I’ll be meeting up with my two daughters for a nice lunch. Looking forward to it.

Church this morning where the children all said lovely things about what their mothers meant to them and all of the mothers where given a small plant, taken around by the children. Then collected my DM aged 92 and met DD and her family for lunch. Received lovely card, a bag for my holidays and the teenagers gave their grandma and me daffodils. A bit of an expensive day as although mother's day the lunch was my treat to them but felt loved and appreciated.

A smashing day, lunch at my daughters, who with my son reduced all three of us to teary eyed laughter, bemused grandchildren and MrJ.

I’ve had a lovely time. 🥰

A lovely day,
Chocolates from my daughter. Elder son sent honey marmalade and younger son sent daffodils via M&S - highly recommended. They were beautiful.
Lunch with OH and daughter at my favourite restaurant. Delicious food and plenty of fizz. We dropped daughter at the station on the way home and I’m now relaxing on the sofa with the papers.

Early celebration lunch in a Tapas bar in London with my daughter yesterday. Stopped for a cocktail in a rather comfortable hotel lounge, then finished off at a very old pub for coffee to watch the rugby! Today, I went for a dog walk with my son and one of my granddaughters in the rain! Then went for a lunch time drink with my son and had a very long chat, which was lovely as we don’t get the opportunity very often. Had cards and gifts too. I’m very fortunate. (Brought them up on my own from when they were one and two years old and am so,proud of them.) 💐

Mine has been a disaster!

I woke up feeling unwell, went into the conservatory with my breakfast, found a hyacinth plant had toppled over and spilled soil everywhere, broke the bottle shelf on the fridge, spent ages online trying unsuccessfully to source a replacement, burned my finger and slept for two hours because I felt terrible.

Oh well, there is always next year! wink

My 2 youngest daughters took me to a local pub for Sunday lunch, it was delicious.

Best Mother’s Day in a while.
Yesterday and today son and I washed window frames and windows on three holiday cottages including glass balustrade in front of all three
That’s fantastic cos this time last year I only lasted half an hour on both days
He’s cooking supper later

I know I said yesterday I was doing nothing, but I went to church for the usual Communion service and we were all given some beautiful daffodils and a piece of simnel cake - we are all viewed as Mothers by the church. It was a lovely service 💐

No plans here as packing up our house and DCs are doing fun things with their partners. I know they love me a lot and I'm sure we'll catch up once we've moved and go out for a nice meal or something. We tell each other all the time we love one another..

Sending love and hugs to all those who are missing loved ones or for whom today brings heartache and sadness 💐

Our 3 and GC arriving very soon with food !! I do love Mother's Day but it has never seemed the same since my amazing Mum died. Me and my siblings were extremely fortunate to have her - We know how lucky we were to have a sensible , fair and intuitive Mum. So will of course enjoy this afternoon my Mum will also be ' here'.

We are going to DS2's house for lunch, which will be lovely.

DS1 invited me to theirs after I had already accepted the above invitation, so I sadly had to decline. I had quietly hoped an alternative time or day might be offered, but seems not. I'm not surprised, because is always very hit and miss whether he remembers me in any way at all on Mother's Day, or on my birthday which is always around the same time, and this year is on the same day. He certainly never acknowledges both.

Love and hugs to all mothers on Mothers Day. A special giant hug for those mothers, including myself who are trying to come to terms with estrangement. flowers

My two sons live further afield, so I shan't see them. They each sent me a lovely card, though, which I kissed before putting on the sideboard.

My long term 80 year man friend is taking me out to lunch and I can bet he will say to the waitress, as usual, that he's treating his Mum to lunch. It will still make me laugh, though.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone, & thank you for all your replies, I really enjoyed reading them.
flowers to those of you who won’t have the day you would have liked. These ‘celebration’ days often highlight the not so good situations some of us are in. flowers

DD1’s away this weekend, so has already given me a lovely present and card, in which DGS5 had drawn a beautiful picture of me and my remarkably mismatched legs and eyes. smile DS is calling round with his boys after lunch. And we’re out with DD2 and family to an Indian buffet this evening.

Wishing all mothers the best day possible, and thanks to those who won’t enjoy it, for whatever reason.

Moonwatcher 1904. The very same thing happened to me after years of supporting her. It hurt but life goes on. Days like today are just reminders. But tomorrow is another day to create new memories

I had visits from my son and daughter yesterday evening. They are both busy today, son is on night shift so he'll be sleeping. Daughter has her own family who have arranged her day.
My husband and I are going out for lunch which I am looking forward to.

I was treated to an early celebration of Mothering Sunday a week ago by DD3 & her family as I am now ‘socially distancing’ before surgery next week. I’ll be alone today with a M&S ready meal 😋. Wishing everyone a happy day whether you be alone or with family.
