Good morning all, it's -3°C in Glasgow. We had snow and hail yesterday.

I have been awake half the night and woke with a blinding headache.
I may do wardrobe cull later, too cold for my chest to be out.

I am sorry to hear your sad news GM and keeping Baggs and her family in my prayers.

Enjoy your day folks.

luluaugust Mon 15-Jan-24 07:59:31

Good morning it’s -1 deg here in W Kent
Getting ready for the cleaner arriving this morning, I can now walk again which helps. DH reluctant to go out in the cold so I think another day indoors.
So sorry to read your news gM and thinking of Baggs
Best wishes to all

Pittcity Mon 15-Jan-24 07:57:33

Good morning from a bright but below freezing Colchester. A cold, sunny day forecast. My favourite type of weather.
I'll wrap up and take a walk at some point.
A pile of laundry to tackle. I don't know where it all comes from. There have only been 2 of us here for a week.

Sending hugs to Baggs and GM.

Love to all 🦩 x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I’m thinking of GM and Baggs.🌹
Usual Monday shop plus another trip to the Charity shop.
There’s no frost this morning so I won’t need to scrape ice off my car.
I’d better get up!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 15-Jan-24 07:49:42

Morning all it’s -2 here in S E Essex, rather chilly.

I am off to the gym first thing will probably have a tea and chat after with friends.

Sad news grandMattie thinking of Baggs BTDD and family.

Keep warm folks 🙋‍♀️👋

Pantglas2 Mon 15-Jan-24 07:38:08

Morning all from a much colder north Wales coast and the boiler is having to be reset each morning…🤦‍♀️

Sad news for grandMattie and Baggs - 💐💐 and for all having trying times with illness at the moment x

That picture is a delight Mizuna, I have @ little fat robin who visits occasionally but haven’t managed a photo shoot with him yet!

Some sewing needs doing at PG Towers (yes the same lot that didn’t get done the last time I mentioned it…🤬) but I have a treat later as a reward! Cava 🥂 and scoff 😋 at a leaving do for my niece who is off to Dubai to work!

A better day for all ❤️

Good morning all.

Went out walking round Avebury yesterday. I was horrified to realise from looking at my app that until last Wednesday, we hadn’t had a proper walk since November 25th as it had poured with rain constantly until the start of last week. We saw the river flooding very much in evidence with water all over the surrounding fields still. I wore my new padded coat and even though it was very cold I heated up quite considerably.

2 days of childcare are on the cards.

Thinking of Baggs following her very sad news. And also GM regarding her sister.

Have a good day all.

Grammaretto Mon 15-Jan-24 07:34:48

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark. It's cold but the snow is expected tomorrow.
I had a rather quiet lazy Sunday apart from a good walk in the morning and the film Oppenheimer in the evening. It was powerful and compelling. Our town hall community cinema was packed.

Kalu it is hard throwing out good food. It's taken me years to learn a portion of pasta for one. Glad that your BP is lower and I hope DH is not too poorly.

Baggs and gMattie thinking of your sorrow.
Have the best day you can everyone.

cornergran Mon 15-Jan-24 07:32:45

Morning Mick, morning All from a very chilly corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed being outside in the garden for an hour yesterday, thankfully not a windy day. A fun couple of hours with our granddaughters and their dad, every bit of food disappeared. You’d think I’d sleep well after that, not a bit of it, thank goodness for books on my iPad.

Mr C has cardiac rehab this morning and I’ve a bits and pieces shopping list. If it stays fine we’ll do a tip run this afternoon before a call from our goddaughter to update us on her search for a new Home for her mum. She’s very anxious, scared of making the wrong decision.

I’m sorry you had worrying news about your sister grsndmattie. Safe travels brook, warm sunshine sounds wonderful. Good news about your BP kalu.

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

kittylester Mon 15-Jan-24 07:25:16

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire.

I have ironing to do today and a singing lesson. I am hoping to hear from my friend who is still suffering bouts of delirium in hospital.

Have the best day possible all.

NannyJan53 Mon 15-Jan-24 07:24:01

Good morning from a cold Black Country, where there is a light dusting of snow!

Monday walk this morning, unless it is still snowing. Then this afternoon going with my friend to try a Line Dancing group. It is being held about 10 minutes walk from here.

So sorry to hear about your sister gM flowers

Wishing you all the best and warmest day possible

Bellasnana Mon 15-Jan-24 07:18:31

Good morning from Malta where it is chilly at the moment but warming up later.

I’ve been at DD3’s for the last hour, have given the boys their breakfast, washed, changed and dressed them. I miss them at the weekends so am very happy to be beginning a new week with them.

So sad to hear about your sister,*grandMattie*. Both my sisters succumbed to breast cancer, such a cruel disease. My heart goes out to you.❤️

This afternoon I need to go and buy paint for my bedroom which will see me dithering about what colour to choose. The more choice I have, the more I prevaricate.

Also need to pay my car tax and insurance so it’s an expensive month.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

brook2704 Mon 15-Jan-24 07:16:56

Good morning everyone from a cold Inverness, it’s about -2º with yesterdays snow still lying around
So sorry to hear about your sister gMattie so sad
What a gorgeous picture mizuna, he’s been a bit cheeky though!
Yesterday DGS stayed over so we’ve got the school run first thing then back home to finish packing. We’re off down the road to Edinburgh later for an overnight stop before flying out to Tenerife tomorrow. I’m looking forward to feeling a bit warmer and seeing some sunshine. The weather forecast isn’t good for travelling though so I’m expecting disruption and delays.
Kalu well done to your DGD and good news about your BP too. Hope the ham broth hits the spot today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gente and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ashcombe Mon 15-Jan-24 07:04:16

Good morning from a chilly Torbay.

