Marydoll what a disaster! I would have wept at the loss of all that food. Of course I wasn't offended. I took it in the spirit it was given.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its 5°C and cloudy.

Ash, that's more positive news. If there was a concern, you wouldn't be allowed to drive. My clinicians are very prompt in stopping me driving, because they have a legal obligation to do so.

My quiet day yesterday turned out to be full on and I really wasn't up for it.
We picked up Dollie from school and I dropped off mountains of craft material. There is more to come!
I asked if any staff were studying the Romans and was told a member of staff is desperately looking for materials, which means I can get rid of even more stuff!!
I told the PP I was doing a Swedish death clean, he was horrified, when I explained what is was.

DIL phoned to say she was stuck at work, could we give Dollie her dinner? No problem and off I toddled to have a rake in the garage freezer. Unfortunately, it had broken down, leaving me with mountains of unusable food. I could have wept!
Much of my Christmas food was in that freezer.

DS messaged to say he would come for her ladyship instead of DiL, then messaged to say Glasgow was gridlocked, so it was back to DIL.
Then DIL phoned to say, she was also stuck in traffic.
Dollie was delighted, for she had no intention of going home anyway.

At this point DD appeared to see if I needed a hand to dispose of the wasted food. There were only two salvageable items, stewed apples and chicken breasts, that's tonight's dinner!
I had the bright idea of making crumble with the apples. Unfortunately, when I returned from the meet up, I found my kitchen scales smashed on the utility room floor. DH was the only person at home and of course he had heard nothing 😉
I had to guess the measurements for the crumble!

DH is golfing and on his return, we are meeting DIL and Babydoll after her swimming lesson at the garden centre for lunch. DIL is a wild swimmer and baby has taken to swimming like a duck to water.

Harri, I hope you hear better news of your sister.

Yesterday I visited my friend's partner who is struggling a bit. It's understandable at this time of year in particular. My wine delivery arrived a day early so that been stashed away in fridge and cupboard.
Today I have an early haircut. My hairdresser is a lovely man and I enjoy my short time there. After that, I'll do a little Christmas shopping. I have a list which I will firmly stick to. I'm very bad for adding things. Later I have a meeting with mum's social worker. We'll see what's being suggested about her continuing care. At five thirty I have my covid and flu jags to have. So a busy Friday with an unpleasant ending! Have a good day all

Guess who didn’t get to the cards yesterday? I’ll try today. Get up and go seems variable shall we say, coughing for the world doesn’t help or a head full of mush. . Oh well, it will pass, just wish it would hurry up. Mr C is so much better, you’d not know he’d had anything wrong with him I’m pleased and relieved if a little envious. Will try for a short walk this morning then the cards this afternoon 🤞.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dry but chilly South Yorkshire. Yesterday it poured down all day and I didn’t go out with the walking group (nor did anyone else I should think) or see DD for lunch, though we talked on the phone in the afternoon. I was on the phone quite a bit - I spoke to my lovely Welsh sister in law, and then I found I didn’t have an address for one of my Christmas cards (yes, dear reader - I finally wrote them!) so had a long conversation with one of DH’s brothers and his wife. The rest of my day was taken up with making a chicken casserole, and knitting. This morning, I have floors to clean and then I am volunteering at the school this afternoon.

It’s getting to look a lot like Christmas

Good morning my friends from the east coast of Fife where it feels very cold and according to my ring doorbell it looks very wet, however I’m off to my local community Shed this afternoon where I meet up with friends of old and we have great fun.
Last week we all sang Rudolph the red nose reindeer with our Christmas jumpers on, it’s a great place to go on a Friday afternoon.

Good morning from a still dark Colchester. A dry day with temperatures reaching double figures. Yesterday was wet and windy.
I have deliveries to wait in for and need to nip out for some bits I couldn't get in Lidl yesterday. I'll try to persuade DH to let me go alone as the parcels are bound to arrive the minute I leave. If I leave the shop until after the delivery they won't come until 5pm!!

Good morning from a dry and still dark Northampton; 6°C outside, and sunny spells forecast.
Had a good day indoors yesterday, was glad I was forced to stay in because of my ankle, as it rained heavily all day. I did very little except reading, and made a huge chilli in the slow cooker. I enjoyed one portion last night with a jacket potato, and have 5 portions left to go in the freezer today.

My ankle feels better each day; I have to go to the shops this morning, so shall treat it kindly, and dose myself up with Ibuprofen.

Out tonight for our neighbourhood's annual Christmas dinner. Taxis are booked, so no-one has to drive, and dinners are ordered. (I have ordered smoked salmon, roast turkey, and chocolate Bailey's mousse...) Should be a good evening.

Hoping today brings good things.

Baking day today, I asked GS how many mince pies , flapjack and cakes he wanted, he said, lots. I’m not sure how many that is, but I’ll do my best.

Still tucked up in bed, no idea what the weather is like. Yesterday was horrid and driving in the dark and rain at peak traffic times was not my idea of fun.
Today I shall be busy preparing food for Sunday when all the family are coming for DD2 s birthday.
Baby sitting the two little DGSs this evening so once they are in bed, I’ll get the Christmas cards written.

Good morning from a dry, mild Cornwall. Here's my usual patio mirror picture of the emerging daylight. Lovely time with my daughter-in-law in the most gorgeous friendly pub last evening, then watched Masterchef The Professionals set in a verrrry strange Danish restaurant; thought-provoking.

Today, the luxury of nothing in my diary so I may go to a new community café on the headland and then try my brace out walking on the beach. Had planned to meet another Gransnetter today but had to postpone it, a shame but something to look forward to next year.

Hope your sister is ok harrigran it’s always a worry when there’s no family close enough to help but good that she’s got her friend nearby 💐

Good morning from a damp but milder NE.
Yesterday it was so dark I had to have the lights on all day and the rain was continuous.
I eventually got the text with delivery slot for the wine and it arrived at 4.30pm.
Had a message from my sister, in Germany, to say that she was dizzy and had nausea. She had a fall which left her with a black eye and bruised cheek earlier in the week. I am concerned because she is on anticoagulants but she said her doctor had sent her for a CT scan and it had not shown any fractures. A friend visited her and took her BP, it was quite high so returned in the evening to do it again where it had normalised.
It is a difficult situation, she has no children and no other relatives close by, nearest is my DD living in Brussels.

Good morning from s somerset and we did not have the amount of rain predicted yesterday, thankfully. It does mean that my car journey tomorrow is on. It looks like a nice day today, relatively to the dark gloom we have had

I have become addicted to my knitting and have two jumpers on the go, very different patterns and one with lots of cables. I knit the plain one, while sitting cosy in my bed before I sleep

A local flat walk today and no shopping, just around town and back. Later I will pack my boot as I have things to take and I know I have cobwebs on my wing mirrors to remove

Good morning from dark but dry South Lanarkshire.

At our yarn group last night we bagged and tagged well over 500 Christmas angels ready to hang around the town tomorrow for the annual giveaway. It’s popular with children but many adults like it too.

Off to DS’s for our weekly childminding stint, daft dug is coming too for the first time. We’ll see how that works, normally she goes to DD’s or doggy day care but this is a bit of an experiment as DDoutLaw isn’t really a doggy person.

Good morning everyone. I am in Lanarkshire where it is dry and dark, rain forecast for later. Getting organised for work and looking forward to being off soon. We had a Christmas jumper day at work yesterday and a wee lunch which was lovely. Put my Christmas tree up last night and feeling festive. Hope your weekend is fab. I'm off to Festive Forest with my grandchildren and looking forward to seeing the Grinch. Mick it should just be coos you're waiting on lol Hope they arrive soon.
