I’ve woken with a cold so I will give yoga a miss but have arranged to take one of our DGDs to the cinema after school so I’ll dose up with Lemsip and wear a mask. She would be very disappointed if I were to cancel, she’s a bit of a worry wart and needs a bit of a distraction.

I’m off to run the parent group this morning. We have a lady coming to do some crafts. I’m not sure how many will come as it’s very cold.
While I’m out I need to get a birthday card for DGS.
After that it’s back to puzzles, reading and knitting.

Yesterday was a difficult day with dgs2. He was not cooperative all day, refused to eat and only wanted cake, screamed a lot and had three epic tantrums. I was very glad to hand him back! Mum's social worker phoned to chivvy me about taking on guardianship for mum which put the top on a pretty horrible day.
Today I'm taking dgs1 to nursery because his grandad has a hospital appointment. Hopefully I can get into the car! This afternoon I'll visit mum. Apart from that, I'll potter about. Have a good day all

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry and cold, no complaints as the horrid wind snd rain are due back at the weekend.

Yesterdays chores were enlivened by a call from a friend, we spent an hour putting the world to rights, very satisfactory. Our neighbours are coming for coffee this morning, there will be laughter and of course more world sorting. This afternoon it’s a cortisone injection in a knee for me and with luck a stop for a cuppa on the way home

Good morning all - it seemed particularly dark when I woke up at 7 - surely the mornings will start to get light earlier soon?
As BlueSapphire has said we had an enjoyable time getting to know each other better (and putting the world to rights) yesterday in JL. I don’t go to CMK anything like as much as often as I did pre pandemic but it struck me how for a “young” city, all the shoppers in n the Centre were very much of the silver surfer age group.
Ever the last of the Domestic Goddesses I had an enjoyable browse around Lakeland and got three more of these which are invaluable for all my little jars of herbs and spices. They fit perfectly across the (wall) spice cupboard and are so easy to slide out and in again. Tidying job done ✔️

Good morning from another freezing morning in Colchester. A couple of degrees and overcast is today's forecast. No snow and very little frost. Dry though, which is a good thing.
Short walk into the City for the Wednesday morning coffee meetup.
I'll pick up a few bits in Sainsbury's on the way home and then just stay warm indoors.

Yesterday we drove to one of our favourite beaches for a walk and then had lunch out.

Todays plans are not as enjoyable.DH will venture into the garage and shed to see what needs sorting.His nephew came over yesterday evening and we were chatting about how much there is to sort out.He told us the loft, shed and garage are full as well as the house😫We don’t think DH’s parents have ever thrown anything out.I don’t mean general rubbish but if something was no longer needed/broken it looks like it was just put in a cupboard.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire, it is still dark but I don’t think there’s a frost.
OH and I are off to an Italian restaurant at lunchtime with the U3A. We’ve been before and it’s excellent.
Tonight is WI. The speaker will talk about the Morris Minor in the media.
At some point I must sort out bus and train times for my trip to London tomorrow.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It is minus two in South Yorkshire this morning and there is a hard frost. No snow forecast though🤞🏻. Yesterday I walked to school and back and then had a chat with GS as he’d had an exam in the morning. He seems to think it went well though he was tight for time at the end. I then had a long phone call with an old friend in York. We never run out of things to talk - and laugh - about. She’s a joy.
This afternoon it’s poetry day at the library, and I’ll do a bit of shopping while I’m there. If the weather holds!

Good morning from a dark Oxfordshire, I haven’t looked at the weather yet but I know there is no snow, we had a lovely sunny day yesterday but still bitterly cold.
My outdoor thermometer fell off the window a few days ago so no idea of the temp. I had a thermometer stuck on the window for over 15 years before it stopped working, since then I’ve had 3, none have lasted for more than 18 months, even though they were all more expensive.
Anyway, dog day today, but MrOops will do the walks until my cold goes away, I will potter.
I hope everyone has a good day with some sunshine.
Thoughts are with those who aren’t feeling so good today.

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Northampton, -1°C outside, and expected to remain chilly all day.

A lovely day yesterday in Milton Keynes, meeting Maw and having brunch and coffee in John Lewis. We talked non-stop; only the need for me to shop, and Maw to get back to Rosie dog made us call an end to proceedings. Looking forward to our next meet-up in February.

Browsed around for ages trying to find a present for DD; in the end I got her a jumper in M&S (with a gift receipt, so she can change it if it's the wrong size or colour). Also got one for myself, which only cost me £2.50, as I had £20 in vouchers to spend!
Got an earlier bus home than usual, and was indoors by 4.45.

Out tonight for our wine club annual dinner, at the same pub/restaurant as last year. DD is coming over and a return taxi is booked for 4 of us. Think I will have a quiet afternoon at home reading beforehand.