That is sad news from afar, grandMattie. Thinking of Baggs and family, too.

Yesterday we attended an inspirational performance of The Nutcracker in Torquay given by the Mergaliyev Company, complete with live orchestra. The best version of this ballet we've seen. Rows A-E had been removed so we had a wonderful view from our seats in Row F!

Keep well and warm! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning everyone from a dry and cold Northampton, -2°C out, and a sunny 🌞 day forecast.
Had a really lazy day yesterday, late brunch, washed up, tidied kitchen and utility room, disposed of more spoiled food from my freezer, then sat down to read the papers and watch tv. Found myself watching several episodes of Downton Abbey back to back. Still very watchable.

Yoga this morning at 9.30, then home for coffee. Will change my bed today, time to put the Christmas bedding away I think!
Then an afternoon of reading Demon Copperhead.
Will also pay the balance for my April cruise.
Chicken with pineapple and ginger for dinner tonight and cook some rice to go with it.

Sorry to hear the sad news about your sister, grandMattie.
Thinking of Baggs and family too.
.
Wrap up warm today!

Mizuna Mon 15-Jan-24 06:53:57

Good morning from Cornwall where it's calm and cold and quiet at the moment.

I spent most of yesterday outside, on my patio and in my wood. The splendid little chap in the photo was my constant companion. He has also been venturing inside my flat when my back is turned, leaving tiny calling cards on the window sill and my bookcase shelves. Cheeky or what!

Today my friend is coming to help me move the remains of my old sofa and to test my new one, which I've re-stuffed, for comfort. Between gardening jobs I made a bunch of origami lilies yesterday, which I know she'll love, so I'll send her home with those.

So sorry to hear your news gM.

harrigran Mon 15-Jan-24 06:45:59

Good morning from a frosty NE where it is -2.
SIL came yesterday and helped me with some admin on the computer and got some cleaning materials from my store cupboard that I could not reach. We then cooked dinner together, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with a glass of Fleurie.
He had a cold and was not 100%, he also suffers from asthma so he didn't stay too long after dinner.
Quiet day for me, I will be watching Call the midwife and Vera while doing crosswords.
Sad news grandMattie.
Thoughts are with all poorly people.

Kalu Mon 15-Jan-24 06:38:37

So sorry to hear such sad news about your sister GM💐

Kalu Mon 15-Jan-24 06:35:47

Good morning from Glasgow. We have -3deg, dry and sunshine is forecast for today.

Another BP check today but a telephone consultation will suffice for me to relay my readings which are thankfully lower.
Some food shopping today between M&S and Waitrose in a search to find whatever I think will whet DH’s appetite. Cooking a meal is bit of a hit and miss if DH isn’t hungry and I end up eating double portions rather than waste food, my shopping list now contains anything I can cook from frozen before I end up twice my size! I will make a pot of ham broth today which is always a winner.

We had an unexpected visit from DD1 and GD2 after her riding lesson at our local stables. She is jumping now and appears to be as fearless as her mother was and loving it. I will wait for some better weather before I stand at the outdoor school to watch her. 🥶

You are in my thoughts Baggs

Hopefully a good day is ahead for all and an easier one for those having difficult times whatever they may be.

RosesandLilac Mon 15-Jan-24 06:26:51

Good morning from south Glos, a dry start to the week so might go further afield for a dog walk today.
Sorry to hear that about your sister grandMattie 🤗
Yesterday I pootled around doing bits and pieces, made a cottage pie for dinner and carried on with a pair of socks I’m knitting. It’s using two colours and I keep getting tangled up so not going too well at the moment 🙄, I have unpicked the first sock more than once!
Hoping for lots of sunshine this week 🙏

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Jan-24 06:14:44

GrandMattie I'm sorry to hear that about your sister. 💐

karmalady Mon 15-Jan-24 06:10:38

Good morning, I am expecting a lovely sunny cold day today in s somerset

I put my smart meter monitor away yesterday, now there are sentences alternating between, `daily total` and `weekly budget exceeded` I never gave that monitor a budget and it is a step too far, I won`t be dictated too by an AI bot on a screen in my home

Today I will do my finances, clarify and transfer info into a smaller notebook. I do this roughly once a year. I do miss m/s money, it was such a good easy programme and kept me on the straight and narrow for many years.

Bed-changing today and some knitting to finish my jumper

Have a good day

grandMattie Mon 15-Jan-24 06:02:53

Good morning from a dry Bristol, chilly but not frosty.
I have just had a mail from younger sister to say that our elder sister, visiting her in Oz, is dying of breast cancer. No more medication only palliative care. Very sad.
At the vicar’s request, I took some marmalade to sell in the church yesterday. It went in a flash, people being most intrigued by my orange and cranberry marmalade. The proceeds go to the church funds.
Nothing much today - a final IKEA delivery, so have to wait in, meaning I may/not go to WI this p.m.
Hugs and prayers to Baggs and family.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Jan-24 05:56:18

Good morning Mick and all from Polmont where it's currently -2° and dry.
Yesterday I had to climb in the passenger side as the driver's door was frozen shut. It wasn't elegant. I made it to Aldi and back then finished the housework. In the afternoon I visited mum who was still quite confused.
Today is early start childcare so I'll have to go and clear the car from ice shortly. Brr. Have a good day all

Michael12 Mon 15-Jan-24 05:49:34

Good Morning Everyone,
Dark, dry and cold at the moment here in brackley .
I will hopefully get the bus to Bicester for a couple of hours ,and hope the weather does not change later'
The week personally will depend on the weather as to further movements away from home.
