urms 💐 . Susan56 so pleased for you. Hope those feeling poorly soon get relief.
Off to cycle through The Archers, as usual.

cornergran Sun 26-Nov-23 09:37:57

A hug and love to you both urms. flowers

EkwaNimitee Sun 26-Nov-23 09:18:17

Urmston, I'm sorry to hear you've had some very bad news...

Jacs7 Sun 26-Nov-23 09:15:51

Morning everyone from a cloudy but dry north Kent. Still lolling about so no idea what the temperature outside is, but suspect it’s chilly.

Can’t decide whether to go for a walk along the seafront later this morning or whether to sort out the clothes I want to take on holiday. We go on January 2nd and will be away until the beginning of March so quite a bit to sort out; must unearth my swimming costumes from the depths of the wardrobe just to make sure I look reasonably decent in them 🤣.

Hope those with covid and other illnesses have a reasonable day and that everyone has a good Sunday

aggie Sun 26-Nov-23 09:15:00

Good morning , no frost this am ,
Urms 💐 🕯️ and 🙏🏼

EkwaNimitee Sun 26-Nov-23 09:14:55

Good morning Mick and everyone from a back to grey Carlisle where it is 2°C. It was so cold yesterday that the iron-hard ice in the bird bath still hasn't entirely melted.
I went to the garden centre yesterday morning, after a considerable amount of time was spent defrosting the car which had a layer of ice inside the windscreen as well as out. I bought two poinsettia plants, one pink ,one cream, which will be my sole effort at Christmas decoration.
In the afternoon, I went out and did some pruning, especially of my crab apple bush tree which has grown rapidly. There are still plenty of fruits left on it for the blackbird which comes in regularly for them. I got very cold and was glad to get in for coffee and my first mince pie of the season (I used to start at the beginning of September....a box of mince pies a week from then till Christmas does not do waistlines a favour!)

I shall stay in today and work at various little jobs and read the papers.

What a beautiful part of the world you live in Stillearning. I've visited that area several times.

I hope all you poorlies find improvements today, best wishes!
Have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Sun 26-Nov-23 09:14:40

Good morning everyone from a very grey and frosty day in Northampton; -1° outside, rain showers expected this afternoon. Sitting on the sofa with a blanket over my knees waiting for the house to warm up before I go and have my shower, Boom radio playing on Alexa.

A quiet day in yesterday with the papers and watched my teams recorded rugby match from Friday night (even though I had actually been at the match!)
Binge watched all episodes so far of the Michael Portillo Andalusia series, and longed for the warmth, colour and sunshine!

Out to the cinema, braving the cold, after brunch to see the Cliff Richard film of his anniversary concert.
An M&S roast beef in Yorkshire pudding for dinner tonight, cannot be bothered to cook after an afternoon out.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.

bikergran Sun 26-Nov-23 09:03:27

Chilly lancashire here, have not poked my nose out yet,but will be doing as I am off to work at the Supermarket,I hope my customers are kind today! Brrrrrr..bfn

Urmstongran Sun 26-Nov-23 09:03:00

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry. Himself has a cold. Mixing again with folk. He will stay warm and cosy at home watching the F1 racing. I will pop into the larder for some bits my stepfather needs and go to see him this afternoon on the bus. Glad to hear your good news Susan56. Your relief will be huge. Sadly awful news for us was also given as we left and we took home a sheet of paper with all the frightening news typed up on it and left to stew on it all over the weekend. It was a brutal way to find out.

Here’s Matt.
