Good morning from a sopping wet hillside in south Glos 🙄, a wet and muddy dog walk this morning I guess.
I spent some time yesterday sorting through materials I have accumulated to start an art journal, something new to me, so doing the is the plan today.
I will tackle the ironing too this morning, I can listen to a podcast while I do it so not a chore really.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

I found a moth on a jumper this morning and swiftly ordered some spray, I’ll be looking now.

I will go to yoga this morning and then pack and prepare for a weekend in Fife.

DD has been unsettled by the news of the murder of a dog walker in her next village and thus I am too.

That must have been a shock Ash but make an urgent appointment now with your GP. Sending hugs.

It's awful when we get news like that and we realise how vulnerable we are and have no control over it.
I was upset when I read my exemption certificate yesterday, it was very sobering to read the prognosis and details of my health on it. I tend to block it out and pretend I am ok!

Yesterday turned out to be a very eventful one. I was feeling very sorry for myself , after my lack of sleep and high pain levels. (Last night was even worse ☹. Between my constant coughing and trying to find a painless position, poor (very patient 💕) DH got little sleep.

My medical exemption certificate was ready, so needed picked up. DH suggested that we visit the car showroom afterwards, because it is only five minutes away from the surgery.
Driving is becoming so difficult due to my pain levels and my consultant has been insisting on changing to an automatic for the last few years, so that I can maintain my independence. I have resisted until now, that would be giving in and anyway I wanted to be a martyr. 😉

My car needs an MOT soon, despite the extremely low mileage, I suspect its age means it will need work done to pass. However, I keep dithering about what to do.
My first choice was an Aygo, but when we got to the retail park for a look, the dealership was no longer there. DH suggested we had a look at the many other dealerships.
The surprising outcome is that I will pick up my all singing, all dancing new, automatic car on Wednesday. Not an Aygo!!😁

Babydoll lives ten minutes away, so we popped in, much to DS' delight. DIL was preparing for a second interview and DS2 was exhausted trying to keep baby out of mischief. I have never seen such a hyper active baby, apart from her father.
It was exhausting, but what a boost to my low spirits!

Nothing on the cards today, apart from a doze, methinks.

Good morning everyone. It's bright and breezy on the Angus coast today. I love mornings like these - although I've just seen a rainbow so there are showers around.
I'm so sorry about your diagnosis Ash and not surprised you're feeling down about it. Sending a 🤗. As Oops says, make sure the receptionist is fully aware of why you need to see a GP and I feel sure you will be seen.
I love that word "thwacking" karma 😁. Is it a technical term? It's certainly very descriptive!
Yesterday Dancing DGD conducted a 90 minute workshop in contemporary dance at her old dance school which appears to have gone down well. It's wonderful to see how far she's come - just three short months until she finishes her BA course!
For me, it's just the same old same old today - tai chi followed by a visit to the shops with some garden appreciation and communing with the fish in the pond to follow if the breeze isn't too brisk 😉.
I hope everyone sees at least a little sunshine today - it's definitely the best medicine. Take care x

The arboretum was lovely but daffy are not quite out yet. Large clusters have come up blind too so it may not be the usual fabulous showing.
In the afternoon my neighbour rang to say her gardener had finished but had time to cut and edge my front lawn. Did I want him to….! It shamed me into cutting the back (but not the edges).
In my efforts to emulate #lazygran my occasional cleaner will be here at 9 to do the windows.
Coffee with a friend later than the cinema this evening.

Good morning all and Ive been awake since 5. I can’t just lie there as worries mount up and my mind goes into overdrive.
So up I got and had a cuppa. 😉.

Yesterday I met my old school pal for coffee and we managed to face time our friend who is staying with her daughter in Oz.
What a lovely chat we had. Technology still amazes me.

DS1 took me to buy shrubs at the nursery and we came back and planted them out. Still lots of work to be done, but we’re on the way.

Ash sorry to hear your news, but TIA’s are very common. Your meds should sort you out. Try not to worry too much.

Good morning from a grey but dry Sefton. It is forecast to stay dry but has rained overnight.
Much disappointment yesterday teatime after our very busy day - the chippy was shut😱. No fish & chips for tea. We had to settle for a Maccies, much to our GD's delight, her preferred option.
Zumba class this morning, then a visit to the fish man & Tesco's. My week days tend to follow the same regular pattern. Boring I know but at least I know what day it is & where I am. Zumba + fish man (usually stood in a queue in the rain) + Tesco's = Thursday.😬
Sorry to hear your news Ash. Very unsettling for you. Good that you heard during one of OD's visits & have his support.

DH has an appointment with the respiratory consultant today, I’ll keep him company, I think he’s still feeling a little anxious.

Later I’ll make a pot of chilli to take to DH tomorrow and also cook some gammon for today.

I have to go to the butcher's and Waitrose today but have to wait until DH brings the car back from his hearing appointment. The other car is still having the body work repaired.

DH is another person to have had an unnoticed TIA , Ash. He has been fine (on medication) since it was discovered and presumably for a while before that as we had no idea.

