Artistic, or dull and boring?

What does the Christmas photo say to you? Does its style send any particular message?
Just interested to hear.

It would be better with some colour in it!

The only one who looks at ease is Charlotte who is starting to look like a young Sarah Chatto.

Louis’ hand is awkwardly placed and if it weren’t for his white toecaps you wouldn’t be able to spot his legs.

If it’s supposed to look arty I don’t think it works.

Yes, she does look like Sarah, at least in that photo.

Casdon

No Glorianny, George is at least six inches taller, you could see that when they attended the Carol service last week. I think it’s just a composition, posing five people looks better if there is one in the middle.

You are absolutely right Casdon, but doesn't she look older in this photo with her hair down?

I was just wondering is Charlotte sitting down because she is as tall (or taller)) than George?

I like it, but then I have always disliked the photos people sent with the entire family wearing Santa hats or something equally stupid.

A recent photo of the growing children is fine to me.

Livey Mon 11-Dec-23 15:05:51

I am amazed Louis stood still.
I like it.

Mollygo I’m truly grateful that I don’t have to put our family picture up, lovely, though it is, for people to comment on

Indeed.

I'm quite grateful we've never been forced into family photos. If cajoled, my scowling is probably not attractive.

Soniah Mon 11-Dec-23 14:14:38

Well I'm glad I won't be getting one

BlueBelle

Good grief we re talking about a photo of William and his family why does it have to involve digs at his brother
It’s nothing at all to do with the photo , concentrate on the question in hand and that goes for both the ‘fors’ and ‘againsts’ it’s stupid and divisive

You're much more polite than I would have been, Bluebelle, that's why I didn't respond 🙂

But I hope I'm not gullible enough to believe everything that comes out of the mouths of the Montecito Two.

I'm sure Kate has less to worry about with regard to their children, now as in all probability they wont be having any contact with their lying aunt and uncle who despite their best efforts, have failed to destroy H's family sazzl.

Not a Christmassey photo but showing a handsome and happy family.

I always think it's rather vain sending self-portraits as Christmas cards, it doesn't look Christmassy at all, they're just trying to look cool.

BigBertha1 Mon 11-Dec-23 12:41:43

I quite liked it..very stylish but I agree not Christmassey.

Cossy Mon 11-Dec-23 12:40:43

Photo looks ok, it doesn’t do any of them justice and l love the candid colour shots of them. Oh I’m a Christmas fan, so would love a much more Christmassy photo

Spuddy Mon 11-Dec-23 12:38:15

It does nothing for me at all! I like the family but I think the entire picture and colouring is quite boring!

Interestingly, yesterday I came upon this photograph on Facebook.
I skimmed through the many comments. Every comment was positive.

I agree, it's not at all festive, maybe that's deliberate, to appeal to those who don't celebrate Christmas?

I did wonder about that 🤔. It does seem likely.

harrysgran Mon 11-Dec-23 12:17:02

No message really just a family photo they all look pretty relaxed

Glorianny Mon 11-Dec-23 12:13:35

So Charlotte had picked an outfit her mum didn't like. George didn't care. Louis wanted to wear his Minecraft T shirt. Kate tried on 15 designer dresses and didn't like any of them. William turned up in a white shirt and tie. So they sent a PA out to Asda to buy white shirts in assorted sizes. Kate told William to ditch the tie and they all posed. George still didn't care and refused to say "Cheese" or "Sausages".

Mollygo Mon 11-Dec-23 11:59:24

Lovely photo, though as has been said, not Christmassy.
I like the idea of some standing rather than everyone seated.

Although as I’ve already said I think it’s a beautiful photo, I prefer Charlotte’s usual plaited hairstyle to the long loose look.
