I would love it…I know I’d get a few nice gifts, flowers etc, and husband and I are used to doing a full Sunday roast and feeding everyone anyway. Can’t think of anything I’d like less than being taken out for lunch/dinner on Mother’s Day, as everywhere is too busy and often full of over-excited, noisy, or out of control younger children…been there, done that, and would much prefer a lovely relaxed family day at home.
Since my own mum died many years ago, Mother’s Day has never really been complete for me, and I think it’s just one of those over-hyped occasions anyway. There must be so many lonely, bereaved, or those who wanted to be mums, but weren’t able to be, out there, who find it an upsetting or emotional time.
