Good morning from Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

Bella, I hope the twins aren't too unwell. My three children and two DGGs are asthmatic, all my fault! It can be so frightening for wee ones.

I had a lovely catch up with another gran yesterday, it was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I went.
It transpired because I was I taking a dress back to Monsoon, which was too tight and even the larger size was too tight. I know I am not that fat!
When I got home I couldn't get in. Mr MD who knew I was on my way , usually leaves the door unlocked and comes out to help.
However, the key was in the lock, he was ignoring the doorbell ringing, the rattling of the letterbox and banging on the glass. The wind was howling and it was pouring. Also, he had locked the back gate, so I couldn't get in the back door either. I was not a happy bunny at all!
I had specifically reminded him not to leave the key in the lock, because he always falls asleep in the bath after the golf and he might drown.
Another reason why he needs to get hearing aids! 😡

My plans for the afternoon were scuppered, when I had an attack of vertigo and nausea, I slept for two hours, in the hope that it would pass. It didn't!

I really need to catch up with those household tasks today.
Also, I have a big pot of Scotch broth on the go, just in case DD and SIL pop in. They are usually hungry!!

Good luck with your cooking GM and Mick, try not to worry, those markers can be caused by many things. It is good your team are so vigilant.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry. I can see dawn approaching. GrandMattie I wish I had half your energy. Mick I hope the hospital can sort out the raised level. Ash enjoy being in the audience for a change. Susan enjoy the bowling with your family. Mizuna the robins are lovely. I'm pretty sure that the female robin doesn't have a red breast, so it looks like two males.
Yesterday I felt better. The virus didn't hit me as hard as dgs1 and Sil who are both improving. In the afternoon I met up with an old friend who is in a very similar situation with her parents and sibling to mine so we shared tales(rants) and got things off our chests.
Today will be shopping for food, housework and washing. I was supposed to have one of the boys overnight but I think DD has cancelled their night out because dgs1 was so poorly. I'm not 100% sure though. So I could have a quiet day or a noisy day. If no boy appears, I'll carry on with my getting rid of stuff. I do it every January. My uncle is still in hospital in Spain and will be til next week at least. He's getting physio to help his mobility. My aunt is finding it difficult being so far away from family.
I have just realised I have no idea what I want for dinner. Mattie's talk of haggis has prompted me to add one to the shopping list. Have a good day all

Good morning from a still dark Boggy Brae. I've been awake since about 4. Slept well but woke early after I chuntered home yesterday with a full car (read FULL).

In order to make room for the hospital bed, the OGs took all DD's boxes of knittings, crochetings and sewings back to their house. SiL thought I would be best placed to deal with it, so they drove it all over from their house and transferred it to my car – back seats down, no room for my suitcase except in front of the front passenger seat. It's a long hatchback car.

MrB brought in two of the boxes last night. This morning I have opened them. They contained 6 baby cardigans (all different), 13 baby blankets (all knitted in different stitches and yarns), and 30 hand-made cloth gift bags. DD was making these through some charity but I don't know which. The cardigans need buttons but I think my button jar wended its way to DD's some time ago.

I'm making a list: what there is and what to do with it. There could be another 20 boxes. Any ideas gratefully received.

Good morning from a frosty start in Colchester. Another sunny day with single figure temperatures, lovely.
DH's plans have been cancelled due to storm damage, so we have a quiet day. DS is home for the weekend but he'll catch up on sleep and work on his car and upgrading his computer.
I might do the Garden Bird Watch. We have a pair of robins and a pair of bluetits frequented our feeder. Two fat pigeons hoover up any that falls. I don't think I can count the cheeky acrobatic squirrel though.

Good morning all from a dry @nd lightening north Wales where I’m glad I didn’t know it was a full moon 🌝- I wouldn’t have slept so well otherwise!

Those little robins are delightful Mizuna - I haven’t seen our little fatty for a while but our nesting boxes are attracting a lot of attention and I love hearing the chatter of birds of a morning.

I’m off on my trot to the next town for my paper and tv guide - a lovely hour of mindfulness where I greet all the doggies taking their owners out 😉.

Good morning from a very quiet South Downs.

Yesterday was such a glorious day and I made a good start on the rockery/scree garden. Forecast is again good, so will make further inroads today.

I will also tackle the parquet and turn the rug in the little sitting room, and then that room will be completely sprung😄. Next is the kitchen ☹️ which I find hard work. Start that next week.

