Good Morning Everyone,
A dark , but its a dry start here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays supermarket experience , getting busier , the only let down is the fact the travellators are not working .
Bus to Bicester as usual , but going this last few mornings as seen delays due to traffic on A43 to M40 making bus journey times longer ,and most cars only one person in them .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all and it’s looking to be dry. They keep telling us that, but every day we’ve had rain 😤.

Making mince pies this morning and then meeting our Friday friends at lunchtime. It’s one of the ‘gangs’ birthday so I expect we’ll have cake.

Nankate I’m going to see Wonka tomorrow with Dd and little gd. I’ve heard it’s good.🤞.
GG little gd is booked in to see Santa at Altons tomorrow . They usually do a good job there.

Hopefully a gentle day to all.🙏

Good morning from a dry, cold Colchester. A sunny cold day forecast... lovely.
A walk to Aldi is today's highlight. DS came home last night so I have to feed him for an extra day this weekend. Such is military life that I never know when to expect him or for how long.
DH is out tonight at a Christmas dinner. They're having Pizza!?
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a dry Suffolk which is supposed to be calm all day.

I got a shock yesterday when I took my car into the garage for an estimate for the repairs. It is likely to be 3 times what my DH thought( I had no idea) and of course VAT on top. The knock has pushed the headlight out of alignment and damaged a bracket inside!

But a more pleasant day today as I’m meeting 3 friends for lunch and we always have lots of laughs and catching up to do.

It is DGS3’s birthday on Sunday and we were all going out for lunch. He has been unwell and off school for a couple of days and said last night that he would like us to go to their house for lunch. I asked DDinlaw if there was anything I could bring and got a message back to say DGS has asked if I could make a trifle “ if I had time”. We are reassured that he must be on the mend if he fancies trifle ( although he always loves his food).

Good morning everyone from a dark, cold and drizzly start to the day here on the east coast of Fife I’m having an exciting visit to a local auction house this afternoon where I’m taking a variety of vinyl records to be sold which we’re hiding in my loft I’m hoping for a few pennies from the sale but heyho I’ll just have fun. I’m afraid I didn’t get to the concert last night it was cancelled due to sickness my Christmas clothes are just hanging in my wardrobe screaming to get out.

Have as good a day as possible my friends I continue to think of my long lost gnetters who used to be my friends, I’ve moved on to newer pastures and happier for it.

Sorry, forgot to say yes (in response to yesterday's query) the earlier the better if you hope to acquire a £1.50 Lidl's veg/fruit box.

monk08 Fri 15-Dec-23 07:44:32

Good morning all from a dry Black country.
A quiet day today methinks for some unknown reason had a disturbed night, due to meet friends this evening so need to perk up before then.
Glad Oldudders arrived back safely.
Baubles belated birthday wishes 🎉🥂.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. I haven’t opened the curtains yet but I think we have a dry start to the day.
The Christmas party went well yesterday. The food was really good and there was plenty of chat and laughter.
Meeting a friend for coffee this morning then a few errands in town including the last Christmas gifts.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a dark Durham, where I was woken at 7am by ‘Microsoft’ No rain forecast today - I’ve a random spot of water in the porch, a worry that there’s a leak in the roof. I’m still coughing, hence the later start, but meeting a friend for a coffee this morning, then taking Little Dog home, before I have a nail appointment with DD2 at 1.00, (I’ll wear a mask) and I’m on standby to collect DGS1 from school.
Belated birthday wishes Bauble and pleased that OD arrived safely Ash.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from W Kent where we have a beautiful red sky. Another day indoors so I don’t frighten the locals. My black eyes are now many different shades. I will finish the ironing and a couple of parcels need doing up.
Best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dark and looks wet outside but quite mild at about 6º
Well done with finishing the jumper karma such a lot of talent on here
I had a lovely day yesterday, we dropped DGD off at school, a trip to the gym and then a gorgeous Christmas lunch with my pal at a local hotel. Today it’s the gym again to work off a few calories and a bit of shopping. The workmen here are doing a good job with the en-suite, hopefully the tiling will be finished today
Pleased OD is back now Ash enjoy your time together
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Fri 15-Dec-23 07:32:57

Morning all 😘

The men started laying our porcelain slabs in the garden yesterday, they look just as I imagined. I had my hair cut shorter than I have had for many many years ag my appointment yesterday 🙀

This morning I am off to The Imps Christmas pre-school party and carols. DH is going with our DiL to see our 4yr old GS’s pre-school Carol concert. The GS’s are excited.

After school yesterday we both went to see Father Christmas with DD, The Imp and his brother at a local Garden Centre (Alton’s) they got two presents each along with a baby Christmas tree to plant.

Off to the local Indian restaurant for dinner this evening (just us two)

Have a great day folks 🤶🏻🎄

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where we had rain overnight but where is seems quiet at the moment - if you ignore the recycling lorry doing it's rounds.

It's a bitty and bobby day here today - delivering local cards and maybe doing the decorations. I also need to check that we have the right number of baking trays, serving dishes etc. And the state of the tablecloths which have not seen the light of day since last Christmas. blush

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Fri 15-Dec-23 07:14:56

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it feels cold ❄️.
I should be working on a shop till this morning but after another poor night I just want to sleep!
Well done with your knitting Karmalady and with your Christmas preparations gMattie.
I don't usually wait in for parcels. My greenhouse is quite near my letter box so I sometimes find packages in there 😮 and the woodshed or on my back doorstep.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Mizuna Fri 15-Dec-23 07:11:25

Good morning from a dry, mild Cornwall. A bright orange light is reflecting on my ceiling from the Biffa truck emptying Domino's bins across the road. Conversely, at the back of my flat the trees are swaying and birds chirping; such contrasts which continue to fascinate me.

