Good morning all from a windy and wet east coast of Fife here’s what I made yesterday

Good morning all from N Bucks where the sky is turning pinker by the minute. Still signs of frost on the grass but as everybody is finding, it’s less cold.
I had a very enjoyable 3 hour lunch in London yesterday with my friend from all those years ago. I can only think we lost touch because of her DH who is a fairly taciturn type meant that we gave up meeting as couples. Don’t know.
The third friend cancelled because she is exhausted after spending time with her family in Manchester where her brother died recently. Manchester grans will know who I mean - Tony Lloyd - one of the “good guys” I understand, whatever your political persuasion.
I came home to a lovely surprise on my doorstep from John Lewis (well actually from D1 to keep her “old mum” warm) - a Dreamland heated throw! With that around me I may never leave my sofa again.
I hope you are all keeping safe, keeping warm, and that a peaceful weekend brings relief and respite to all in pain or distress.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a slightly warmer South Yorkshire where the sun is just showing red in the sky. Yesterday I sorted out a heap of paperwork that I had shoved into a dark corner and ignored! It is now all in my filing cabinet. Later in the year when the garage is warmer, I shall sort out the filing cabinet! I treated myself to some fish and chips last night and they would have been warmer had I not had to faff around trying to shut off a warning light in my car when I got home. Something to do with the lights, so that will be a task for this morning before food shopping. Rest of the day will be this and that.

Today usual full English but I won't be cooking it we are meeting DS and the boys for breakfast at their local, DiL having to go into work for some training .

Good morning from Cornwall where it's cloudy and windy and it's obvious that a weather change is on the way.

My dentist says the tooth root must be removed in hospital. Fine by me, and hopefully it will take place before my knee op. Today, unless my granddaughter decides to come and chill at mine, I'll finish sewing a seemingly endless border to a very large patchwork denim throw for my day bed. I love the rhythm of hand-sewing.

Morning, frost on the cars but +1, tomorrow it’s all change. I realised yesterday I’d messed up my grocery delivery, so it’s now coming tomorrow, freezer diving for dinners.
We might see my son and partner today, they only live five miles away, but are always busy.

I too hope Baggs daughter is safely home with her family.

Good morning all from a very wet and windy Glasgow, I can hear the rain battering off the conservatory roof. It's a positively balmy 7°C.

Such a difference from yesterday, where no-one could get out of our estate, the roads looked wet, but it was in fact solid ice.
DIL phoned to warn me not to go anywhere, she couldn't get into her street after the school run (no gritters again😡) and had left her car in a parking area. Later on, she found her car had slid out and was blocking the road!

It was probably for the best, it meant I was forced to stay in. I had been really sick earlierwhen I got up and DH insisted I rest.

Later, when I felt a bit better, I filled a bag for the charity shop. Why do things, you thought you looked good in months ago, look awful on you when you go back to them later?
Long phone phone calls with the PP and DIL helped the time pass quickly.
The PP was concerned because I have been missing all week and no-one had seen me. I have quite a few tasks, which need done once I feel better..

This morning I have a Safeguarding meeting in the Diocesan Offices and have planned to go for lunch with one of the other co-ordinators, who is an old school friend. Her BIL is my sacristan pal, his ears are always burning when we meet up! 😉
It's an effort to get going, but once I'm there, I know I will enjoy catching up with people I know and it's beneficial for my safeguarding role.

Good morning from frosty Colchester. It's just above freezing and the sky has an orange glow. Sunny and breezy today with a climbing temperature.
No plans, so will play today by ear. A bit of ironing and a walk for some veg.

Today I plan to move all the furniture take up all the rugs and hoover snd steam clean the wholE floor in the conservatory - it will then have had a complete spring clean.

karmalady yes to the difficulty of driving in a low sun - so dangerous. Even walking in it I have found a pain the last couple of mornings.

Our little unwanted house guest has expired. I found his dear little body on a stair - I think the dog frightened him to death! RIP little brown mouse. The dog spent a restful evening though. He has a cough (old man’s cough according to the vet) and has had a disturbed night - probably the cold walks. Snoring at the moment though.

My best wishes for strength and fortitude to people like baggs with such sad mountains to climb.

I had intended to visit my friend in hospital today but her family are with her all the time.

DS1 is coming for a take away pizza and to watch the football on TV. I haven't seen him since Christmas so it will be good to have a catchup before he and DH start to concentrate on the match.

Good morning from a very frosty Essex coast. I believe this is the last of the really cold weather , storms to come.
Speaking to DD1 yesterday it seems that my DGD had a severe asthma attack. She has never had one this bad before but thankfully is on the mend.
DD2 rang yesterday afternoon with concerns about her FIL who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers, a worrying time for them.
DH and I are going to Kent later for my youngest brother's 60th Birthday celebrations. We will be home on Sunday.
Thinking of all those with worries and sadness.

