Can I ask which Shark model you ladies have? My old Dyson that I use upstairs has finally given up the ghost, and I’m undecided as to whether to get another Dyson (which I do like, but feel they’re very expensive) or try the Shark.

The worst vacuum cleaner I have ever had (married 63 years) was a Dyson. Changing the bag was a pain and then a spark flew out of it which really worried me. The local electrical shop always sold them but gave them up as they had too much trouble from them. I bought a Sebo (not cordless) but the best cleaner I have ever had. I have two now. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. The shop mentioned only deals with Sebo andMiele. Agree with Grandmabatty as Dyson took his knighthood and then his money abroad.

I’ve had Dysons in the past, but am very happy with my Shark cordless, which came with a spare battery and easily converts to a hand held cleaner - it copes well with the dog hair!

My husband replaced our old Dyson with a shark detect pro. It has ample battery life to do the entire house and has a nifty emptying system. Easy to turn it into a handheld cleaner, the crevice tool has a port on the base unit so it's never lost.

Dysons can be very heavy

I also prefer Dyson it’s old but still works perfectly.

James Dyson contributed a vast sum of money towards our now up and running Cancer Unit, invaluable to DH's treatment, so my fairly elderly Dyson will certainlybe replaced by another one when the time comes.

I wouldn't give James Dyson the money. He's a moral vacuum

I replaced my old Dyson V8 animal cordless with the new version. I looked at Shark, which is the obvious alternative but decided to stay Dyson.
Long battery, I can do my 4 bed 2 sitting rooms, large kitchen/diner easily. It does carpets and wooden/laminate floors.
I have 2 dogs, one a yellow lab so there’s a lot of golden labrador dust to hoover up

I have a Shark (large house carpets, wooden floors and Amtico) very pleased with it long battery life and came with a spare battery.

Well I’ve recently purchased a cordless Miele - extremely powerful. I can certainly recommend it.

So confused, its for carpets and stairs, not hard floors, so cordless ,lightweight , powerful, breaks down to handheld,
