Good morning all and it’s looking to be dry. They keep telling us that, but every day we’ve had rain 😤.

Making mince pies this morning and then meeting our Friday friends at lunchtime. It’s one of the ‘gangs’ birthday so I expect we’ll have cake.

Nankate I’m going to see Wonka tomorrow with Dd and little gd. I’ve heard it’s good.🤞.
GG little gd is booked in to see Santa at Altons tomorrow . They usually do a good job there.

Good morning from a quiet South Downs Not sure of the weather.

Had my hair cut yesterday gg13 and I don’t think it is short enough🙂. It grows so quickly.

The Christmas tree and wreath are being delivered today, so the tree will go into a big bucket of water until tomorrow.

I will start to wrap presents - the first ones will be the ones need sending in the mail, and must marzipan the cake. My Christmas has begun🎄🎄🎄☃️☃️☃️🥳🥳🥳.

Seared gingered duck with sweet potato mash and broccoli for supper.

A last minute request to have the grandchildren overnight so a change of plans.Buddy the elf was ready to see all three grandchildren tomorrow lunch time but we will have to find some mischief for him to get up to today now🤦🏼‍♀️

This morning will be spent getting ready for tonight then a mammogram at lunchtime before school pick up.

Good morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire which is still dark but not too cold at 6 degrees.

Glad your birthday was so much fun baubles,what a thoughtful daughter!

I’ve managed to read later on in the day this week so I know your DH is back with you Ashcombe and that your play has been a great success, all good news👏. Also that lots of pre Christmas nativities etc are being enjoyed which is lovely.

I attended the local school’s carol service in our church on Wednesday evening and it was magical. We used to have a Sing a Song for Christmas evening in the town which all the local schools took part in and which was a nice start to the season but Covid put paid to that and it hasn’t resumed.

Christmas tree is now in place thanks to DD4 and it looks lovely. I wasn’t going to bother because I’m away for most of the festivities but I am glad now it’s up.

Visit to my sister in law today when the journey is manageable for me, I’m not keen on bad weather driving now.

I’ll try and attach a picture of my little nativity, the wise men have arrived early now that the children aren’t here to object😳

Good morning everyone from a brightening Northampton; 2°C outside, and sunny spells forecast.
I have a cat on my lap as I write, she doesn't like me doing anything else while she's here, and is madly vying for my attention. She's my furry live hot water bottle!

Managed to get all my shopping done yesterday, and DS kindly offered to pick me up from Sainsbury's afterwards which was a great help. Had a coffee and sandwich in M&S, so didn't have to bother with lunch when I got in. Spent the afternoon reading.

Should be going out to rugby tonight, but have decided that my ankle is not yet up to the walk to and from the stadium after we park the car. It's a good 15 minutes each way, and my neighbour who gives me a lift is a very brisk walker! Shall stay home in the warm and cheer them on from the comfort of my armchair! We are on BT Sport tv.

Looking forward to spending the day reading more of the Cazalet Chronicles, nearly finished book 1, and I found books 2, 3, and 4 in a charity shop for £1 each.

Hope we all do something today we enjoy,.something that gives us a smile..

Gingster when we arrived they had the virtual reality sleigh ride which was £3 per person, it was well worth it. Even DH was impressed and he has been Mr Grumpy as of late.

Lovely nativity, “still”, I’ve got a tiny, very sweet Peruvian one, but have no idea where it is. Still in the many unpacked boxes, I suspect. Next year…

Good news yesterday from my eldest DGS who called to tell me had had a new job. I think the best part ( other than more money) is that he doesn’t have to work weekends..
Today I’m going to see youngest DGS in his pre school concert. He’s only 2 1/2 so lots of cuteness to see.
Christmassy jobs later and I am getting on well with them now.

I have some wonderful news. DGS’s half brother who’s autistic and ADHD has just had an offer to train with Charlton Athletic FC youngsters. He’s just 16. I’m so happy for him, he deserves some good news.

Grey and still and definitely less cold this morning. I am spending the morning learning how the parish magazine is put together, something I fear is beyond my technical pay grade but the current editor needs to move on after five years and there is no obvious successor. I foresee sleepless nights over this but feel I must try. You think that by now I would have learned to say no but my social conscience is a bit too well developed,

Glad to read the good news about returning DH, efficient painters and planned visits to watch GC perform. A lot of very busy people on here this morning.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry but looks chilly out and Alexa tells me it’s 3°C. We are walking through the park to the Macmillan Centre late morning. I have a reflexology session and we both enjoy sitting and chatting to others whose lives have been touched by cancer. It brings us comfort to know we are not alone. This time last year my only thoughts were of Christmas arrangements. Life can change on a sixpence.