Good morning everyone from a still dark and dry Northampton, 2° outside. A cloudy day is forecast, and milder.
Planning on hopping on the bus to go to the shops, need one or two things that weren't available in my Thursday delivery.
A quiet day in yesterday, got lots of those odd niggly jobs done, then reading more of Demon Copperhead.
My very recently bereaved neighbour has been taken to spend a few days with his DS and family. Glad he has company. I must get a card for him today.
Will be watching rugby on tv tonight, as my team the Saints are in Limerick playing Munster in the European Cup. Keeping everything crossed!
Steak and jacket potato for dinner tonight, an easy meal.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. My new non memory mattress was very comfortable, but it’s early days yet!
I have a day in Oxford. I’m attending a Day School on Victorian Art and Literature. Four lectures and lunch. Afterwards on my way home I must pick up OH’s birthday present, and when I get home, finish off the Barmbrack I started yesterday. It is OH’s 72nd birthday tomorrow . Today is my baby sister’s 66th birthday,

Driving in the winter sun is not my favourite thing either, karmalady.

Whitewavemark2, we have many palm trees here in Torbay including one on the frontage of where I live. (see photograph)

Yesterday, I enjoyed a walk in the sunshine, including Tessier Gardens (second photo) where a few daffodils were visible in tight bud.

Good morning from Malta where we are expecting a sunny day with a high of 20°C.

No babysitting duties today so I am forcing myself to finish clearing out the bedroom in readiness for the painter.

I shall have to be ruthless as I have several boxes of cards and letters from over the years. Would you believe I still have all the cards I received whilst in hospital having my appendix removed in 1968! Also all the cards from each of my four babies’ births.

Why am I so sentimental? I’m sure there will be tears, but I don’t have space to keep stuff and it will all be another burden for my poor children to sort out once I’m gone.

I’ve been up watching the Australian Open since 4am. Nuts I know, but I do love tennis 🎾

Good morning, quite a dull day and the calm before the storm, which starts tonight

I had to drive towards the biggest brightest sun yesterday afternoon, it was the most difficult driving ever. I was at the front of a stream of cars and no-one tried to overtake, probably all glad to have someone with tail lights that they could follow

The new jumper needs altering, drat I did some very secure sewing-up. I needed to lower the front neck by an inch. I stayed up and will finish that this morning. I`ll need to tidy up my scribblings for future makes

No idea for today, apart from continuing on my freezer mission and will make a large lasagne, to portion and freeze as ready meals. I have a good local butcher, who only sources from local family farms, so I will not need to store fresh meat and will have space for a variety of home made ready meals

Morning Mick, morning all. It’s cold and clear here too mick. The last one for our corner of Somerset before the storm hits. Some rain due later it seems, the storm tomorrow.

Yesterday was a good day, my red face didn’t scare the patients and volunteering went well. Mr C had been a star while I was out, sorted some laundry and changed the bed. A quick grocery shop and it was back to make and receive chatty phone calls. All very reassuringly normal.

Off on two motorways today, a grave to tend, a visit to an Outlet and family to see.

If we stayed home more I’d make more inroads in the sorting I’d planned baubles. Good luck with yours. I really must concentrate more. Before I know it spring will be here and the garden will be calling.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Durham. Wind and rain forecast today, with warnings out for both. I think I prefer cold and calm. Coffee with a friend at 11, then a walk with Little Dog who is still here later, to break up the task of sorting, decluttering and shredding.
Hoping Baggs precious DD is home and comfortable.

Good morning from a much milder Bristol. I’m not a great fan of wind though…
Yesterday turned out quite unexpected. While having breakfast, DD texted me, asking if she could help with the penultimate IKEA build. It wasn’t convenient but she decided to come over anyway and spend her precious day off with me. She picked me up from Spanish, we went home on,6 to find the painter doing the kitchen. So we went out for lunch.it was lovely to talk to her without the girls squabbling or having to rush out.
When she went home, I did some appliqué for a quilt commissioned by a GM follower, while the painter finished the jobs for the day.
Then the work started. I spent the rest of the afternoon/early evening shuffling furniture from one room to another, finishing with another IKEA build. I needed to borrow a hammer as my rolling pin wasn’t up to the job; my upstairs neighbour came with her hammer to help me. It was an exhausted me who finally had dinner and fell asleep in front of the tv.
Today, church coffee; I shall be selling marmalade.
I hope that everyone keeps safe, uses their energy wisely and have a good weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning, it’s dry and no frost this morning in south Glos, thankfully. I really don’t like the cold 🥶
I have no idea what’s happening today, nothing planned so apart from dog walks I expect I will do more art bits, I’m really enjoying using coloured pencils. Very different from childhood crayoning in!