Today I'll be starting to paint a tiny, half-inch-square, painting for my arty daughter-in-law's dolls' house, by request. My other daughter-in-law, a hairdresser, will call in to trim my hair if she has a gap in her salon schedule.

What a lovely reunion that must have been in the bar Ash.

NanKate Fri 15-Dec-23 07:01:29

Good morning Mick and All from a promised sunny day in South Bucks.

Off to have my straggly hair cut this morning.

Trying to decide when to go and see Wonka which my DS says I will love.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 15-Dec-23 06:58:35

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed, I finally had my roots done yesterday. I’m not ready to hit the grey road quite yet!
Elder son is coming this evening and will stay over. He will be helping OH tomorrow with moving his bee hives to a new location. OH has a friend with an organic farm who said he can put them in a small copse on his land.
I’m still waiting for a few more parcels.
Have a good day everyone, especially those who are suffering.

karmalady Fri 15-Dec-23 06:49:20

Good morning from bland warmer weather in s somerset

Jumper is completely finished, it became a tedious job towards the end, so many cables and so much sewing up but it looks lovely and is destined for a dd. Waste not want not so I am now making a simble ribbed hat for her with the leftover yarn. I am surrounded by all sorts of needles and combinations, I had to dig deep into my stash to find a circular needle of the right size. I hope I don`t end up playing yarn chicken. I went to be late, typical of me, I wanted to get the knitting sorted

Hat knitting and finishing this morning, then a bit of nothing with reading, radio and dozing

have a good day

Greyduster Fri 15-Dec-23 06:34:21

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a still dark South Yorkshire. Yesterday’s foray into town with DD was lovely but we ended up like a couple of packhorses! We had a nice lunch in an Italian restaurant and spent far too long in the children’s section in Waterstones reminiscing about Mog and Hairy McClary from Donaldson’s dairy😊. I bought three books for my niece’s granddaughter. I came home to a long telephone conversation with my best friend who is not well, but cheerful-ish. She’s been in a lot of pain recently but her GP has finally got his act together and is doing something other than stuffing her full of punishing pain killers.
Volunteering at school this afternoon. I may walk there and back instead of taking the car.
Glad OD made it home safely, Ash.
Have the best day you can folks.

baubles Fri 15-Dec-23 06:32:45

Good morning from dark South Lanarkshire. It’s probably raining or about to rain.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day.

Childminding today so having coffee in bed before I gather my things and get organised for the day.

Wishing everyone a good day.

grandMattie Fri 15-Dec-23 06:24:14

My painter used to be a soldier, from a military family, Ash. He has lived all over the place, but Germany was his favourite. He’s much of an age with me…

Jaxjacky Fri 15-Dec-23 06:20:32

Morning from a dry S Hampshire, you sound nice and snug now gMattie.
Glad oldudders is back safely with you Ashcombe.
Yesterday I enjoyed lunch in Winchester with two friends at one of their houses, MrJ was a star, dropping me off and collecting me later. He then wrapped a multitude of presents, I was label monitor, I’ve just got his gifts to wrap today.
Some housework this morning after wrapping, Tesco delivery and grandchildren staying tonight.
I hope today is brighter for those struggling.

Morning Mick, morning All. Haven’t looked out but hoping the forecast dry day will appear.

The cough is back with a vengeance. Too much talking yesterday I suspect. We enjoyed our NT visit and a tasty lunch before a quiet afternoon. Early evening we met our granddaughters and their dad for a couple of hours. Not seen any of them for weeks, it was good to catch up with the teenagers news although we were left concerned at how unhappy one is. Volunteering this morning and perhaps an afternoon visit to our grandson and his parents, not certain about that yet.

Hope your delivery is prompt grandmattie, pleased your husband arrived safely ash. Good luck with the traffic today mick.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Ashcombe Fri 15-Dec-23 06:06:09

Good morning from a calm and mild Torbay.

Your painter sounds continental, grandMattie.

DH had a good journey and arrived just after I’d left for the theatre. We enjoyed a reunion in the theatre bar after the performance which had gone well with another large, but less responsive, audience in terms of laughter and applause.

I hope you enjoy whatever the day brings and belated happy birthday to * baubles*.

Good morning, it’s dry here too on the edge of the Cotswolds.
A tidying day yesterday, laundry done and dried, beef stew for dinner and a quiet evening. DH took the dog for a long walk so I could get everything done before they returned.
I have signed up for some online drawing classes so I’m going to start one today after I’ve written a couple of Christmas cards.
Next week’s looking fun, I’ve been invited out to tea on three afternoons, how lovely is that!
Hope today goes well for you all 🌹

grandMattie Fri 15-Dec-23 05:50:01

Good morning from a dry Bristol.
My painter has finished for the moment, only two more rooms to do after the festivities. He kissed me on both cheeks when leaving, to my amusement. He’s done a great job.
My roller blinds and net curtains are now up. What a difference they make to the appearance, and function.
I finally mailed my Christmas letter and a very few cards, and also to the “inmates”. Several of them, who I rarely see or speak to, have already dropped cards to me.
I remembered at about 3pm that I had a Taichi class in the morning. My grasp of days has rather gone to pot, at the moment.
Today, I’ve got a delivery “between 8 and 5”, so am rather imprisoned. I hope it’s not this afternoon as I need to collect a prescription and go to the library.
Hope all is going as well as possible for you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
