Fairy liquid in a bowl of hot water, good soak, followed by the dishwasher, remains to the dog. As advised by a GC who hates mushrooms. grin

Wouldn't work for us. Our dog won't eat mushrooms..

I just wipe them with a bit of kitchen towel. When I was a catering college our lecturers said never wash or peel a mushroom as it destroyed the flavour..

I peel the field mushrooms I pick myself, not the cultivated shop bought ones.

Never have. I give them a wipe with paper towel.

Esmay Thu 18-Jan-24 18:02:35

No need to wash nor peel as they are grown in sterile conditions for supermarkets - just wipe .
I eat them raw and never have had a reaction .

nadateturbe Thu 18-Jan-24 17:52:45

Auntieflo Thu 18-Jan-24 16:22:05

Maybe someone has got time left from Stuffing the Mushrooms?

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 18-Jan-24 16:07:40

Yes, if they look tired. Otherwise, no.

Wasn’t there a thread on this recently?

Grandmabatty Thu 18-Jan-24 16:03:27

I never peel them. I'll give them a wipe with kitchen roll

Not I, unless they are looking a bit tired!

Yes, only if they look tired.
It takes no time at all anyway.
