I am also on it. What I am annoyed about is that with being elderly (81) I set up a password with my energy companies for when they decided to check the meters, I do not have or want a smart meter. One man came the other day and asked to check my meter so I asked him for the password and he did not know it so he didn't get in.
I reported the problem to my energy company and was told that some people come from different companies to check your meters and will not know the password which is absolutely ridiculous. I was told to check the Lanyard around their neck as all the information is there.
Do they honestly think that an elderly woman is going to get close enough to read a Lanyard around a man's neck, I could be murdered before I even read it. Also, I once joined a group and made the lanyards together with all the details of the persons name and the name of the group and then printed and laminated them, so how would someone know if the lanyard worn by the meter reader is legitimate.
They tell the elderly to be careful and not open the door to anyone they do not know but our energy companies tell us to read the lanyard if the person does not know my password.
It does my head in, it really does.