I’m still ignoring the ironing.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's dry and calm and sun is forecast. My eight-year-old granddaughter has requested to come for the morning. I made a cushion shaped like a cloud yesterday, from a Liberty library book pattern, and I suspect she'll want to try to make one.

These two robins have finally settled to eat together after many sessions of chest-puffing and arguing. I'm pretty certain they're both males, which is unusual, as they're so territorial. The rising sun reflected on the underside of the circling gulls yesterday, such a lovely sight.

Good morning from a dry & still Sefton. Sunny periods & a gentle breeze forecast for this afternoon.....will make nice change.🌤️
Managed both of my exercise classes yesterday & felt better for it. Friday is usually a quiet, no plans day but had a last minute call to pick up elder GD from school. Looks like this could become regular. Off to a nearby seaside town later this morning. We have "messages" to attend to but it's also a chance for a good mooch around a town we don't often visit.

I had a good day yesterday - an excellent Arts Society lecture in the morning and a delicious lunch out.
Our daughter is home for the weekend - OH will collect her from the station. We haven’t seen her since Christmas.
She will be 43 this year and is currently single. She and her long term partner split up a couple of years ago. I do worry about her. When I was her age I was married with three children and a mortgage!

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a still dark South Yorkshire where we are promised a bright day. It wasn’t half bad yesterday either. I walked to my volunteering slot which gave me a chance to road test my new walking shoes. Very comfy! I will do a food shop this morning and then clean the inside of my car and maybe give the outside a swill if it’s not too cold. Rest of the day will be spent pottering.

Ash, I do use the OTC eye drops for dry eyes, especially through the night. I have some scattered round the flat… but there has to be some advantage to onion tears! 😄

Good morning from a very dark but milder Black Country.

I was up before 6am which is unusual for me. MrJ went to Bristol yesterday to do some jobs for his DD's in their new house. He will be back Sunday. So up early to make a start on making a Lasagne, which I will take to DD's later today.

Had an e-mail from my Managing Agents saying they needed a photo of me and proof of my address. Requested by HMRC and the Home Office. To do with money laundering! HMRC know my address, I regularly have correspondence from them.

grandMattie I am in awe of how you manage to achieve so much.

I’m supposed to be meeting a friend this morning but am waiting to see if DD3 needs help. Both boys have colds and DD3 is not well either. She is an acute asthmatic and was feeling very unwell yesterday when she got back from work. The smaller twin seems to have inherited it as well, it feels so cruel pinning him down to put the mask on for his inhaler, but it has to be done.

Always something to worry about.😰

Good morning from s somerset and it will be cloudy and cool all day but thankfully no rain

What a fitful distubed sleep I had last night, kept waking up and could not stay in bed after after 4.15. Then I looked at my weather station, yes I guessed it, full moon and I know that I am not the only one sensitive to moon energy.

Obviously there will be a nap scheduled for after lunch, to stop me crawling up to bed at 8pm. Anyway first a good fast walk this morning, only 30 minutes to do the hilly circuit but it is a steep hill and three times a week will keep me moving. Later an amble to the local shops for a potter, to see what I fancy, a treat of some sort

Frome visit yesterday was interesting. I see they have a talking bench and a woman was sitting there, I could not stop as I had an appointment but would have stopped otherwise. I saw lots more disheveled types around and some talentless buskers. Frome appears, to me, to be heading away from its promoted upmarket status, which was always useful as a tool to increase property prices. I did look to buy but did not like it four years ago.I dodged a bullet

Good morning from a dry Bristol. The temperatures are back in single figures.
Yesterday as chockablock, I was too tired after all the events to go to a possibly very interesting talk at the “Spanish” club in the evening. Spanish, straight home with DD; we assembled a cupboard, had lunch; put up pictures; kissed her goodbye and went straight upstairs for tea with a neighbour; came home and shifted furniture; finally sat down to have dinner and early bed as I was shattered.
My onions are ordered. I soak them in very hot water - peeling is easy and there are fewer tears. Mind you, that might help my “dry eyes”.
So today will be busy again. Church coffee; prepare the onions and take them to the vicarage to caramelise. Get to the hall for 1815, steam the haggises, all 30 of them, finish the gravy - I have nearly 2 hours for that, serve everything and go home! Phew.