I didn’t get all my jobs done yesterday as I had a surprise visit from a cousin of DH late morning.

Today I am taking myself off to an exhibition I’ve been promising myself to go to.

Good morning from a still dark and damp Glasgow, no sign of rain….so far.

Nothing pressing today and if it stays dry I will enjoy a day of occupying myself indoors and out.
The house is in need of a fresh lick of paint but the thought of decorators invading our peace and privacy would be too disruptive. In the meantime, I have decided to make a few changes in the kitchen where we spend a lot of time around the table with whoever pops in. I have chosen new fabric for Roman blinds and curtains to be made, next, out with the old, past their best kitchen dining chairs to be replaced with new ones which will be delivered this afternoon.

Ooh, la, la, GM those bisous were pretty cheeky, excuse the pun. 😄

It will be nice to get your home back to yourselves Brook after the upheaval of workmen around. I’m sure it was worth it though.

Good morning all from what looks like a lovely Spring morning on the Angus coast. It was a gorgeous day yesterday too - thank goodness we're getting a little rest from all that rain.
Yesterday was a great day - if a tad exhausting. Tai Chi with three classes combined, followed by our Christmas lunch, followed by home to get ready for the evening, followed by off again to the second night of DGD's dance show. And breathe! The show, of course (!) was amazing and any one of those students could grace a West End stage.
The effectiveness of the night driving glasses was not just a one night wonder, I'm glad to say, so I'm no longer 'confined to barracks' from early afternoon in winter.
Today is the hearing aid people. Now if they can improve on the range of sounds I can hear my transformation from a caged old bird will be complete! I shall fly forth and join in all conversations. It's good to dream!
Anyway, off I must dash now without having read any posts. I hope Ash's run is still going well and that Olddudders had a trouble-free journey yesterday. And that Marydoll and Mr Doll are feeling better. And that all aches and pains and sickness everywhere will start to settle for the last sprint towards Christmas. Take care all x

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry south coast. A bit more food shopping on the cards today then I’ll nip to the garden centre for a couple of last minute presents.
I think I’ll put my feet up this afternoon and watch an episode of The Crown with a large mug of tea and Peggy curled up beside me. Perfick!!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a damp Carlisle where it probably showered overnight and more looks due today. Lots of blue sky visible though.
I was out early yesterday for a dental check up which finished with a descaling, a process I don't enjoy as my gums are a tad fragile and tend to bleed. I'm good for another 6 months apparently. Hope that's true, my teeth are a disaster waiting to happen usually.
I followed that visit up with a number of errands including a visit to one of the charity shops with a full bag. It included 2 unworn items, shame on me!
Today, some of the endless admin, a bit of bathroom cleaning and then I'm free to please me.

Good morning from a getting lighter but damp Eden.
No message from the gardener all week is she isn't she coming? We have a large dumpy bag of some covering for the borders which I shall put an ornament on if I get any more dirty looks from neighbours, letting the look of the village down.
Two houses have their light on all day on some fast flicker, DH commented luckily only to me that they will give someone an epileptic fit.
After seeing yesterday's local news I hope Ekwanimiti gets some satisfaction from Carlisle Hospital, as they seem to be in a bad state.

Yesterday I posted all the Christmas cards so job done. Then I picked up my friend and took her to another friend's house. On the way there was an anguished phone call asking where we were. The hosting friend assumed we were going for lunch, however that was never mentioned. I checked with my pal. I'm a bit worried about my friend who was hosting. She was uncharacteristically flustered yesterday and kept getting things wrong. I think her hearing is much worse than she says it is. Anyway it was a nice catch up.
Today I'll deliver the local Christmas cards. I have various deliveries due so will stay close to home. Dd might drop in soon with dgs2. Then later I'll visit mum. A quiet day for me. Have a good day all

It is my sister's 83rd birthday and rang her an hour ago as she is in Germany and an hour ahead of me.
I am having lunch with my friend in a gastro pub, I really enjoy our outings.
Plumber sent me quote for the work I need doing, I accepted immediately so that I get added to the work list, can't have any more delays.

Yesterday a nothing sort of day here, ordering some presents online, but had a long FaceTime with my flying DD in LA, strange to see the weather there as I was wrapped up under a heated throw in the dark.
I set up my wooden manger but its light isn’t working, hopefully it’s just the bulb…
Off to an organ recital with refreshments beforehand and hope I can park with Christmas shoppers abounding. I should carry on with various things here, but like to get out.
