Radio Times Subscription

I 'pay' for my Radio Times with my Tesco loyalty points. Prices currently showing as 6 months subscription for £69.00 for which I need £35.40 value of points. If short of points you can pay the extra.
Royal Mail do sometimes deliver late but as yggdrasil says if you phone the subscription people they extend the time or arrange a refund for the missing copy.
I used to get Gardeners World as well until Tesco changed the value of their points.

I only buy the Total Tv and this has more in it than most and has been the most reasonable.

Several times in the last couple of months my Radio Times has not been delivered by the Royal Mail. RT Subscriptions have been very helpful. Each time I have to buy one, they extend my subscription by one week. Right now I have no idea when it is due to end :-)

I confess I didn’t know what it now costs. I get it anyway. Have to have the Radio Times! I need the radio programmes (especially Radio 3), and cast lists for favourite TV programmes.

We have the Radio Times delivered weekly. DH has always, for more years than I care to remember, paid and renewed annually. I must admit to not realising how expensive it has become, but I do enjoy reading through the articles. He probably wouldn't haggle, or even think about it, but I would!
GrannyNannyWanny I record programmes, films etc, on our Humax box, but the last film we watched, stopped 5/10 minutes before the end. So frustrating and, I couldn't find it on catch up. Something had over-run, and our box didn't adjust.

I only buy the RT once a year at Christmas, go through it with a highlighter to see what to watch or record - and then usually forget to do half of it!
There’s always some good stuff lurking, though.

I’ve still got a brilliant film about Rudolf Nureyev and his defection, from Christmas some years ago. The actor/dancer who played him was extraordinarily like him. It was called Dance to Freedom I think, might be available somewhere if anybody’s interested.

I didn’t realise they were so expensive these days. But having said that I haven’t bought one in 30 odd years. I only used to buy the edition that covered the 2 week Christmas season and my children would excitedly flick through it and make a list of films to record and watch.

Setting the VHS recorder didn’t always go to plan. It didn’t make allowances for schedule changes or delays and sometimes resulted in disappointment.

I love my recordable tv box now. I can search and plan recordings and if the programme schedule changes it recognises and adjusts accordingly.

I didn’t realise that the Radio Times still existed, but I have been transported back in time over 50 years to happy Christmases Past by your thread.
My brother and I pouring over the copy, along with the TV times to put huge biro rings around the upcoming programmes of the holiday season was an absolute highlight, along with the tin of Quality Street.
I’m almost tempted to buy them, even at that extortionate price, just for old times sake!

If it makes you happy I would continue to have it, maybe next test cancel and then reapply, , it is annoying how as a loyal customer you have to haggle over almost everything now. The AA renewal I dread but been with them since I passed my test over 50 years ago.

If you enjoy having the hard copy of The Radio Times go ahead and indulge yourself.

I indulge myself by buying retro pendants, necklaces from Charity shops. I must have in excess of 100 !

Considering the schedules are two weeks out of date by the time the Radio Times is published,how many programmes are shown as "to be advised"
All the TV channels state what is to be shown,why buy a paper version any way,which does not help OUR planet.
Be interesting to see how many copies will still be on sale at our various outlets next Saturday 23rd December.

Goodness, gone are the days when we used to have both the Radio and TV Times.

I now have nothing, but might splash out on a cheap Christmas/New Year TV guide.

Oh, happy days when this time of year brought forth a feast of new films, programmes, stuff actually worth watching.

since it costs £4.50 apparently,and you get postage it sounds like a good deal for 26 copies.. I look online but is nice having a hard copy which is why I sometimes buy the Sunday Times for the culture section

I like to have the Radio Times so I can see what is on, especially classical music on the radio. I enjoy the puzzles and articles too, but it is expensive. I will try to haggle next time my renewal comes up.

Gosh, what a price! I wouldn't pay that much. I know it's a better deal than buying it weekly, but still expensive. I use the TV guide displayed on the television.

Why don’t you cancel and phone in a few days time as a new subscriber?
