To Complain or Not To Complain?
Do people still stamp their feet in anger?
Yesterday on our local BC news, both television and print, had the titles
"Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Whistler for Invictus Games Training".
I was curious why they used that headline, rather than using their official titles. Then I questioned their actual titles and how they should be addressed. I googled it, but admit I'm still a bit confused. He is a prince by birth, but not using the title now, so should be addressed as a Duke?
Should the headline have read 'The Duke and Duchess of Sussex..." instead? Even CBC which is funded by government much like your BBC used "Prince Harry and Meghan..." which I thought was odd.
I wonder about the media's reasons for using such casual titles, and even using Meghan's maiden name when they've been married for 8 years.
Ok, I think the need to touch arms of people so much is not

Most critcism is of what Harry says and he does love to tell much on tv programmes so we repeat what he choose to say
I am sorry Anniebach, I didn't make it clear that my reply at 21.29.57 yesterday was to another poster, but thank you for your interesting replies.

I've watched that twice. The singer instructs people "You can link hands and weave". M briefly touches the woman on one side who links with someone else and the man on the other side who is intent on playing imaginary drums. She looks a bit embarrassed.. Who is she supposed to be "guiding/controlling"?
Glorianny
I questioned why she has the need to touch people, she does control Harry pushes him forward or holds him back, often when greeting people.
In the clip I posted I felt sorry for her, I wonder why she didn’t join the group with the woman, she stayed centre but looked lost
In the picture I posted he is leading her. I jokingly asked who leads who? An arm around her shoulders could be seen as controlling. But actually I think they are just a couple comfortable with holding hands and personal contact in public, which is nice for both of them
As for the video you claim it is proof of her touching and controlling people. In actual fact it is entirely the opposite it shows she is sensitive to others and doesn't impose herself.
Some people really need to get a life beyond moaning about the Sussex’s . Gleaning there so called facts from the tabloids !

Well, I am glad that I made someone laugh
. I obviously worded my post badly as I did not think for one minute that the King would bother with Gransnet. I was just following up someone else's post who had made the point that who wants their child's behaviour to be discussed on social media. I agree with that point of view, you and other posters do not, and that's fair enough.
TheatreLover thank you, I comment on words and behaviour not what the press say unless they are reporting facts
not rubbish such as ‘sources close to’
Anniebach
TheatreLover you have never criticised an author, tv celebrity, politician , sportsperson, anyone giving a tv interview ,anyone who chooses to be in the public eye for fear they have some one who loves them ?
Hello Anniebach. Thank you for you question as it is a very fair one. No, I have never gone onto social media to criticise anyone. It would be reasonable to criticise someone for how they behave, or things they say, so I can understand the antipathy to Harry because of things that he has said in public interviews. Sometimes, it does seem that threads about the royal family, some of which are extremely interesting, are dominated by the posters who seem to want to do nothing more than write negative comments about Harry and his wife but, fair enough, this thread is about them so I suppose that is to be expected.

Surely by giving them your attention you are reinforcing your belief that they are attention seeking.
Surely commenting on here, including writing this is reinforcing the belief that they are attention seeking.
CoolCoco is there a reason you refer to Meghan spelled the way she does but refer to Catherine as Kate? Catherine prefers to be called Catherine and William always refers to her as Catherine.
I don't understand why everybody else seems to be referred to by their given or preferred name (Meghan was registered as Rachel, Harry is registered as Henry) but poor Catherine has to be Kate.
Is this bitching ? Charles has cancer
Camilla on royal duty, speaks of good luck messages he is receiving
William on royal duty says thank you for messages
Harry gives a tv interview ,speaks of his love of his family and how this can bring families together, Mr.Markle ! ! ! !
I dislike them and certainly don’t read ‘the gutter press’, so you got that wrong. Do you seriously believe they are not attention-seeking?
I am not a Meghan or any RF devotee, they can all retire into their castles , but what I dislike is the inevitable bitchy interpretations of anything Meghan or Harry do, it’s fuelled by the gutter press of course who nevertheless print pages of photos and gossip about all of them, which those who purport to dislike them , nevertheless must read and digest - why don’t you just not read or comment on whatever they do to annoy you ? Surely by giving them your attention you are reinforcing your belief that they are attention seeking.

I have always understood that, in men, shaking hands whilst simultaneously grasping the OP’s opposite elbow is a way of emphasing superiority or dominance maybe ‘getting the first hug in’ denotes something similar when employed by a woman!
Anniebach
Megan does it to both men and women, not hugging, guiding/
controlling
Let's see some evidence of it then. Otherwise it's just your imagination.

I should give up now, Glorianny - you won’t change some people’s minds!
Well he's leading her and got his arm round her in these pictures so maybe he's controlling her??? Or maybe sometimes people just touch other people?
The observation made about the woman constantly patting, stroking, hugging was made about a work colleague who did it to both men and women; people did not enjoy it but found it difficult to prevent. He certainly did not welcome it.
Try again, not hugging, she places her hand onto someone’s
arm as she does all the time with Harry as if guiding them
Well perhaps because I’m British, I don’t like being hugged by all and sundry.
Me too, Calendargirl.
I do think hugging goes on more in America - Michelle Obama and Jill Biden do it. Interestingly Melania Trump does it far less, but then she has Slovenian origins.
It followed a very unpleasant comment
