How very sad. We love them. We've been watching the new series where he keeps saying how lucky he feels to be back on the road with his mate.
RIP Dave.

I too thought Dave was on the road to recovery. So sad. Together him and Si made the best cookery programmes, funny, practical and easy to follow. He seemed a lovely genuine bloke. RIP Dave.

Very sad, remember seeing them live, both so very funny. I watched one of the new series, and he looked so frail. He'll be missed by many, RIP.

It seems most of us thought he was getting better, me included, I suppose he kept it quite private although we all knew he wasn’t well, I too have been watching the latest touring the North West, they were deff two very close friends it is so sad .

A lovely man. The Hairy Bikers always seemed as if they were nice, genuine, ordinary people with amazing talents for cooking and people skills. Condolences to Dave's family and to Si. He will be very much missed.

Very sad. He came across as such a lovely, genuine bloke - they both did. Saw the tribute from Si. Made me cry. RIP Dave.

I'm a bit shocked too, as I also thought he was on the road to recovery. I enjoyed watching their programmes, they were both so gentle and funny. My sympathies to his friends and family.

Great recipes, straight forward to follow and frequent use of the word “ unctuous !”
Dave seems like an old friend, sadly missed.

I'm watching an old episode now, they are in the Southern US. Almost in tears.

Such a loss. RIP. Always seemed kind and caring.

In tonight's episode of the series filmed last year, Dave got to drive a steam train.
Si said "It was nice to see me best mate driving the train. It was just lush to see a smile on his face, because he's had a rough time."
😥

I’ve a strong suspicion this last series was Dave’s swan song. So is very protective of him.
