Good morning from Glasgow. It’s still dark outside, 3C, not raining and calm. I noticed Kinlochewe had temperatures of 19.7C yesterday, wish the northerly winds could blow some of that heat down here.

I am looking forward to meeting up with two old school friends today at my cousin’s house nearby. Her DH will pop in for a visit with DH while I am gone.
During a dry spell yesterday I did some tidying up in the garden with an obligatory coffee al fresco, just what I needed.

Have the best day possible all

Good morning everyone from a still dark and dry Northampton; 10°C out, a grey morning, but sun this afternoon is forecast.

Yoga at 9.30, then home for coffee and a few jobs to follow. After lunch a visit from my broadband provider to give my system a check. Then a catch-up with the weekend papers which I have not had time to read.

Had a lovely family lunch out yesterday to celebrate DSon-in-law's 50th birthday. Delicious roast pork and some of the best roast potatoes I have ever had!

When I got home I binge-watched a series I had recorded before Christmas - an American version of Downton Abbey, called 'The Gilded Age', set in the late 19th century amongst the very rich of New York. It was written by Julian Fellowes, who had written and produced Downton. Each episode had me hooked, and eager to watch the next one. I must see if I can find the first series now!

Wishing all a good start to the week on this Monday morning.

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. The forecast is for sunshine and showers.

This morning I am helping on a zoom Carer Learning session.

Marydoll Mon 29-Jan-24 07:26:03

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 2°C.
I have had little sleep and DH wakening me, just as I dozed off, hasn't helped my mood. 😉
Pants I have always wanted to try a cruise, especially after hearing of my friends' experiences, but Mr MD has always refused! I am envious.

A day in the house for me is planned. On a Monday, I usually go down to Mass and catch up with some jobs, but I still feel ropey after a day in bed yesterday.

Have a good day folks, you all sound so busy!

NanKate Mon 29-Jan-24 07:23:45

Good morning Mick and All from South Bucks which promises to be a mild day again.

Yes Bellasnana the tennis final in Oz was brilliant. Well done to young Sinner, what a lovely young man he is.

Lots of paperwork today, which I should have done before now 😏

GrannySomerset Mon 29-Jan-24 07:20:47

Still very dark and feels dry but no rush to get up as I have an empty week ahead with just some admin in view today. Looks like a reading day, I think. Hope that inspiration will strike soon.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but very mild. It seems we are in for a wet day, so I shall be housebound. DS’s visit yesterday was a huge pleasure for me. He said he only came down because their central heating boiler is broken😁! There is never a break in the conversation. We had a very nice lunch in the local pub and managed to squeeze a walk in. Then he helped me with a couple of heavy jobs before he went home.
Today I have paperwork to sort out, will get on with some knitting and just generally potter.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning all 👋

I have been awake since 5 am, no idea why.
Apparently it’s 8 degrees and cloudy outside. Off to the gym first thing and then I really need to feed the washing machine.

Enjoy your day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from Malta where it’s another day with 18°C expected.

I’m at DD3’s but both boys are still fast asleep. They went to the beach yesterday so the sea air must have done them good!

I had a very lazy day yesterday but thoroughly enjoyed the Men’s singles final . What an exciting match.

Don’t worry Pantglas, I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine. Good to have supplies though just in case.

Have a good day all. ☀️

RosesandLilac Mon 29-Jan-24 06:20:51

Good morning from a damp Cotswold hillside in south Glos, apparently it’s 10° out there so positively balmy.
Enjoy your cruise Pantglas, I’d love to do one but DH isn’t in the slightest bit interested and I am notoriously travel sick so probably not my best idea!
Apart from a trip to the dentist this week I have nothing planned. I really need to start planning trips out, I don’t like driving and public transport is a joke here. DH isn’t interested so I need to buck up my ideas and do something 😊
Perhaps a holiday cottage somewhere with the dog for a few days would be nice?
Take care 🌹

Good morning from s somerset, no rain until this evening but a bland day weatherwise

I need to dust all around today and will change my bed, bottom the bedroom and clean the en suite. That is enough for today but best to keep on top of chores. I might sew a bag this afternoon, might knit. Who knows, I am a free agent and will go where the fancy takes me

It has been a lovely weekend

Have a good day

Good morning from a dark Black Country, where I am not sure what the weather is doing outside yet.

Up early to make my chicken and vegetable soup. Then my Monday morning walk, then meet friend to go to Line Dancing for 1pm, phew!

The start of a busy week, I shall be out on various missions every day until Friday!

Lovely day yesterday with DD and the girls, shopping for new coat for DGD4 and gym clothes for DGD2. MrJ arrived home around 5pm, after spending the weekend with his girls shopping for a new kitchen for their house. He also managed to book Bristol Hippodrome to see Hamilton in May. Using the Theatre Vouchers I had for my 70th birthday.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a dry and mild Torbay. Yesterday we saw some sunshine around lunchtime and a quite balmy 13 degrees!

I hope you'll find time to relax a little more, grandMattie. You've had some busy times between home improvements, church and family.
Happy den building, Grandmabatty - it's lovely to hear of imaginative playtimes.
I expect you’ll be fine on board cruise ship, Pantglas2 on as the ships have excellent stabilisers. You must be very excited! I wonder where you’re headed.

A quieter week ahead, starting with Move It or Lose It today.

Have a good week and special thoughts of those in need. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 29-Jan-24 06:04:21

No weather comment from me! Goodness I must be tired. The weather currently in Polmont is damp and the temperature is 4°. How remiss of me. Pantsglas enjoy your wander round the shops. GrandMattie another busy day ahead for you!

Pantglas2 Mon 29-Jan-24 05:54:05

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dry-at-the-moment north Wales- it won’t last as we’ve been warned of horrendous rain for the next couple of days 🥴

It won’t dampen my enthusiasm for a morning wander around The Range, Primark and Boots - we’re going on our first cruise 🚢 next month and I’m stocking up on anti-seasickness tablets as I don’t know how good (or bad 🤢) a sailor I am!

Gentle hug to all with health issues to worry about and may all appointments run smoothly- if only, eh!

grandMattie Mon 29-Jan-24 05:53:29

Good morning from a mild, dry Bristol.
I was very tired yesterday and did do much. I went to the concert at the Bristol Beacon last evening. It was the opening day and apparently there were wall to wall concerts from 12 midday!
The one I went to, because DD1 was in one of the choirs, was the world premiere of a short opera called “Odyssey”, relating the journey of a refugee from an unnamed home country at war to Britain. Very powerful, though not something I’d have gone to unless invited.
We went to a Chinese restaurant afterwards. It was a long day again.
Unfortunately, today I need to see my solicitor, go to help at the toddler group and have my feet done here…
The vicar seems very excited by my suggestion of St. George’s day. We’ll see!
Hugs and prayers for the sad and poorly, especially Urms, Marydoll, baggs and kalu. I’m sorry if I’ve missed anyone.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 29-Jan-24 05:50:05

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Enjoy your trip. It's early childcare day for me. Of course I didn't sleep well. 🙄 Yesterday I made banana bread, lentil soup and roasted a chicken in the morning then visited mum in the afternoon. She was chatty and being cheeky although still confused.
Today dgs1 is back to nursery so dgs2 and I will have a walk and I've been instructed that den building in the house is his latest thing so that's what I shall do. Have a good day all
