A beautiful springlike day in the north of Scotland .
Well done gm in the face of such an awful experience.
It is clear from so many of you that the NHS waiting lists are long. There is a shortage of consultants in my area and those who can afford it, are going for private orthopaedic treatment.
Now I am off to browse the seed catalogues so spring can be enjoyed.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Lovely day with DD yesterday. After dropping off stuff at the charity shop, we did an essential big supermarket shop. It’s so nice to have the help, even though she put things in my trolley I wouldn’t normally buy…I humour her as she’s such a blessing to me.
Then lunch, a nice panini and shopping. I bought a chiffon style blouse against my birthday afternoon tea in London next week.

Turkey in the evening and tv. A perfect day. This afternoon the usual music club. DS arrives tonight too.
You must have had a fright Blossoming. Life does send us frights we could do without along the way.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle...will the sun beat the clouds, who knows?
After a lunch time visit by the window cleaner, I went out and re-seeded part of my pathetic front lawn. The turf put down by the developer had rather fine grass which obviously doesn't like the ground conditions here. I am using some seed which I hope is tougher. I've never had to give a lawn so much TLC before and it's not so far resulted in improvements. I've been tempted to have it all up and have a gravel garden but I do like to see green in the front.

I'll be off into town before long with my bags for the charity shops, plus more giveaways should be collected this evening.
A few chores need doing later then it will be back to reducing my pile of magazine reading.

I hope all goes well with MrB Blossoming, that was a fright for you both.

My DSiL's dad came to fix the repaired barometer back on the wall.
It says 11° 51° old money and changeable so pretty accurate for something made about 1900.

Nobody wants cassettes or VHS videos do they? I took a car load to the recycling yesterday and was even told there's no market for DVDs. 😒

Good morning from Lanzarote, the sun is just coming up over our local (dead) volcano, should be a fine day, but as usual there will be a breeze, less noticeable down on the coast, but it can get chilly.
Our ‘neighbour’ has moved out, but her cat is back here! Too jumpy for me to grab him, I texted her and she will try to get him later, she was here last night wandering up and down calling him, but you know what cats are like! The new people arrive today though and I think they will scare him away. I gave him some tuna so at least he isn’t hungry.

MrB has a dental appointment this morning and will likely be in some pain afterwards so nothing else planned for today, other than rest and painkillers and chicken soup if he feels like eating.

Grandmattie good for you speaking up about your horrible experience at the hands of scammers. Those people sicken me and I hope your bank and the police are able to help you.

MrB spoke to his doctor yesterday. He is not anaemic, liver function, blood sugar and thyroid are fine. He has vitamin D and B deficiency, and high cholesterol. He’s being referred for an ultrasound on the neck arteries. Prescriptions for high dose vitamins and statins to be collected today. When he collapsed I really thought he’d had a stroke as he had some of the classic symptoms. Thank you all for your support during a worrying time.

Rosesandlilac, when my GP saw how breathless I was and no sign of my urgent appointment, she phoned the cardiologist directly for advice.
He changed my meds and arranged for me to be admitted to hospital the following week. It may be worth going back to see your GP ( if you can get an appointment).

I forgot to say, yesterday I received an en email in my Diocesan account, from someone I didn't know. I immediately suspected a scam, because any unusual emails are quarantined and checked.
However, it was genuine and was a job offer from a university in Chile, offering me a job! They had seen my profile on Linkedin! DH has offered to help me pack and drive me to the airport. 🤣

It's Tuesday, so it's Tai chi and then shopping then probably watching afternoon TV from behind closed eyelids. My stamina is noticeable by its absence these days.
I note many of you are mentioning the twittering of the birds - something I no longer hear, regretfully, even with hearing aids. Although I did hear a blackbird singing the other evening at dusk, a joyful sound! I hadn't realised that the green parakeets have migrated so far north as Yorkshire, although I saw many of them on my regular trips to Holland in the past, and I knew they were everywhere in London. Maybe they'll be up here one of these days.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.

That's a pity about your appointment Mick, you could have done with seeing someone.
I was told at my RA appointment on Friday, the consultant would see me in six months. The appointment came in yesterday, it is in December!! That's fortunate, you were able to rebook, Mick. Waiting lists are so long for this clinic and they are very strict about missed appointments. However, the positive aspect is that I can phone the helpline and someone will always call back. It is a fantastic department.

Bella it is St Joseph's day in Scotland too. Both our priests are called Fr Joe. It can be very confusing at times

Once again, I have had very little sleep. The pain in my hands is unbearable, so I will need to resort to wearing my splints. I hate wearing them, especially as they don't match my outfit. 😉

Today, I hope to meet my ex colleagues for lunch in town. I had originally declined the invitation, because I felt so rotten. However, I have decided to pull myself together and make an effort,
DH will drive me to the station and the restaurant is only a few minutes away from Glasgow Central, so I don't have far to walk.
DS1' office is across the road, so I can decant there if I am struggling. Where there is a will, there is a way! 😁

There will be no TKMaxx etc. 😔, that is literally a step too far.
However, an elderly 88 year old parishioner is looking for religious Easter cards, so I hope to pop into the St. Paul Book Centre and pick up some for him.
He still helps to look after the extensive parish grounds, he is absolutely amazing, but is unwell just now. Going by the tests he is having, I suspect he has cancer.

I hope GrannyGravy has had some success with her appointment, regarding her back. Pain is so debilitating and drags you down. 😔

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I can hear the birds tweeting outside and it seems bright.
Housework today - we still haven’t sorted out a new cleaner. I may make a batch of lemon ice cream. It’s a family favourite. Maybe some little cakes too.
OH has his shooting club tonight and I’ll pop round to friends.

Good morning all from Glasgow. It’s wet and windy today but the clouds are breaking up and we now have sunshine.

We have a plumber coming today to fix a list of fiddly jobs, one less to be ticked off my list. I will be meeting up with my cousin later at our local garden centre for coffee. As it is far too early to plant anything yet at least we can have a look around at what’s on offer.
Grey I had no idea you had parakeets in Yorkshire. Whenever DD2 facetimes me from her garden in OZ, it’s difficult to ignore the constant noise they make, it would drive me crazy but she must be used to it now.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but a dry day forecast, so I have all my cushion covers and a throw in the machine, so they will be nice and fresh for my wine evening tomorrow.

Wielded the.duster and polish yesterday, then gave the suite a good going over with the vacuum cleaner. Managed to get the towels washed, and dried them outside.

An early visit to M&S Food this morning to get the fresh stuff for tomorrow, and return an order, then if I am home in time, will attempt to join my walking group after lunch.

A warm day with sunshine that ended up dull and chilly. I had a lovely lunch with my friend and got home at teatime.

Today Dh might go for breakfast with his two old school pals. He’d left his phone in the car and missed two messages inviting him out. 😤. They e probably made other arrangements now! 🙄.

I have Bridge this afternoon and there will be cake as it’s another members 80th birthday. We’re not supposed to know her age though! 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Good morning from the South Downs. A dull day forecast but hopefully with little rain.

DHs back is bad so I’m taking on all household duties. Keeps me busy. More housework today. I must also change the hygienists appointment on Friday as I’ve just realised that it clashes with my sisters oncology appointment.

Hoping to get 10 minutes in the garden today. Steak and kidney pudding for supper - I’ll do it in the slow cooker I think. That should cheer DH up.
