To be honest I’m rather disappointed if I watch a drama and there are no “interesting” sex scenes.

I don’t think you should call gay sexual acts perversion, or suggest that the people involved are morally degenerate , nor would I agree that what you describe is likely to corrupt young people, but personally I don’t think what you describe is very suitable for a 15 year old.
I'd agree.
It's 15 for a reason. And whilst I don't necessarily think it's suitable, I am 99% certain that young people these days have seen this kind of thing already AND go actively looking for it either on the internet, TikTok or other platforms.
Ultimately, it's entertainment (some may well disagree!) and if you find it offensive, don't watch it. And any film/programme over a 12 these days often comes with a warning to inform you of its content. I'll often read reviews or check online before I see a film anyway.
Most of all, it's an opportunity to relay to our children/young people that this isn't necessarily how real life is. Whilst we should be teaching our kids about sex, love and meaningful CONSENSUAL (gay, straight) relationships, we should also NOT be shaming them into thinking that this is dirty and immoral.
But OP, I hear you. It must have been very awkward for you.

Oh dear, I'm not even sure where to start here - or even if I want to! Morally degenerate? Perversion? That's unbelievable.
And I'm pretty sure that in 2024, many 15-year-olds have seen far worse on their phones!Oh, that's okay then. Let's just open the floodgates of depravity and let everyone see it on TV. 🤦♀️
There is an 'off' switch - it's actually very easy to use. And I'm more concerned that the OP appears to be sending out the message to her GD that sexual acts between two men are depraved or perverted.
Fair2Good I totally agree with you.
There was a discussion on the radio today about how the sexual acts youngsters see on porn are regarded now as normal expected behaviour.
It isn’t and it saddens me that children, 13 14 15 year old boys especially, have these views of sex. It should not be purely physical but a part of a loving respectful relationship.
I always find explicit sex scenes depressing. It’s as if the producers are satisfying themselves and don’t think the audience has any imagination. I don’t mean returning to trains through tunnels or crashing waves again in films to imply things but someone else’s eroticism is not everyone’s.

Those who are saying to check the trigger warnings, fine, you may decide not to watch. But that doesn't stop it being transmitted and young impressionable people seeing it.
It doesn't. But it allows those who want to censor others' viewing to do so.
I prefer trigger warnings to blanket certificates, as we are all upset by different things. I am a scardycat when it comes to horror/supernatural things, for instance, and I'm not keen on explicit violence, but consensual sex scenes (gay or straight) don't bother me, and I didn't mind my children seeing them at 15. I knew what would upset them though, and when they were young would try to protect them from scenes that might give them nightmares.
I watched Oppenheimer (15) with my family last week and have to say I felt quite uncomfortable with the sex scenes given that I was with my teenage grandsons so I can understand where the OP is coming from.

I have to agree with the OP that the amount of sex and swearing being served up these days is appalling. It's not only Netflix, the BBC and ITV both have a new series about teens and probably aimed at teens, which are deeply disturbing. You will need subtitles for both.
I urge you all to watch the first episode of Boarders on BBC3. This starts with something that looks like it came straight out of Clockwork Orange. You won't have to wait long before a white public schoolgirl asks one of the new black boys on first meeting about the size of his penis. If you can make it to the rugby match you'll see three public schoolgirls drooling over the black boy playing rugby. You'll have to hear their comments for yourself, I'm not repeating them here.
On ITV there is a new series called G'Wed and I've watched very little of this because there was so much effing at the start it was painful. Scrolled on and there were some schoolgirls standing by the school gate scrolling through dick pics on their phone.
You might wonder why I'm watching these, well I'm not really, I'm just taking a look at what is being served up to the younger generation these days. And what I'm seeing is deeply disturbing and upsetting. I really don't want my grandchildren watching these. They are being transmitted on mainstream channels, which do not require a subscription. All I can say is to watch the first episodes for yourself because this is what is going out these days. I will be complaining and I hope others will, but unfortunately the people who watch are not likely to be the ones who would complain. I’m not sure what the answer is.
There usually is a warning on Netflix, saying what people need to look out for. Things like suicide, drug use and violence are given trigger warnings, as is sex. I'd be surprised if this film didn't have such a warning, although it may have been relatively low key.

What people do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business. I object to it being portrayed on screen as harmless, amusing and everyday. It’s the fact of a threesome being presented as everyday sexual behaviour I object to. And personally I find it is a perversion. Others might think it’s ok. I don’t. And I do think it’s morally degenerate to present such behaviour as normal to fifteen year olds.
Then I suggest you check beforehand on the content of a film before watching it and don’t watch Saltburn.
although 15year olds have possibly already seen such scenes I would be, as I'm sure they would be, most uncomfortable viewing it together.. it does seem a rather inapproriate description and rating
I would not like to see a film for 15 year old depicting a man giving another man oral sex watched by his girlfriend.
There should have been a warning before the film and then you can decide to watch or not.

Without having seen the film, I agree with GSM.

Agreed. (Wish we had a 'like' option on GN!)

Last night we watched the film Northern Comfort on Netflix. It’s supposed to be a modern comedy about a group of people on a fear of flying course getting stranded in Iceland. Our granddaughter who is 15 is staying with us, and the film is a 15. I expected the usual raw language that is endemic in everything nowadays, but didn’t expect full frontal male nudes on a character’s phone and to my horror a scene where a man gives another man oral sex watched by his girlfriend. Why are film makers deliberately including perversion sandwiched in a so called comedy film ?
Pornography is just that, it shouldn’t be in a film rated for fifteen years olds. Our young people are being corrupted by people who are morally degenerate. I am cancelling Netflix today.