Time to make a cup of tea and a bit more browsing on my tablet. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone we arrived safely in Tenerife yesterday, the journey was good despite me worrying about the snowy weather and being stranded at the airport
We’re in an apartment in the north of the island, it’s a place we’ve not visited before, so there’s lots of exploring to do. DHs first job will be to go and find a local bakery for some breakfast items whilst I get the coffee on

Good morning from a damp Sefton. It has rained overnight. There are puddles.
A non day yesterday spent mainly nursing the after effects of a migraine. Took advantage of a local restaurant's 1/2 price mains offer for tea.
A busy day today. Zoom exercise class, then Pilates in a nearby town. A quick lunch then off to our usual Wednesday afternoon with younger granddaughter whilst mum works from home & Dad has a day in the office. We will stay for our tea. My 3rd no cooking day this week.😃

Good morning from Glasgow. Still dark outside but from what I can see we have frost and icy conditions.

No sign of road gritters! Our local council are earning money for old rope. I phoned them yesterday as I have a few, too heavy for me to shift, items to go to the recycling centre to enquire if they have a collection service for the elderly with no one to help, I pay enough council tax and don’t expect to ask others for help, the reply was a firm no, any uplift will cost £53! A clear message of let the elderly get on with it themselves including hauling heavy bins out to the pavement. Where has care in the community gone? 😡

Scripts to collect and a bit of admin today.

DH noticed I had, as he put it, gone into a daze for a few minutes a few years ago. That was my experience of a TIA completely out of the blue. Good luck for your appointment today.

Good morning from Malta where we expect a high of 19°C and getting warmer until Sunday when it will drop to 12°C.

I’m with my two treasures, they are full of Weetabix and banana, both happy and contented.

I’ve left a mess at home as I’m trying to clear my bedroom of clutter before the decorator comes next week. I’ve put a few items on a recycle site and have got rid of two chairs so far. Glad they found a good home.

I managed to watch the entire Alcaraz v Gasquet match yesterday as the boys took a two hour nap just at the right time which was very obliging of them.😄

Good morning from a frosty south Glos, thankfully no snow here.
Off to the hairdressers this morning, it’ll be nice to have a good natter with my lovely friend whilst getting my hair cut.
Yesterday the office chair that I use for my craft room broke; DH had been fiddling with it because it was wonky. His efforts completely changed the backrest position so it was forcing me forward, very uncomfortable. Anyway, a new one is en route 👏
We had a load of logs delivered yesterday evening so we have plenty for the next couple of months, I love my wood burner, it heats the downstairs so well.

Our cleaners are due at 9 and DH will disappear to the gym out of the way. At lunch time, a couple of us are going to look at an alternative venue for our Memory Cafe. I have my doubts.

Good morning from a cold, drizzly Cornwall. Will have my first coffee inside instead of on my patio swing seat. Dyed some clothes and pieces of lace a dark teal yesterday in my washing machine, a perfect finish with no blotches. Off to the library craft group in another town this morning, where we'll be playing with air-dry clay. I'll make a little plaque for my front door.

Heard from my surgeon's secretary via email that my new knee will happen in June, followed by the ceremonial abandoning of my crutches, yippee. 😂

DH, oldddudders, is safely back at his home in France, having been chauffeured by me to Newton Abbot just after 7.00a.m. yesterday. It seems very quiet here without him!

Today I have to be out early to catch a bus to Torbay Hospital, where limited parking means it impossible to go by car. I have a follow up appointment with a consultant at the Eye Clinic regarding my field of vision. Last time, they thought I’d suffered a TIA, which was a shock as I had no recollection of such an event!

Good morning, cold dry and bland sky in s somerset today

A very satisfying day yesterday and my passwords are now clarified and transferred to my new A5 book. I now know exactly what the vod and plusnet contracts are and when they need to be renewed

No cleaning yesterday, just hand washing in my washing machine. I am still awe-inspired by my machine, which does a lovely careful job on my woollen hand knits. They end up better than new. I will do a bit of de-bobbling later, bobbling always happens when wearing wool

Today I am going through my information file to add paperwork and take some out and that will be the last of the loose-ends, sorted.

Definitely a bit of knitting later and I should have my jumper sewn up by this evening

Good morning from a cold, dry Bristol. No snow is forecast though rain and warmer temperatures are later this month.
Yesterday was weird. The chap came to build my stuff, but didn’t do it as he’d been given the wrong information. He’s coming at 8 instead to do it in the now-extended hallway..
It’ll be interesting as the painter is coming at 9ish to paint the living and spare rooms. This leaves me my bedroom to inhabit.
DD and GS1 came and helped me more or less empty the spare room, putting the as-yet unpacked boxes in the communal hall. What a mess. You’d think I was moving again.
In the afternoon, after a “levelling up” survey on Monday, I had their surveyor come round to look at the flat - I don’t know why but I said “yes” to that. It took two hours.
Today, a maelstrom of happenings…
