Had a busy day with visits from 3 neighbours, consecutively. Took up most of the day , each staying for about 1 and 1/2 hours each. I feel privileged that my neighbours /friends can pop in whenever. Take me as I am is my policy .
Now, I am watching ‘Millionaire’ with a cup of tea..

I had a busy Saturday as I accompanied a friend to a lesson with one of our top dressage riders. As I can no longer ride my friends are asking me to go with them to video their lessons which I am more than happy to do. It was freezing cold but her lorry is beautiful and quite luxurious, I had a bit of "lorry envy" but as I don't own a horse now I don't need a posh lorry. The lesson was indoors with an overhead heater for any spectators (thank goodness) and she provided lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed myself even though I felt sad that I wasn't riding myself but it was a really interesting lesson and the trainer is lovely. After being out all day I was shattered as I'm still recovering from my accident so was more than happy to watch an hour of TV and go to bed with a hot water bottle and my kindle.

I had a nice mundane Saturday, I was going to go to the gym in the morning but it was coming down stair rods, so I did some ironing instead, exercised the arm at least! I went to the gym today though to make up for not going yesterday. PM the rain had cleared up, went to collect an order at M&S. Cajun chicken and sweet potato mash plus a couple of glasses of for dinner. In the evening we watched an episode of a Belgian crime series, Pandora, thankfully it was in French not Flemish, it was recommended here on GN will probably continue with it seemed quite good. Then watched a film on BBC IPlayer, Northern Soul. Set in the 70s, flared trousers, soul music, drugs and nifty dance moves, sort of North of England version of Saturday Night Fever. After that, bed with a book!

We had friends round on Friday and didn’t get to bed till 2, so had a quiet Saturday. The most arduous thing I did was finish my latest jigsaw. We did go to a quiz last night at our local cricket club, but it was a pint or two of bitter shandy and bed before 10.30 for me. I know how to live it up!

I made the mistake of going to a supermarket yesterday as I didn't feel up to it on Friday. Never again! It was so crowded and so busy that I could hardly move my trolley around.

Yesterday I spent almost 4 hours sitting in a WW2 air raid shelter situated in our local museum, listening to music of the era plus occasional air raid sound effects.
Met some interesting visitors, walked home in the cold and rain and on entering the house was greeted by the delicious smell of pork and apple stew simmering on the hob, courtesy of my daughter who is visiting with her family.
I got ambushed by my 2 Yr old granddaughter who was clutching a book for me to share with her.
My daughter's partner presented me with a hot cup of coffee then I snuggled up with my GD on the sofa.
Bliss.

Himself and I have just been over the road to our local curry house. I enjoyed a half bottle of wine with my meal, Himself isn’t allowed alcohol as he is on chemotherapy. We’ve sat, chatted, had a laugh and are very grateful for this treatment. The cancer is incurable but evenings like this make us count our blessings and really appreciate one another.

I had a lazy day as I was out with my friend at a Turkish restaurant last night and have been to 60th party this evening.
At 86 I don’t usually do two night out together.
I only stayed an hour and a half at the party.
It was very crowded and noisy and my GD and I knew very few people.
I am happy we showed our faces but it wasn’t for me though grateful to be invited.

Hi Eirlys Nice to meet you. I'm only 78 and currently sitting watching television with my cat! I'm in Berkshire and my son lives with me. His son lives with us part of the week. Saturday is usually a day of rest, a lie in, a small load in the washing machine, and my son usually cooks dinner. No urgent shopping to do or school runs to help with.

I'm quite happy not to go out today.

I arrived home from church to find out my son had ordered a takeaway pizza and left me some.

So I'm eating cold pizza with a glass of red watching the Weakest Link. May look for a film when I've finished eating!

I'm a fairly new Gransnet poster though I have posted some comments. I have not introduced myself as I couldn't find an appropriate place. As you all seem to be sitting comfortably this evening I'll just state tha I''m 93, still compos mentis and live in Dorset. I spend my days cooking my meals, reading, watching mainly Netflix and Prime, using my computers. It's a cabbage-like existence but I'm usually a happy cabbage. I like thrillers, classic dramas ("Jane Eyre", :Cranford"etc) and a good film! The sky has been blue today, a lovely change but the evening is chilly. I am comfortable, warm and settled with my cat!

Had a busy day with family visits, cooking (the chicken was squealing, as I managed to make very good use of all of it) and have just finished working on Parish website, which I forgot to do. I am exhausted.

I am allowed a glass of wine tonight, after ten days of antibotics, along with some cheese straws and dip.
We shall watch the last episode of Trigger Point, then bed.
I am so looking forward to it.

Watching rubbish TV with three of the grandchildren, eating delivered pizzas. It's wet and miserable outside and it's cosy and warm in here. I love winter Saturdays

Out with a friend today,just goinĝ round shops,unplanned lunch in a Turkish restaurant and a glass of wine.
Home by 5 cup of tea,small snack,going to curl up in bed HW bottle cup of tea and carry on with my book on my kindle.
Simple pleasures.

It's been snowing here so no incentive to go out at all. I will draw the blinds soon and stay warm and cosy. No doubt my grandchildren will be preparing to go out later. Both at university.

I'll join you if I may Calendargirl, mines a Baileys, a snorey old dog for cuddling and Mapp & Lucia. Cheers

Today DH is in London with our 3 DDs. They are visiting a couple of places as his b/day gift.
Places that I have no interest in.
I have done some craftwork and watched a sentimental film and will enjoy a steak dinner later.
