The Boomers Have Had It Too Good?
Young people ‘expected’ to engage with government's new work support plans.
Thanks for the update on Marydoll GM
Get well soon Mary 💐
farview💐
Thankyou for news of Marydoll grandMattie.
Hope you are feeling better soon Mary🤞🏻💐
Good morning from a dry and mild down South.
The nativity sounds wonderful grandMattie.
I have people coming earlier than expected this week, so whereas I thought I was quite well prepared, suddenly I need to get on with things.
Good morning from Shropshire.Rain forecast all day.
The pantomime was excellent yesterday.DGD performed her two dances really well. She was still full of energy when we dropped her home after the second performance.
This morning I have a hospital appointment. It is over the border in North Wales.DH will drive and drop me off as parking is horrendous.Afterwards we will have lunch out then go to one of the much bigger supermarkets in the area.
I hope we hear from Mary today.Thoughts with all others who are also unwell.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩🎅🏼🎄
Good morning from a mild and calm Torbay with windy conditions expected soon.
Yesterday, I played the piano in church again but that will be the last time for a while. All the musicians are away for Christmas, including me, so I’m not sure how they'll manage. Today we set off for Portsmouth, sailing to Ouistreham tomorrow morning.
I think you deserve your time off from childcare commitments, Grandmabatty. Enjoy the chance to lie in!
Your situation sounds very difficult, farview. It sounds like your dog brings comfort to you.
A priceless nativity, grandMattie!
The photo shows the Christmas lights at my nearby shops.
A good week to all and better health to those in need. 🦩🧑🏻🎄🎄🎅🏼🦩
Thanks gMattie for news of MD.
Sending her get well thoughts.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I had a bad night again with aching legs. Not from exercise but probably arthritis ☹️
Christmas lunch with my walking group today. I must find something festive to wear.
Still a few cards to post as it's the last day for 2nd class stamps. The news in the cards which have arrived is never good these days!
Last night's carol concert was very moving. Some words had been changed to reflect the current situation in Bethlehem and the Holy Land.
I hope you throw off your cold Monk
You certainly deserve a rest grandmabatty
You sound well prepared for the holidays Mick and Karmalady your DGC are so lucky!
I also hope to hear from Marydoll
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark here in South Yorkshire but mild, and dry so far. DS and DiL came yesterday having called at our local IKEA on the way. DS said it’s so big he thought they’d never get out of there. We had a nice roast dinner and a bottle of wine and put the world to rights before they left at five to go back to York. Today I have to go to our local shopping mall to pick up a parcel from Next and a few bits and pieces, and then I’ll try and get a walk in if it’s dry.
Have a good day, folks.
Oh. I contactedMd who is unwell but doesn’t want to grump online.
Good morning all from a dampish North Leicestershire- if the cat's coat is any indication.
Lots of bitting and bobbing today - life seems full of bitting and bobbing at the moment.
I need to pick up a new medication, we need to buy a new Christmas tree topper of some sort as our old one is too heavy and we need to take one of the cats to the vet.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Fabulous nativity grandmattie, as you say the best ever.
The baby was unceremoniously….
Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, dark corner of Somerset.
Just looked at our forecast for the week, not a glimmer of sun to be seen. Oh dear. A finishing off day yesterday, bits of this and that. Our goddaughter phoned for a quick chat which lasted for two hours, her Mum is unwell and the search for a new Home is overwhelming. Mr C kept the tea coming.
Thinking Mr C, he has cardiac rehab this morning, I’m heading for town for a while. Nothing I have to do this afternoon. Will see if a neighbour is home and would like a cuppa.
You truly are super-gran grandmab. So sorry farview, a stressful situation. Look after yourself too. I’m also wondering about marydoll, thinking of her and all who are managing ill health.
Hope Monday is kind to us all.
Good morning from Bristol. I’m late after a dreadful night and need to go out early, so haven’t read any post yet. Sorry.
I felt I absolutely had to tell you about the best ever nativity in church yesterday. Mary, all of 3, was carrying her pregnancy under her dress for most of the service. She did her bit- the annunciation, the journey to Bethlehem, etc.. when the time came to “give birth”, she refused point blank, she was not going to give it up! We were in stitches. Eventually, she was persuaded, she lifted her dress up and the baby came tumbling out. We all clapped, she beamed. The baby PA’s unceremoniously plonked into the manger and she spent the rest of the play cuddling sheep. It was priceless 🤣
I served mulled wine and mince pies to the congregation in the evening’s 9 lessons and carols. The church was almost full - very gratifying.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from south Gloucestershire, hopefully a dry one.
DH and I started watching Downton Abbey from the beginning yesterday, we’ve seen bits of it in chunks at various times but never really followed it. A bit late but who cares!
Today a door wreath is being delivered along with my birthday cake that I have treated myself too as no one else will! I haven’t had one for nearly 50 years so it’s about time 😁 My birthday is later this week and we have a wonderful local cake maker so I’m treating myself.
This week I’m out to tea on two days so looking forward to seeing some friends.
Take care everyone 🌹
Good morning all from a dark dry Black country.
Early start today the car going in to sort the problem with the indicator, what used to be 10mins to the dealership is now 3/4 of an hours drive and the other side of the city.
Have woke up with DH cold and I find I've no echinacea something I've always taken and it usually helps clear it quicker.
Will read through later hope everyone has the best day they can, and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from a dull s somerset, dull all day again, not inspiring weather at all and same as yesterday
Yesterday was a good day, I had energy from dawn to dusk and bit by bit got a lot done, including a complete top, I was very satisfied with that and dgd is going to be delighted. I had 4 different colours left as the fabric was very wide, waste not want not, so have cut out a colour-blocked sweatshirt for me to sew today. The colours of the four tops that I have made for AC and DGC
I even changed bedding and bottomed my bedroom and don`t have to do that today, which is nice. I got plenty of passive exercise as I was on my feet a lot, up and down stairs a lot and walking around a lot
Food will be easy today as I made more scotch broth yesterday, I love that tasty soup. More knitting later and I hope to do some reading or maybe I will be swept along with sewing, which really is the last sewing until after christmas
Have a good day
Morning Mick and all.
Been up ages...H with Alzheimer's/dementia now has tinnitus and he thinks the cause is me putting pills in his food 🤦♀️which I'm not...so much stress...
Anyway it isnt cold today so a long walk with my darling spaniel..
Hope Marydoll posts today...keep well all of you
..✨
Good morning Mick and all who follow. 12° here in Polmont and damp.
Yesterday I bought the last of the Christmas presents and visited mum who was a bit confused. Then I wrapped half of the Christmas presents before settling down for the evening.
Today is very early childcare day. The last two such for the year. Yippee! Much as I love the boys, I'm looking forward to longer lies. Today dd wants me to post cards for her so dgs2 and I will toddle to the post office. I want to pick up a copy of the Radio Times which I've been unable to find so far. I only buy it at Christmas. Gammon for dinner. Have a good day all
