Thank you all for your kind and supportive comments. I suppose there’s no right or wrong in these situations, just a decision to be made. I’m sure I’ll be feeling a mixture of emotions on Sunday lunchtime and trusting all will be well. You are such a caring bunch- I genuinely valued your opinions on this.

It's very grey and chilly here, but perhaps that's because the doors keep being opened! My lovely cleaner has been and gone, but couldn't do the bathroom, as we have a chap sorting out a couple of snags. Then perhaps it really will be finished. I am so pleased that we decided to have the bath removed and a walk in shower instead. Makes it much easier for me. I did order a tensioned shower caddy, but when assembled, it was too big, and so it has to be returned, tomorrow. Spoke to a Virtual assistant and the conversation went well 🤗.
Urms, it will be good for you to get away for a few days, enjoy.
You are so lucky to have lupins doing well Greyduster, I wish I could grow them, and the slugs would let them be.

Morning from a bright (for now) and windy Co Durham.
I seem to have lost track of everyone’s news. So I’ll wish better health, fewer worries and safe travels as appropriate.
Usual school walk this morning then a Sainsbury’s delivery 20 minutes early.
I had some devastating news about a friend of 60+ years yesterday and I’m finding it difficult to process. She has been there for me at some hard times in my life.
Think a quiet day beckons (until I collect dgd later)

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Yesterday's U3A talk was interesting on the Suffragettes in Kent, our town seems to have had a rather militant one, no surprise to us all. Today we are out to lunch with DH's old boss and his wife, an annual event which we enjoy. They are a bit older than us so it is a leisurely affair at a slightly upmarket fish and chip restaurant.
Urms I am sure a change of scene will do you good and it will go really quickly.

Urms - Himself is thinking of you and it’s only for five days! You can speak to him every day or FaceTime or zoom… if you really do find it difficult, you’re only a couple of hours away! The break will do you good.

A few days away will be good for you, Urms as long as you are not worrying about what is happening at home. Hope it all goes smoothly and you feel better for it.

Good morning everyone from a much brighter Northampton, a nice change from yesterday and its torrential rain.
I spent the day inside, moving furniture; the cat tree has found a new home in the hall, and I am enjoying the sense of space its removal has given me in the sitting room.

Just had an email to say I have a Cotton Traders parcel to pick up at my local garden centre, where they have a concession; so that is my plan for today.
I have a pork and apple casserole to get in the slow cooker first, then after lunch will walk to the garden centre, hoping that the rain holds off.

Hope today is kind to all.

Yes Pantglas the gym is very cheap. It was that price when we joined 8 years ago and we were told it would never go up if we didn't cancel the DD. Probably one of the reasons they are closing now!

Dear Urms it sounds like your husband really wants you to go, I can understand your reluctance, but I think it would do you good and re-charge your batteries. I suppose you will have to go with your heart and gut feelings.

Good morning everyone. I have news to share. Himself has persuaded me to fly out on Sunday to our happy place for 5 nights. He says the break will do me good, he’s doing well on his new chemo and he wants me to go. He isn’t allowed to fly yet because he’s receiving chemo. I admit to feeling somewhat apprehensive though for lots of reasons.

I hope I’m doing the right thing here.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Small turn out at music club yesterday, I was on the desk and one of my songs was ‘Send in the Clowns’, first time I have ever sung it and it seemed to go well. What with folk songs and operetta, it’s quite a mix. I now have my zonked IPad back, can’t live without it…

I have an appointment for a barium swallow, but it is planned for the day before I travel south with DD after her stay here. Not sure how one feels after it. All in all, I’m worried about having a hernia op, even though it won’t be for months. It’s such a palaver, recovery time etc. I wish I had no choice in the matter!

Anyhoo out to lunch with old friend at his favourite restaurant. The food and service are always excellent.

Yesterday I arranged a telephone appointment with the bank, I spent the rest of the day sorting papers so that I have all the information I need to hand.
SIL is coming this morning to take me shopping.
I had hoped the optician would have had my glasses ready but no not yet.

I have the podiatrist because, although I’m bendy enough to reach my feet, I’m not strong enough to cut the wretched nails. As mentioned before, worth every penny!

Another fairly uneventful day here again...I'll do a few small chores then it will be on with the admin and more pleasurable things. The latter are unlikely to include gardening by the looks of the sky.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and wet and windy. A day for staying home,so I shall. Ash I was never any good at sewing at school. We had a cantankerous old biddy as a teacher who we all feared. I like to do cross stitch but could never follow a pattern.
The boys and I got through yesterday but it was a bit of a struggle. Dgs1 was praised by his nursery teacher for his counting skills and was being a responsible citizen yesterday apparently. He is joining a wee football team in April which was his daddy's team when he was a boy. Everyone is delighted. Dgs2 used his intuition to step firmly away from a neighbour who I refer to as Creepy Dave and who was lurking as I took dgs2 out of the car. I try to be pleasant to all my neighbours,but he crosses so many boundaries. Last night I was unable to sleep and finally got up at three and made a cup of tea. Thereafter I slept well, so I don't feel too bad this morning. Just congested still. Hopefully that'll ease.
Today I have no plans. Hooray! Leek and potato soup for lunch. Beef olives for dinner. Have a good day all.

Kalu I recently gave in and went to the podiatrist. What a wonderful experience and worth every penny pound

Good morning from Glasgow. The sky appears to be brightening up slightly but it doesn’t hide the fact it is still a dreich day.

An at home day it is then with plenty of choices to choose from whatever mood takes me.

The podiatrist who visited yesterday was a friendly young woman who did a superb job and I now have her on my contact list for regular visits. No more attempts at trying to be a contortionist is a welcome thought.

DIL is popping in after school with my beloved Dollie. I suspect she is checking up on me, because she also popped in unexpectedly yesterday with my Mother's Day gift. DS has infected foot and is struggling to walk, hence the non appearance at the weekend.
We are so looking forward to seeing our girl. She is always such a tonic.