Good morning all.
DGS2 was ok on the whole on Tuesday but DH spent 10 minutes trying to get him into his car seat after a visit to Whitehalls garden centre as he was being very difficult. When we got home we found he had undone his harness and looked triumphant. We were outside for 2 hours gardening in our very muddy garden. He loves being outside but was covered in mud so had to be mostly undressed before he came back inside.
The other GP’s came round for tea and cake yesterday afternoon and they said they were having similar problems. He reserves his spectacular tantrums for his parents.
I’m sorry to see you did have a TIA Ashcombe and that medication helps. I hope your RA flare up dissipates quickly Marydoll.

Good morning from a cloudy, but dry Durham. A good idea Ash to ‘mention’ your Consultant to the receptionist - that always worked for DH. I do hope you get some ‘action’, it’s only natural to be preoccupied.
I’ve slept 10 hours - that’s virtually unknown, but I’m not feeling well with a hacking cough and tight chest.
A morning at home, then I’m meeting a friend for tea and cake later. Little Dog will need a walk before dark.

Yesterday I wrote a nice post and it disappeared! So hope this one is successful.

ashcombe I know quite a few people who have had a TIA - do not be too downcast as they recovered really well - get your medicine and off you go🙂. My mum was one who had a TIA at about 89 - in fact it was really as sort of mini stroke but she recovered so well - carried on her normal life snd died at 101.

Well I’ve recovered from my glums - not at all sure what that was about - needed a kick up the a..s I think.

We’ve had 1 glorious day this week the rest has been unremitting rain and gloom. That one day I gardened - oh joy - accompanied by Tofu who seems to think I’m his bestie. He is a real hunter and his owner was telling me that he brings in mice by the bucketload (note - slight exaggeration) one day she came down the stairs in bare feet and trod in a bloody mouse corpse😮. I didn’t like to mention that we - particularly my DH are in constant war with him, as he clearly thinks of our garden as his utility area and uses it for his ablutions - particularly once fresh vegetable seeds have been sown. DH tries all sorts of constructions to keep Tofu off, to no avail. I have heard language I never thought to hear from my husband😮😮.

Today - I am planning my summer pots and trying to decide what to put into a permanent pot in the front garden - the rhododendron is not doing well in it. Lots of on line browsing.

Yesterday I had my three monthly haircut. It doesn't take long because I don't have much left and it doesn't grow much either. My hairdresser is a lovely chap who feels sorry for me and always pops a freebie bottle of something in my handbag 😊. In the afternoon I had a diabetic eye test at the hospital and was shocked with the vision in my right eye. Very blurry at distance reading. I hadn't realised it was so bad. I do have an optician's appointment on Sunday so we'll see what they say.
Today is the last art class in this session. I'm still suffering from a cold but it's not too bad to keep me home. I'll drop my friend off afterwards and head home for a Tesco delivery. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Glasgow. We are promised a dry day today with strong winds.

A Waitrose visit today at some point otherwise an at home day with a glance at the to do list. GD2 FaceTimed me last night, now 14 she can wear contact lenses and wanted me to see her new look. She did look different and the huge smile on her face confirms she is thrilled at not having to wear glasses at last.

Ash I am so sorry to read your news but also pleased to know a meds review will be done to find which meds will benefit this recent diagnosis. What a frightening experience for you. 💐

A long journey yesterday but good to see the girls and hear all their news.
I am becoming mini Nan, they are all so tall, and I am not short at 5ft 5in.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary damp South Yorkshire. Mick I had a similar problem with my tv recently- could only get terrestrial tv and Freesat. Turned out that the tv itself needed its software updating so it might be worth looking at that. Writers group was mostly taken up yesterday taking about ancestry and genaeology. Fascinating stuff, but we didn’t get much writing done! We seem to spend a lot of time going off at a tangent these days. Love it!
I am off out with the walking group this morning, then lunch with DD. I have to pick up my new glasses this afternoon - readers and drivers.

I have to finish off my stained glass piece from yesterday. The excess cement needs scrubbing off and the whole thing cleaning up. If it looks good I’ll think about getting it framed.
Then my book group at lunch time in the village cafe. I didn’t finish the set book (can’t remember the name) so will talk about Pepys Diaries, which are captivating.

Good morning from a wet Oxfordshire, due to rain all day.

My car has to go up for its MOT, MrOops will wait in at home for the plumber (loo still not fixed) so I will take a book to read and wait for my car, hopefully it will pass, it’s an old car so who knows?
Apart from that I need to sort the empty crates in the garage, sort MzOops stuff into some empty crates so that the cabin can be organised ready for her next load. Then as I now have empty crates I can start organising the house ready for it to go up for sale in a couple of months.

Sorry about your diagnosis Ash might be an idea to tell the receptionist that your Consultant says you need an urgent Drs appointment, that should do the trick, hope you get seen soon.

My thoughts are with those who are struggling with their health or who are stressed and have other worries.

Good morning from s somerset, rain all day today

I have been tidying and thinking about food for visitors. I put my spun yarn away for now, I still have to soak and thwack the skeins before hanging on the line to drip dry. No time right now and I like them to go outside for that process of thwacking

I need to return a book to a relative so I skim read it last night, it was a fact book with loads of padding and I just absorbed the facts.

I managed to buy 2 items from ebay, I prefer `buy it now` one for back support on my lounge chair and another for `switch on` electronic stretching. Both were very cheap compared to new prices. The chair support will enable me to keep my most-used chair. Both items had very good reviews

I did a touch of mouche the bear, added eyes, snout and mouth and ears. I can only do a bit at a time, it is so small and my dpns are 4". It is starting to look cute though
